This Project by volunteers that has worked on it since it started back in 2012 - a year after Skyrims release.
This is what i call absolute dedication and absolute show how much they love the game.
Like many game industries, without their fans - Bethesda is nothing.
And they should be damn grateful for it. I am very excited to play this huge mod.
They are so grateful they repeatedly try monetizing those fans.

@@panagia9007 i mean they've been working on it for the past 11 years with prio'ing real world situations ofc, the fact that they didnt drop it and kept working on it and now getting to the point where they're almost ready to release it i'd say is pretty big damn dedication for not being an official company or anything

I'm really glad Asmon took notice of this and made a video reaction, this will give much more notoriety to this great project and most likely more people will start supporting it. I'm infinitely thankful to the people working around the clock to bring this to life, Oblivion is one of my favorite games ever (probably the game I've played the most hours so far) and seeing this project come to fruition really makes me happy!

maybe maybe not. Lot of devs that could supprot it just have other things to do including myself. There are just not many people that are already skilled in creatin engine and have the free time to contribute and support it.

The thing people dont realize is this is just a hobby project by really talented modders. They aren't working 9-5 on this

@@FezTheMoose It's a program that help you to install modlist created by people so you don't have to spent time installing 1000 mods to find out it's not working and need to uninstall 20 mods to fix it but uninstall those 20 mods create new bugs so you and to install 30 mods to fix it then you find out by installling those 30 mods you make the game crash every 3 minutes so you will have to install 33 patchs for it but those 33 patchs are uncompatible with another 66 mods.........etc.

@@Salmagros salmagros? thats surreal af what up dud. Yes @Kwa ndo it reduces the necessity of multiple steps in modding, including finding the mod and reading the description. The creator of the wabbajack will usually reccomend minimum computer specs, and give instructions to make it simple.
@@kwando472 Wabbajack just makes it way easier to pimp out your game without cross-referencing a bunch of compatibility and load order lists. I just discovered wabba 2 days ago and this shit is insane, my game looks like a 2023 AAA title and it took like 4 clicks. Theres one that Fixes Skyrim VR so instead of a peice of shit moneygrab it turns into a 10/10 VR game

It is amazing for this mod community to have Asmon react to it. It could potentionally bring way more viewers, players and perhaps even new devs for the mod teams in question. Great stuff!
Oh absolutely, the team lead also mention in a stream that this is one of the reason he decided to release this trailer. He hope more fans could volunteer into the project and speed up the process.
Oblivion was my first elder scrolls game so i'm 100% here for this! I vaguely remember hearing about this a few years back I think. It looks Incredible!
I didn't finish the game for like 6 years because I didn't want it to end... Why is it always the modding community that makes actual good content. Perhaps someone should I dunno, hire them instead??
Morrowind myself but I got lost all the time, no map markers and only journal to guide you mean that happens alot.

Man, Oblivion was hours of fun, that was a game I played for countless hours, I remember sitting on the floor playing it all evening whenever it was my turn on the xbox or when my brother was out or doing whatever else and the music would put my brother to sleep so I'd just keep playing and it was so good, this was before my family ever paid for anything online so I never get the shivering isles or anything but just the base game was great
Why do I get the feeling Bethesda/Zenimax will cease and desist this the same way they did with the Skyrim multiplayer mod. Even if that was the case its not like they can do anything once the mod is released online its a done deal.
It will probably become popular enough that other Oblivion fans will work together to patch the mod should a C&D order be placed on the modmakers that made it.
They jave direct permission from Bethesda to make this mod. The only stipulation was that they had to recreate everything and not use any proprietary Bethesda assets which is why it took so long to create the Mod since 2012.

When did a cease and desist happen to the skyrim multiplayer mod? Tried looking for any mention of it and couldn't find anything about Bethesda giving them a cease and desist.
They made it fully secure by making sure they have everything perfectly legal before even beginning, you think these modder pros would work for like 10 years with risking something like this?

this trailer made me cry from excitement, oblivion was my elder scrolls game of choice. the amount of work that went and is still going into it is astronomical and one of the biggest fan made game ever. THIS IS GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE
This looks so cool, tbh I can't wait to experience Oblivion with this mod. I'm only playing with default settings as my computer probaby can't handle high intensive graphics.
To be clear they do have the horse armor in the game but it is still paid DLC
Skyrim has far better game mechanics than oblivion but man at least oblivion had a real city. The imperial city felt massive, it only needs more people for full immersion but skyrim had tiny towns that were supposed to be cities.
@@LiquidFireN2X I'd take perk trees over spell crafting any day. But I do miss spell crafting quite a bit. Probably wasn't in because of it being pretty OP.

what's sucks about mods like this is that at the end of the day, every elder scrolls game is better with mods which means i will have to wait for mods for this mod
lol, I doubt it will happen. I think this mod will be what it is and no more. Imagine how hard it would be to mod this. Plus oblivion itself have such amazing mods hidden everywhere. If yo utake the time to dig into the nexus or TES alliance, and if you know how mod a little bit yourself, it's crazy the things you can do with this game

bethesda could be like nintendo where they can ruthlessly just shut down fan games or big projects like these
even if the paid mods thing was cringe but at least thats way much better than whatever the alternative is like how activision blizzard just owns 100% of anything you make with their games (custom maps and mods) so modders get no share of the profit at all💀

Just like with Enderal, compatibility with existing mods will vary from type to type. Perk overhauls like Ordinator won't work if Skyblivion already makes changes to the skill system, while something simple like a player-only armor or weapon mod should work without issue depending on how it's integrated. Worst case scenario, you're gonna have to use console commands to spawn them

Been loosely following the Skyblivion project for a long time. Really happy to hear they have a firm release date deadline in place now. Now to wait on Skywind...

Dude I've been waiting for this for YEARS. Oblivion was a masterpiece at the time, and now that I can replay it with a 4k engine is just... glorious.
I have waited for this for so so long! This mod allows you to travel to the location of Oblivion from the Skyrim world map. They’ve already did it with Morrowind (Skywind) and also a few other locations. This is going to be a,axing. Especially In VR (the other custom maps work in Virtual, currently).
Neither Skyblivion nor Skywind allows you to travel to Skyrim.
Both work like independent games, the remains of Skyrims map in Skyblivion are unplayable and Skywind deletes the Skyrim map completely.
There are other projects that extend the Skyrim map, are you confusing those?
@@Songbirdstress Yeah, there are mods that replace the skyrim map, and there are mods that extrend the map. Notable ones like Bruma already exist.

I’ve never played oblivion but absolutely love skyrim. I’m probably gonna play this, then skyrim, then elder scrolls 6 all in a row.
Oblivion is also an awesome game. It doesn’t have the crafting and has a bit of a different system, but I would urge you to give it a shot. Even the original version.
just me or, too many choices makes me feel like I'm missing out on gameplay and i don't wanna repeat to find out i missed minor inconveniences

It's Oblivion with the engine of Skyrim also it has both worlds of Oblivion and Skyrim connected.
They are also coverting Morrowind to the dame engine. Modders are also completely rebuilding New Vegas as a FO4 mod as well as Miami, London and Cascadia projects (Cascadia is Oregon/Portland area and the trailer shows the NCR. I believe the story will be heavily based on the NCR trying to conquer the area). There are trailers for each of these projects if you havent seen them yet! Its rime to finally switch to PC

Since this is a mod to skyrim, and mods for skyrim works in skyrim vr, I can play oblivion in vr. The dark brotherhood questline just got more immersive; I will shoot the rose of sithis as if I was holding the bow!
Never played oblivion and i am going to wait once this is ready. This will look like fully modded Oblivion from the start

It's a volunteer project so yeah 2025 it's a good date and he said that would come out earlier if more volunteers help
i absolutely CANNOT wait to see how they remake the shivering isles; their FAQ says they’ll be doing all DLC’s big and small, and the shivering isles was by far the best expansion imo.

Oblivion is my favorite TES game, and it'll be fun to play it with the better graphics and engine of Skyrim.
Amazed that this is coming out, too bad Skywind is never coming out but at least people will get this.
A good chance for younger folks that did not play Oblivion, it is my favorite. Morrowind was great but the some of side quests on Oblivion are some of the best in any game. I am sorta old, played all of them. I was in the Army when Arena came out, could not wait to play Daggerfall later in a light infantry unit in AK. I played the crap out of Morrowind in Iraq. Played Skyrim for years. Followed this project for a long time. New fans that never played anything but Skyrim are in for a treat. I bet the Ayleid dungeons look sick as hell also.

I believe it's a separate download, so you have to create a new character

That's awesome Oblivion was my favorite elder scrolls game I believe I have played every character class and beat every quest discovered every location at least four different times so if I would have spent that time on playing guitar I'd probably be better than Slash

I wish he would see the other ones from Beyond Skyrim team, they're all insanely impressive but you have to understand the Elder Scrolls modding team is exceptionally talented so when we discuss the "Best" its REALLY high quality.
I doubt any more Beyond Skyrim releases are happening outside of Roscrea, Atmora, and the Morrowind/Illiac Bay pre-releases.
Cyrodiil, Elsweyr, Illiac Bay, and Morrowind certainly aren't happening before 2025, more likely 2035 if ever.
This also heavily depends on the mod team getting their shit together and not having constantly almost monthly schizo-transgender meltdowns which heavily documented on a certain website dedicated to the farming of kiwis.

I remember Morroblivion project sometime in 2007 that aimed to port Morrowind into Oblivion's engine. It did fairly good but was eventually cancelled due to legal issues. Such projects always run into legal trouble because this is essentially smashing 2 games together without necessarily requiring you to own both.
Sometimes they even do this with games from completely different developers. Reign of Terror mod ported entire Diablo II + LOD into Grim Dawn. The game is significantly different from Diablo II, as it uses Grim Dawn character development mechanics (you play as 2 classes and can do both D2 Sorceress and Paladin for example), but the whole world, models and soundtrack is from D2. This is a free download and requires to just own Grim Dawn. No need to own Diablo II.
This came before D2 Resurrected and was a good opportunity to play D2 in a modern engine before a proper remaster came out. And it still is a mod worth of recommending, even though D2R is out. It's a completely new way to play Diablo 2 campaign.
I also look forward to Fallout Miami a new location, story and everything in a huge mod for Fallout 4
I'm super excited for this since I always felt like the Oblivion world/Cyrodiil was way cooler than Skyrim. Also super curious how the voice acting, combat, and the quests I've done 300 million times are gonna feel.. I'm a hater of Skyrim vanilla combat but I'm sure it will still be really cool
