I forget how beautiful and powerful this video is. Ever since the first time I saw this the night I was thinking of taking my life it has changed me and my outlook on life. It showed me to have hope & to hold on because it will get better. Thank you for doing this 💜
This for me is a blessing! My son is has been bullied daily for being different..I am so thrilled to see this and for all those adults to share their story! Right now high school is hard for him! I as a mother can not change the world, I can love and try to educate. THANK WALT DISNEY for being strong enough to make a difference! Thank you each and everyone for sharing! This gives me hope!! God Bless you all!
Guys, it doesn't matter about who this is coming from, it's the message that they convey. Bless the people who came up with this campaign. It's so uplifting and amazing.
4:36 "It's like if you're a Dodger fan and you walk into Dodger Stadium after you've lived in Boston all your life and you go 'Oh my god there's thousands of us It's ok I can wear blue and not be afraid.' It's like finally finding people that speak your language."
Look at that perfect Disney tear brewing at 5:51. Megan, i'm proud of your gurlll! Not only because you reflect true Disney STARDOM but because you have been inspirational and reflected true Disney bravery. That tear is DISNEY.
I feel so proud beeing a part of the Walt Disney Company... this video gave me goosebumps. I wish all Disney Cast Members in the entire world a happy and joyful christmas time!
You see this, this is what I'm talking about, society always pushes away suicide when the other kids are actually murdering someone, even if they didn't do it themselves, they still have blood on their hands and they don't even care, which I think is the most evil thing someone can do, it makes me sad to see so many people take their lives because they don't fit in, trust me it gets better, there is always people who will be there for you, even if you can't see it.
"Every life is a story. We all get to write our own life story. But no life is a one-person show. You need to surround yourself with people who love you for who you are and encourage you to share with the world the unique gifts that you have to share." Gosh darnit, I love you all, Disney.
Thank you so much Disney for helping teens like me out there who are different. There is a reason we love Disney and that is that is an escape to childhood . I am visiting the park soon to hopefully leave the world and go to a safe haven of happiness and no stress. Again Disney, I'm touched by the cast members words and it helps people see that it does get better. Have a magical day everyone.
I think these are beautiful, brave, caring, loving people & their message is not just for one group of people, but for everyone. Thank you Disney & The Trevor Project. And, thanks to you courageous people for sharing your experiences in this video. My hope is that many more people will hear & understand what was shared here.
Thank you to each of you for your courage, stamina, and willingness to move forward with your lives even though they were difficult, at best. God bless each of you and thank you for sharing your stories with us.
I almost cry. This video made me remember all those bad days. I remember the bullying I went through, i though in suicide too, and for long time I asked myself why me. Now I see my present I thank to all that good people I met and made me realize that there's something what to live for!!! Now I know I am not alone, and It will be get better every time I am down!!!!. Merry Xmas to everyone.
the entire world population watches disney movies and enjoy it, and disney features have been a part of all of our lives for so many years, think of how significant it will be to make such a movie and effect so many lives.... i really look forward to watching a movie like this and showing it to my kids and having it on DVD. love ya disney! Lior.
Nobody should be pushed to the brink of suicide by those who cannot accept differences in others. Those of you who appeared in this video just may have saved the life of a young person who felt the same way you did at that age. Thank you for your courage. Happiness to you all.
Working for Disney was the first and ONLY time, to this day, I felt COMPLETE acceptance. There's nothing harder to endure than feeling the need to hide something you naturally are. To finally find an environment that celebrates what makes you unique versus pressuring you to hide it, was GOLD and I will always cherish the confidence the House of Mouse gave me. ♥
I think this was such a great video that was done. WIth the immense amount of people present in the video everyone had a chance to share their story and what they went through. The diversity of this video... It's just astounding, it made me feel so proud to be part of a community of givers and people that want to help.
The day I got hired to sing at Disney World was the happiest day of my life. I spent a wonderful year singing at WDW. At the end of my yearlong contract, I was told I wouldn't get renewed. The reason was supposedly my singing. In the entire year I never got a note about my singing. I truly believe, I my contract wasn't renewed because the leaders of my singing group assumed I was gay. No one asked. It's now 26 years later, and I still grieve for this job. I'm glad Disney Pride is working on it.
I adore this movement so much, even if I already know it will get better, it's so good to hear it said from people like this. Sort of like hearing an "I love you" after a long, hard day. It just makes me happy. Especially from the company that I grew up loving and still love. I also adore how /all/ kinds of people join this message and tell us that it gets better.
Thank you, Disney, for this touching and inspiring video. I was bullied all through Jr. High and High School because of a rumor another girl started about me just before she moved out of town (before I could beat her ass and make her tell the truth). You wouldn't think a rumor would change someone's life, but it did. No friends, no party invitations, rude and offense comments, fights, etc, resulted. I was a naive and innocent girl before then.
I did the Walt Disney World college internship program before I came out and I am proud to say that the acceptance I found with my Disney Family lent me the courage to come out. Even though my biological family has never been supportive (I was disowned... twice) I am forever grateful for my time at Walt Disney World. IT DOES GET BETTER!
It gets better, I have met so many people while working at the Disneyland Resort, that I probally would not have been able to meet.... Especially guest, I look at all these guest enjoying themselves and they always have a happy attitude. To be honest at one point in my life I thought everyone was a bully (because I was bullied so much) but thats not how it is... IT GETS BETTER THRU HOPE, MAGIC, AND WONDERFUL THOUGHTS! MUCH LOVE!
Dangit, no matter how many of these I watch I always get teary eyed. It truly does get better, and I know the fear of letting that first person know feels insurmountable, but don't underestimate your friends. Coming out was the greatest thing I ever did and once I told one it was almost fun telling everyone else!
This makes me love Disney even more than I've used to my entire life, so so so freaking proud. This is just beautiful and I'm so grateful for everyone who did this and I'm also happy that they struggled their situations, as harsh as they might've been and that they are now sharing their experience and reaching out. I hope all the people in this video are now truly happy and glad with their lives :)
I'm so proud and grateful towards Disney for doing this. When Pixar released their beautiful video, I was curious as to whether the Disney gang would be brave enough to do the same
I'm a 20 year old lesbian and have been with my Gf for 5 years. I'm a Disney kid, I grew up with Disney and so will my kids. I'm so proud of Disney. It really does get better.
Disney teaches you to love your self of what you are and that being different and special it is no wrong, Inspires you to preserve your innocence. So there is no reason for the whole world to know what you are or how you feel. Just embrace what you are and be comfortable with it.
I know so many other people in the amazing spectrum of human identity who live normal, happy lives. If you are in a small town hold on, save up, keep listening to the folks who've been through it all and then move to a city. We love you. This world needs you. You matter and there is nothing wrong with you for who you love, there is something wrong with those who hate you for who you love. (Psst, you are totally welcome in Seattle too!)
this brough tears to my eyes. this is great. i have seen so many "it gets better" videos and stories but this, this video really stood out from so many others. not sure how not sure why. but it really does prove that it does get better.
these videos are more aimed at society than actually troubled gay people.they typically say "it gets better because" because you grow up and realize that people are more tolerant than you thought and you're more comfortable with yourself, all that crap, and blah, blah. its like these people who went through it dont even understand it, that there are so many more problems and dynamics about being gay than getting bullied; being young and gay is lonely, isolating,
It does make me proud to call myself a Cast Member. I am very happy to work for a company that not only respects but embraces Diversity in this magnitude.
I am not gay, and quite frankly, it doesn't matter. This video has SO many positive and inspiring things to say, not only about sexuality but about life in general. Major kudos to these Disney employees for putting themselves out there and sharing this amazing message with the world! It really does get better.
It does get better! My high school here in Brazil was a complete nightmare. But as soon as I got to university, everything felt like a dream come true. Things are not perfect yet. My dad kicked me out when I came out and he still does not talk to me, things are harder now, but I am sure it will only get better. Beautiful video. I cried my eyes out :}
Makes me so happy to have worked there. I met a million wonderful people there, and a lot of them were gay, and I miss that environment so much. It's the sort of thing that breeds and treasures creativity, and Disney has always done that. Walt would be so proud.
It makes me so happy to see Disney and Trevor project working together to talk honestly about a serious subject ❤️
Bravo to all involved with this!!! It gives me the chills watching this. Another hetro here, supporting love regardless of where it comes from.
I can't wait for the day that Disney Channel makes a show with gay characters whether they are the parents or the kids!!!!!
Wow, i didn't know Disney had a pride group! Even more reasons to like Disney^^,
Disney's really super into accepting and supporting everyone. Makes me love them even more.
This may be the one redeeming thing Disney has ever done
That last sentence nearly made me cry.
I forget how beautiful and powerful this video is. Ever since the first time I saw this the night I was thinking of taking my life it has changed me and my outlook on life. It showed me to have hope & to hold on because it will get better. Thank you for doing this 💜
I know it's a year later but I still am so happy for you ❤️
thanks iHATEeverything it means a lot
This makes me so proud to have been part of this wonderful company!

Essential message. I'm so proud of Disney!
Thanks Disney for making everyone, not just kids feel like they're not alone and proud to be who they are

I am so proud of TWDC for sponsoring this video, and grateful to the brave cast members who shared their stories. So well done...and very powerful.
I have never been so proud to call myself a Cast Member right now. I love Disney's support and love all people.

Breaks my heart to see how much these amazing individuals clearly still suffer from past events. I thank each and every one of them for speaking up !
Disney, you're doing everything right with this video.
All of my tears. Everywhere.

I love Disney, I love being gay, and I love my life.
