How to visit the Sun Moon lake? Facing our first challenge. Taichung | Puli | Taiwan Day 7-9

For Day 7, 8 & 9, we explored Taichung and Puli as transit cities, before visiting Sun Moon lake. Taichung and Puli offer several interesting attractions. Due to the reconstruction of the Taichung bus terminal, our trip to Puli faced some challenges. Despite this, we had a great time overall especially mountain biking the 33km around the Sun Moon lake.
Here are all the attraction we visited at Taichung, Puli and Sun Moon lake:
**Yilan District**:
Nestled against the northeastern coastline, Yilan beckons with its untamed mountainous terrains, cascading falls, therapeutic hot springs, and inviting sandy shores.
**Yilan Bus Transfer**:
Yilan is accessible through a network of inter-city buses, swift high-speed rails, or the traditional train routes, complemented by a variety of local transportation options for exploration.
**Taiwan City Hall Bus Station**:
Situated in the bustling Xinyi District of Taipei, this towering complex doubles as a central node for bus and metro lines crisscrossing the city.
**Taipei Main Station**:
A pivotal hub in Taipei, this station is the convergence point for the city's metro, the island-spanning High Speed Rail, and the extensive Taiwan Railway network.
**HRS Taichung Station**:
Perched in Taichung's Wuri District, this station stands as a modern testament to high-speed travel, serving as a stop for the High Speed Rail and the Taichung Metro's Green Line.
**Taichung District**:
As Taiwan's cultural heartland, Taichung unfolds a tapestry of historical parks, serene gardens, and a mosaic of sacred temples.
**Taichung Station**:
This station is a key stop on the Taiwan Railways Administration's network, offering a gateway to the diverse experiences within Taichung.
**Tee Way Hotel**:
In the heart of Taichung, Tee Way Hotel marries classic comfort with contemporary amenities, all within a stone's throw from the central railway station.
**Taichung Animation Lane**:
Transforming an ordinary alley into a vibrant canvas, Taichung's Animation Lane celebrates the whimsical world of Japanese anime through street art.
**Puli District**:
Puli, the geographical nucleus of Taiwan, is an urban township celebrated for its untouched mountainous regions and the purity of its spring waters.
**Puli Bus Station**:
This hub serves as the pulse of Puli, connecting the township to the wider region with a web of bus routes.
**Baohu Temple**:
A sanctuary of spirituality, Baohu Temple stands as a beacon of religious devotion and architectural splendor in Puli.
**Puli Fish Mart Night Market**:
As night falls, the Puli Fish Mart comes alive, offering a feast for the senses with its array of local flavors and ocean-fresh catches.
**Sun Moon Lake**:
Taiwan's largest body of water, Sun Moon Lake, is renowned for its crystalline waters and the enchanting scenery that frames it.
**Wenwu Temple**:
Overlooking Sun Moon Lake, Wenwu Temple is a monument to Confucian and martial virtues, adorned with intricate traditional Chinese designs.
**Ita Thao Shopping District**:
A bustling marketplace near Sun Moon Lake, Ita Thao invites visitors to indulge in indigenous crafts, memorable souvenirs, and tantalizing local treats.
**Xuan Zang Temple**:
A tribute to the legendary Buddhist pilgrim Xuan Zang, this temple near Sun Moon Lake honors his historic journey to the East.
**Shueishe Visitors Centre**:
The gateway to Sun Moon Lake, the Shueishe Visitors Centre stands ready to guide travelers through the lake's natural wonders and cultural landmarks.
