    That has to be one of the most beautiful trails.

      It might be. We were in shock at how amazing this trail was. I want to get back out there this summer and take our time a bit more and not race the snow storm.

      Early to mid-September has the best colors. The reds and yellow gold are breathtaking. I camped at 11k + feet, and it was freezing, but the days were warm. It hailed rained and snowed the night before I went down black bear pass, so it was a little icy, but wow, what an awesome trail also!

    Yes, I had to ask the locals on that also. My pronunciation was way off. Had a great time there, and the locals took me to some way off the beaten path to show me some really beautiful spots I never would have found on my own. Totally fell in love with the place and the people. Did a lot of hiking in the surrounding mountains and ran into a lot of head stones and urns placed out in the woods. Obviously, this area was very special for them before they passed!

    By the looks of the trees (and condition of our sticker on the sign) you were probably there about a week or so behind our crew last September - the colors are amazing mid-late September!

      They were. That was our original dates planned but had issues in utah and burt a whole week waiting on parts. I think we did this trail Oct 1st.

      Wish we could do the trip again this year, but this year one of the kids is now old enough for school. So vacation time has to be a bit more planned :(

    Nice video. Did Imogene a few years ago. Go slow and in low and you will not have problems. The view at the top is worth it! Amazed by those who mined the gold in the past. Between my right shoulder arthritis flaring up and my anxiety in not knowing the trail, I did not enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Would like to do it again and take my time and enjoy it. BTW, Lunch in Telluride was nice. Thanks for the video!

    3:11 the black Jeep looked like a sad puppy watching you guys leave.
    I want to drive this trail one day. Don’t think my stock expedition would make it though. She’s got 4H and 4L but don’t think she’s got the clearance. I also live across the country from there. Would be a road trip.

    You gotta download Telluride by Tim
    McGraw and sing it whenever you’re in the area - on the radio of course

      Well i sing better then I dance, but that isn't saying much.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching. Without a spare, it would be a long drive on a rim back down to the town. Maybe find a friend with roughly same size tire and wheel. That way you could use theirs.

      @JeepAdventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I said that and a local in the area said i needed more emphasis on the O. Then i had someone tell me the way you say it. I appreciate everyone for trying to educate me and and talking. One of the things i like about visiting new places.

    • @jessebarron5803
      @jessebarron5803 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea. I've spent a couple of months in that area, and all the locals were pretty adamant about the pronunciation. Kinda like Nevadans, pronounce Nevada wrong, and you might get smacked....😂

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hahaha, yeah they are the ones that heard me say ouray (Yur-ay) and I was told I was saying it wrong. I needed more "O".

    Is there common communications frequency the vehicles can communicate traffic on ?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      not really, at least not like there was back in the old days with CB's. But usually you can find people using the family band of frequencies as you can use them without licenses.

    How much of it is 2wd friendly if anything

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if you ran it from telluride to Ouray, you could probably do it in 2wd, but take the early exit. If you go the way we did, you might have issues near the top as there was some rough areas up there. You still might be able to do them in 2wd depending vehicle, tire, and pressure. But will be a challenge.

    Ouray, "your ray". The river is pronounced Un-come-pah-gray

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the ouray one was difficult. I had so many people in town tell me different ways to say it. I ended up going with the two commons and neither were right hahaha.
      As for un-come-pah-gray, that is good to know. I recorded someone local saying it so i could repeat it, but guess I got it slightly wrong. Its not the easiest to say.
      Anyway, thank you for watching,

      Excellent video of an excellent place for easy off-roading in the right weather conditions! ❤ Gorgeous views presented with the right music and…voice. 😊 I did this last August and September during an almost two month trip from Atlanta, GA, that concentrated mainly on Ouray,Colorado; Moab, Utah and Sedona, Arizona! In my 2020 JGC Trailhawk that got me 7 Jeep Badges of Honor (my total thus far is 15).
