I vividly remember these somewhat pegwarming when they came out but I eventually snagged them to augment my Joe and cobra forces. It seems like they hung around for YEARS (or they would be steadily restocked not sure). They were cool. Many could easily suffer “broken thumb syndrome”. Fairly sure I still have some (tanner, whispering Willie, and shark I believe with a couple of more)
This was great bro, and I learned a lot about wave 1 today! I collect the 90’s Corps figures already but now I’m going after the 80’s waves. Great video! 🙌🏻
Man thanks for this video, I know nothing about The Corps, having only got ibto Joes 3 years ago. Love history videos and this is a great eye opener for me.
Awesome! I Was looking for something like this, and its recent as the time of this comment! It would of cool to see all of their accessories alongside the figure on the rotation base for completion reference. But better than nothing, happy you put this together! Hopefully more videos of the vintage corps waves are to come!
They always worked as a random Merc faction... Ranked up there with The Bad Guys as chumps to shoot at, if you didn't have enough Cobra guys. I used these guys as a Rebel Soviet faction, and had them taking over Joe bases and Cobra strongholds...
In the 80s I got some for Christmas seem like it was a large box that came with several of them. I would always have battles with gijoe vs the corps aka wannabe joes😂. These guys were so cool if seem like they were just a little shorter than the gijoes but had a wider upper body if I remember right. Cool video
The wider torso was definitely a distinguishing design for picking them out of a line up. For me the cooler ones were allowed to be Joes and then eveyone else were bad guys 😂
Very nice! Great overview of a great toyline! I actually had ALL of the Lanard figures from the 80's, Even the space figures and the later released 4" girl figures. I really loved the look and the price.
This line came out after my time so I didnt have a clue how extensive it was until this and your other videos (great idea reading the file cards). Very cool. THIS is how a complimentary toyline should be done; these guys look just like the small GI Joes to me me and would fit right in ketting you either fillout each subcategory (arctic, ninja, Dreadnit, etc) or give them perfect matching-themed enemies all the while at a far cheaper price. And, ironically, I think these guys do some of them even better than the Joes; this ninja is more of a classic look than Storm Shadow so could really be a troop builder and used against any 3 3/4 line and the Native American character here is dressed contemporary not like a 19th century cavalry scout like Spirit is.
@@ivane5110 for me while I knew they weren’t Gi Joe they still played right along side them. It wasn’t until later that I learned that many people considered them very inferior, which I whole-heartedly disagree with. Glad you were able to learn about this toyline!
This is a great resource that I keep coming back to. I'd love to see a video on the wave one vehicles. I understand the first two releases were the tank & boat, but what was the third smaller vehicle you speak of?
@@TreasureLostAndFound the third vehicle is called the one man assault craft. It’s a small single seat boat that is battery powered. It’s quite rare, but I do one one-I can post a picture of it on the community page. I do have a plan to make a video on the vehicles I just would like the wave one versions of the boat and tank first. Currently the earliest I have are the the wave two from 1990
@@Mvargo97thanks so much! You have an amazing Corps collection and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge - It has helped a great deal in building my own collection✌️
Looking forward to these videos about The Corps!
Thank you!
Great over view Michael! Looking forward to the remainder of the series.
Thanks for watching!

Yeah the weapon handles are probably molded too wide for most of the figures, so it took me a bit to find really nice examples
@@Mvargo97 I dint doubt. At that point in my collecting I was careful and still broke some.
Awesome roster video! These bring back so many memories, looking forward to more of your Lanard content!
Glad you enjoyed it
Tactics: Does not understand tactics. 🤣🤣🤣
Very cool!!
Thanks for watching!
Got to be honest, i dont remember this line, maybe because I'm older. I really enjoyed this and look forward to more episodes.
Glad to have been able to share something new with you!

We’ll be getting to the 90s stuff very soon

Glad you enjoyed it. The second wave should be out soon. Starting with the next video the accessories will be shown with the figure as well
I loved it!!!❤🔥

Interesting to have a couple of references to South Africa (I'm South African btw).
That was one of the things that I enjoyed about the line was that the characters all came from different places
Great video! As much as I love modern figures like Joytoy, Acid Rain and others there’s really nothing that compares to the original O ring figures.
@@lrf233 totally agree. O ring figures have a certain charm that I don’t think will ever be replicated
Please keep doing these there's not alot of info out there on lanard from the early days. Great video
Thanks. I have more planned!
I’ve just managed to get a boxed wolf pack tank from 86 well chuffed, I don’t see many boxed vintage corps vehicles
Yeah vintage boxed vehicles are incredibly rare. The tank is an awesome vehicle though

Hammer's just Flint from the cartoon😁
Hi. Came over from It'sChad where I heard you were doing vids on The Corps. I've been kinda curious about them, so I'm here to check out your content.
Awesome glad to have you here!
We all know Bengala was an Osama action figure....it was the 80s he was a good guy back then remember? Lol
Very nice! Great overview of a great toyline!

I’ve been tempted to pick up some of the WOW power girls
These action figures were my childhood!
Awesome. I loved my Lanard figures growing up
Had a bunch of these. K-Mart Joes I called them. As a kid I didn't care, they looked fine with Joes and they were dirt cheap.
Mine always integrated into playtime. When you can get 3 for the price of one Joe it was hard to pass up sometimes.

@ glad I can help
Never knew much about these figures till now.
Thanks for watching. I felt like a lot of people were unaware that there was more to these figures than the cheaper price points
Some of these backgrounds sound like the gi joe ones but slightly more grounded.
Great video mate
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
Swag was here and he subbed 💪
I had very few Joes but I had craploads of these.
Awesome. I had quite a few of these to supplement with my joes but never knew their names
