Most TV serials begin with grand, impressive plots but eventually resort to family drama or "saas bahu" drama as the serial progresses. They do this because people still enjoy that kind of content. TV audiences have limited tastes. They want fresh faces to portray the same character. How many times can you see the same actress playing the same helpless daughter-in-law? However, this makes it very difficult for lead actors to find work. Due to the lack of variety in the Indian TV space, these leads struggle to find work elsewhere. The same family drama that brought them fame becomes a curse because they struggle to be cast in anything else.

Compare this to Sherlock. The level of respect Benedict has garnered and how seamlessly he transitioned to a HUGE production like Marvel! This can never happen in Bollywood. At least not so soon. Although I do agree that Indian TV serials are nowhere near the masterpiece that the first few seasons of Sherlock were. Perhaps producing quality TV content instead of the typical Naagin & Saas bahu dramas might earn TV actors the respect they deserve.
There are some serials that do have good content. And tbh Saas bahu serials have big contribution to the growth of tv. Let's hope they are treated with respect like bollywood actors.

SSR also changed to Bollywood because of the monotony of the show Pavitra Rishta. Not knowing that even after doing wonderful films he won’t be accepted by Bollywood because he wasn’t in any group or camp of it. No godfather. Chichore was a much better film than Gully Boy. Sushant got caught in the politics of Bollywood. 😢😢

sorry i wrote too much But honestly kdramas are just indian tv shows with less episodes and ost running in background most of kdrama fans only like this type of romantic dramas which has CEO and poor girl which our tv has already had like iss pyaar ko kya naam du like serials except squid game, all of us are dead, seven escape, taxi driver and some regression and time line series although I haven't completed any of them but i know them from webtoons but most famous are romantic type u think indian tv doesn't make it they do but audience is not interested in that like one month ago a psycho killer show trying to marry victims sis was finished I bet no one knows about that show it came and finished but no one gave it recognition and some shows like anupama started with good story but because of its trp they are not ending that show so i stopped watching it it's sometimes audience fault too

I think the main problem is the type of serials they make. Kisi serial ko 7/8 saal tak chalane mein koi sense hi nahi hai. Mujhe lagta hai ye directors aur producers psycho hain shayad. Jab koi itne saal is tarah ke bekaar serials karega to unko usi nazar se dekhne lag jaate hain.

80 percent of tv actors are mediocre and they do monotonous acting..They have limited acting skill..In 80s and 90s so many legendary directors used to work with the tv actors and 80s 90s tv actors were very versatile but after the year 2000 every thing changed..
because TV actor don't have any experimental acting roll .they only deliver dialog and eye expressions everyday, where movie actor doing so much hard acting delivery that is the difference in TV actor and movie actors

Shah Rukh is one overhyped guy. He forgot acting. Haven't seen a single great performance from him since 20 years (Swades). Makes commercial masala films for medicore masses. Still people are using his name for 30+ years to claim an outsider can make it big in Bhandwood. Can you compare this guy with De Niro, Caprio, Tom Hanks and so on?
Bollywood actors are more of "entertainers" whereas the hollywood actors are more of "artists", "performers"... So obviously there's no comparison between SRK and DiCaprio. Both are great and doing their best in their respective fields. Also, don't forget that Hollywood has challenging scripts compared to Bollywood (mass and mediocre).

It's been years since I last watched a bollywood movie with a 'star cast'. Maybe it's because I grew up but bollywood didn't! Nowadays I prefer web series or low budget movies with not so prominent actors.
Because talent , acting skill are not required in Bollywood, I watch at any time an Indian movie or series where Bollywood called stars are not , because they are created stars not skillful actors mostly. It is a big difference between a trained actor and a created star. 😀

Daily soaps have ruined image of actors and many TV actors are caricatured and typecast and many also do not wear good clothes nor work on voice modulation or presentation. SRK, Manoj Bajpai, Alok Nath, Ashutosh Rana, Vidya Balan did hit big league despite being from TV. That is because they worked in weeklies and not daily soaps running for decades and also had theatre background and training from institutes like FTII, NSD etc. But usually TV actors are ham and lack talent and charisma to fit in cinema.
Tv Actors are Talented and far better than Bollywood Super stars like Salman, Shah rukh and Akshay kumar who give their worse in Movies and Just because of Fame their movies get views... TV actors are highly capable of doing any kind of role..they are versatile, no overacting..there are good actors like varun sobti, Mrunal, Vikrant and who goona miss the name of SRK who ruled Bollywood for decades but now onwards they don't treat well to the new tv actors.
Ronit Roy too , he is a fine actor with udaan,ugly and then he does adalat . He deserves more !

SSR also changed to Bollywood because of the monotony of the show Pavitra Rishta. Not knowing that even after doing wonderful films he won’t be accepted by Bollywood because he wasn’t in any group or camp of it. No godfather. Chichore was a much better film than Gully Boy. But honestly kdramas are just indian tv shows with less episodes and ost running in background most of kdrama fans only like this type of romantic dramas which has CEO and poor girl which our tv has already had like iss pyaar ko kya naam du like serials except squid game, all of us are dead, seven escape, taxi driver and some regression and time line series although I haven't completed any of them but i know them from webtoons but most famous are romantic type u think indian tv doesn't make it they do but audience is not interested in that like one month ago a psycho killer show trying to marry victims sis was finished I bet no one knows about that show it came and finished but no one gave it recognition and some shows like anupama started with good story but because of its trp they are not ending that show so i stopped watching it it's sometimes audience fault too

@@PrinceK-dm3xs I really screen the interviews for when a Bollywood actor would open their mouth and praise TV actors at random, they did reels, but, to actually take names of TV actors still on TV, especially in their interviews. Not Smriti Irani though. However, none did that unless they've worked with them or are promoting their movies along with their colleagues who was/is a TV actor. Also, Shaheer Sheikh wasn't even acknowledged in the promo of his upcoming Netflix movie Do Patti, and his screen time in the trailer was rushed!

I think the main problem is the type of serials they make. Kisi serial ko 7/8 saal tak chalane mein koi sense hi nahi hai. Mujhe lagta hai ye directors aur producers psycho hain shayad. Jab koi itne saal is tarah ke bekaar serials karega to unko usi nazar se dekhne lag jaate hain.

usually indian tv shows are quite long and then audience burns down seeing the same face and character they start associating the character with the actor most people know the tv actors by their character's name ,tv shows need to be shorter and dont even start about the condition of indian tv shows

80 percent of tv actors are mediocre and they do monotonous acting..They have limited acting skill..In 80s and 90s so many legendary directors used to work with the tv actors and 80s 90s tv actors were very versatile but after the year 2000 every thing changed..

Not everybody can handle stardom. Stardom is not hardwork, but luckwork. Example Rajnikanth versus Kamal Hasan, Ajith versus Vijay, Surya versus xyz, Rekha versus Bhaduri, Bachan versus Khanna. I think ppl shd be thankful for being there. Vidyut Jamwal is awesome, but he can't handle stardom, bcoz it's a game of black n white, not just white n white.

Shah Rukh is one overhyped guy. He forgot acting. Haven't seen a single great performance from him since 20 years (Swades). Makes commercial masala films for medicore masses. Still people are using his name for 30+ years to claim an outsider can make it big in Bhandwood. Can you compare this guy with De Niro, Caprio, Tom Hanks and so on?

Bollywood actors are more of "entertainers" whereas the hollywood actors are more of "artists", "performers"... So obviously there's no comparison between SRK and DiCaprio. Both are great and doing their best in their respective fields. Also, don't forget that Hollywood has challenging scripts compared to Bollywood (mass and mediocre).

It's been years since I last watched a bollywood movie with a 'star cast'. Maybe it's because I grew up but bollywood didn't! Nowadays I prefer web series or low budget movies with not so prominent actors.
Because talent , acting skill are not required in Bollywood, I watch at any time an Indian movie or series where Bollywood called stars are not , because they are created stars not skillful actors mostly. It is a big difference between a trained actor and a created star. 😀
I would say if they couldn’t succeed in this industry try to work in other industries like south industry at least they will check your talents

Daily soaps have ruined image of actors and many TV actors are caricatured and typecast and many also do not wear good clothes nor work on voice modulation or presentation. SRK, Manoj Bajpai, Alok Nath, Ashutosh Rana, Vidya Balan did hit big league despite being from TV. That is because they worked in weeklies and not daily soaps running for decades and also had theatre background and training from institutes like FTII, NSD etc. But usually TV actors are ham and lack talent and charisma to fit in cinema.
