A Pentatonic Scale that Makes Sense

  • In an insensible world, one man (me) is looking to make sense of the pentatonic scale in a musical way that can be applied on guitar throughout the fretboard. So take off your shoes cause we're going through a fretboard journey!
Hit me up on Twitter: / seandanielmusic
    And Insta: / sean_daniel_music
    www.seandanielmusic.com
    Listen to the new album:
    iTunes: goo.gl/kQCrbv
    Spotify: goo.gl/wd2Wnd
    Bandcamp: goo.gl/RgME6b
    Soundcloud: goo.gl/e8QDYa
    A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his TH-cam channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

I've been playing (scratching) my guitar for 35+ years. In the last two videos you've taught me more about what I could do with a guitar than all those years combined. I'll be taking your lessons faithfully. Hopefully I can send you a video soon. Thank you and keep it up. You've inspired an old man to get back to the music.

Yes sir, like myself, You had *Nothing* to learn from except: A: 1 or 2 ' good ole 1940s Style, "Complete Guitar " books by 'Hal Leonard' ! (Scary part is, He's Still out there Selling 'bad books' (Piano method) ,probably the Only one?)
and, B: Your local Guitar store Instructors, who "Used" books By: The Above rascal ! They'd give you the 'Quick Startup' with *Jingle Bells* or the like! Single notes, only! The Big mistake I made (many of Us) was Refusing to Buy that ole 'IBM 360' computator' ....Just because there was No utube, nor a Display...not to mention a 'Inter - net' ? I always *claimed* that I just didn't have a spare 'Banquet Hall with Mega/AC , to put 'er in!? 'We' would've pissed ourselves over a Tuner!!?
Only trouble NOW is, ole 'Sean' here likely started playing PRO at age 13, so he's So Damn Fast, I can't write it down and need to Watch 10x (Heh!) Plus, He Tries to Hide the Most Important Fingers, i tinks?

Hmmmmm, looking at this with a new eye - busy learning the fretboard along with the various shapes and scales [at last], and throwing off the chains and burden of chords by rote, - that 7 minutes opened it up just that little bit more - and gave the pentatonic, with a twist, an actual use. I'm lapping this sort of material up. Thank you.
