As a tram driver, it's not easy to be involved in such accidents..... It's traumatizing even just a near miss.... We have to compose ourselves immediately before resuming movement.
Pro tip hack: There's a revolutionary piece of tech that can help detect Trams and other oncoming traffic: It's called a Side Mirror. And all cars are equipped with at least 2.

They have to prepare themselves for the drivers antics. They also have to make mental notes for the situation report they would undoubtedly have to write up at the end of their shift.
I mean, it can't be the tram driver's fault unless they break a light, they're on tracks! It's people driving cars who turn into them or get on the tracks. A tram is 10 to 20 times heavier than a car. It's no contest.

It's amazing how many people don't do shoulder checks or even look in their mirrors before making a move. Clearly they should be forced to do their driving test again to get their licence back. That is if the tram hasn't made a pancake out of them.
Many people aren't like us. They don't feel the urge to look before they are going places. Stuff is just going slower in their heads. Some also don't care and think they own road, therefore others will wait and let them pass.
I remember being on a Birmingham tram one day. Some idiot driver decided to pull out in front of the tram and the driver slammed his brakes on. Luckily there was no accident, just some whiplash. The driver got out of the cab to ask if everyone was alright before carrying on to Edgbaston Village.
Only suicidal people would deliberately crash into a tram. By trying to beat a tram you're literally risking your life. Luckily everyone in this video survived with the only injuries being at 0:39 and 1:51 (they were minor by the way)
They do brake if you watch them pull the lever back. But the distance for a tram to stop is way longer than a car. It's insane how people got no respect for a 50ton vehicle coming at them.

Easy mistake to make ! We all know how hard to spot 120 tons of fluorescent yellow tram is, blaring its horn while you’re in its way on the track
120 tons 😂?
There more around 50-45 tons but still

I like the way the driver reaction is " here we go again" and apparently they get something like two weeks off when they have a bump on full pay
If 2 plus 2 is 4 than i’ll split the difference with my friend and his shitty car to bump me once a month

I expected you to say eyes haha. Those also help
I Love how the tram drivers dont even say anything, just put the tram on its brakes and watch how the tram hits the car lol.
The trams are so powerful they didn't even get hurt

nobody elses fault except the car drivers

the cars are not allowed in the lane and must be cautious and because the trrams are non agile, the tram drivers cant do sh!t about it
