I just made it, and it came out beautiful! I had to altere the measurements to fit the ones that my airline admits under the seat . I added a plastic reinforcement to the base that can be snapped on or off, and pockets inbetween both straps in the sides, so I can have my documents and boarding pass handy..., I am so proud, my husband couldn't believe I made it!, So thanks to your tutorial I could make something I never thought I would be able to make in my life, your explanations are so great!, the end result looks so neat and finished I cannot believe it!!

@@IngridProuvot I did two now, and the most challenging part was when I had to sew the lining to the rest of the suitcase, because the seam allowance of the canvas was fraying, the threads where coming apart after so much handling and it was difficult to sew around edges like that. I would suggest, if someone chooses a fabric that does the same as mine and it frays, I would suggest to use a fabric glue around the edges after cutting the pieces and before sewing. I wanted to make a third suitcase and I will use this "anti fraying" idea for my next one.

I love watching you sew . Calming. Your fabric is beautiful. The store I frequent don’t have such beautiful fabric like yours. This is a nice option for girls to take as overnight bag instead of backpack. Soft side makes it easy to carry and store.

If i wanted to make this suitcase stronger like put a lightweight metal frame in what material would i use?
I usually use quilt batting to insert in the middle of the fabric to add strength to the bag.

Made this suitcase with faux leather and the lining was canvas, so didn't have to use the fusible fleece. it is fantastic. I added a slip pocket at the front. This is an easy tutorial to watch and create. Thank you for sharing this.

In the beginning of the lining you did something wrong by putting the first piece with the 3 sacks on the bottom. And when you finished the suitcase you've made another one and put it on the good side

Hi there, I am currently trying to make this case, but I have had to adjust the measurements by widening the case by 13cm to 60cm. I have kept the height the same at 36cm. I am running into a problem though. When I try to fit the pieces together like you are at 9:48, I find that it doesn't align as well as yours. It's like the corners dont fit as tightly as yours do. Something just doesnt seem quite right. I have also added the 13cm to the bottom panel making it 58cm and the longest piece making it 126.5cm. What am I doing wrong?
