    Hi Dr. Mona. I discovered this video two days ago (together w/your video on facial massage) and I decided to dust off my facial roller and gua sha and give them a try. I bought these devices a few years ago and--given my skepticism about everything--I pretty much forgot about them. I watched your video (just for fun) and I followed your rolling, etc., recs religiously yesterday morning and this morning. I was super excited that I could breathe out both nostrils throughout the day after the rolling! Yay! At any rate, at work today a co-worker said to me, "Wow, what did you do? You look so different. So good!" Well, I forgot about the rolling, etc., and mentioned that I'd had my hair colored over the weekend. My coworker (20 years my junior) shook her head and said, "No, not that." She kept looking at my face. Then, she just smiled and shrugged. It couldn't possibly be the roller/gua sha, right? Not after two days, and yet... Wow, I'm hooked. All the best. BTW, I'm in my 60's.

    I can't help but laugh at all the comments about the Dr.'s hair being down. Who cares! The point of the video was how to use these products. Worry about your own hair and if you prefer having it up. Geez People. Complainy Birds

      Actually, I don't think those folks are "Complainy Birds"...folks are looking to get instructions and the hair was getting in the way of her tool. She kept having to move it out of the way. Why not take some suggestions from your viewers and put your hair up the next time so that you don't have to stop your motion to move the hair away? My first time viewing and I thought she did a good job but truthfully, because of the hair action, I thought she cared more about how her hair looked so this will be it for me.

    If this is the only video you watch, I really suggest you go find some more videos. She's not finishing the movement, not pushing the lymph all the way out with the roller. It should either be directed down the neck like she showed, or directed to the top of the rear across the temple

    I have a question about the direction of Gua Sha on the neck. With regards to the neck, why is the Gua Sha used in an upward motion compared to the jade roller in a downward motion? Thank you so much! Gina

    • @ingridelknermusic
      @ingridelknermusic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I wondered that too. Everything else I've seen emphasises downward motion for lymphatic drainage. You always want to be moving lymph towards the heart.

    • @cuca_
      @cuca_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's to do with tightening the skin and preventing wrinkles. It's a trade off between lymphatic drainage and firming the skin... :/ I think what I'll do it upwards first, to firm the neck, and then finish of downwards to encourage drainage. Let me know anyone if this is really wrong xD

    I use my Gua Sha as a way to help me ease my anxiety. Do you think there are any concerning issues if I use it daily and through out the day?

    Please tell me; is there a significant reason we should wiggle the gua sha tool at the end of each stroke? Or is it not necessary? Thank you for your time and awesome help ;>

    On your neck, use upward movements with the Gua Sha and downward movements with the jade roller?? For lymphatic drainage, I thought you would have to go downwards.

      To be clear, most of the jade rollers are not true jade stone. They are a simulated jade which is much cheaper. Real jade is very rare . Much love! 💓
