I just luvvv this city - can you imagine cruisin' thru L.A. in a 1966 Rambler? Whatta feeling that was; brings back my best memories. Thanx so much 4 upping this!!!
We need some sunset drive videos of LA, bro. There's nothing more relaxing and beautiful than driving on a Summer afternoon with the orange glow cascading down the LA backdrop. Man... I miss living in LA.
Just love all of your videos, @ScrewdUPClickV2. Love seeing all the wonders of American transportation! And especially with the Trance music that you put with them. I have half the songs you use in my library, and it's usually what i'd be listening to while driving :) Keep up the good work.
I loved it. It was astounding to watch! I've never been to LA but I really, really feel like going there sometime. And the way this video was made was fantastic, made a normal road alot more interesting along with the music aswell! Again, I loved it :D
Another fantastic video, just like ALL the rest of them, Each time when I see a rig towing a flat bed trailer, it keeps reminding me of a funny video I saw concerning one, The video show one going down the highway, and all that was on the flatbed trailer was a single Tonka construction truck, I mean the ones kids play with, looked so dang strange seeing this big long trailer going down the road and then seeing that on the trailer...LOL
I think it's awesome Caltrans is still lighting its overhead signs... so many states have gone to reflective signs and have taken all the lights down. I just miss how nice it looks.
Aniket Rudraksha True, all nice cities have there bad parts. However, you have to keep in mind that Los Angeles attracts the homeless from all over the country because of the near perfect weather. Not to cold, hardly ever rains, not super hot, etc. That is part of the reason why so many homeless people are in SoCal Apart from the few bad areas, the vast majority of the city (and state for that matter) is beautiful. Way nicer than the average places in the rest of the country. LA is a normal city if you add palm trees, Hollywood, great weather, super wealthy people and celebrities with mansions in certain neighbourhoods, beaches, Disney Land, and the population ranking it #2 in the nation.
@FreewayTitan I've met many of them in college and the consensus seems to be that they hated it down there but once they moved out they started missing it. The city might be expensive, congested, smoggy and "sprawly," but it enjoys year-round nice weather (which, trust me, they start appreciating once temperatures rise above 90 or dip below 20 wherever they are) and it is California after all. It's certainly not a city for everyone, but hey, a ton of people call it home :p
I am in central cal and I have not been able to travel down to so cal for the past 3 years now unfortunately, but god, this video relives just the drive their instantly.
@Bryant5493: That's the lightest traffic I've *ever* seen at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. It's usually stop-and-go on the 405, from the 101, all the way down to LAX at that hour.
Nice like a trip... must be good behind the wheel. Full tank of oil, and full bag of beer right next to you... no one to disturb. That is the perfect drive.
@101not5: I was thinking the same thing. ScrewdUPClickV2 and I had this discussion already, and we concluded that it was because he filmed this on the Memorial Day getaway on a Friday evening. It was truly surreal to see such light traffic on the 405 freeway at 8 p.m., in this video.
When you shoot your video, do you use your camcorder's cinematic mode or this is just the regular mode? I was in the SonyStyle store at the mall yesterday and looked at this camcorder, it is quite a remarkable piece of equipment. I mean sure the price is steep but look at the results.
Unbelievable! I vistied L.A. for the first time to visit a freind in Sherman Oaks and I stayed at LAX. I cannot believe the 405 was so uncongested, especially through Santa Monica!
@FreewayTitan I've lived here in L.A. all my life and I love this city. But you're right, it is very overpopulated. That is one thing I don't like about it here, as well as many others for that reason. At any hour of the day you can rest assure you'll run into traffic somewhere... this city never sleeps. People don't like it cause it is also expensive to live here. But on the flip side, great weather year round.
@ScrewdUPClickV2 How large are your video files usually when you upload them to TH-cam? Mine are often in excess of 1 GB, it takes a while to upload them.
@ScrewdUPClickV2 No shit? You know what, I can believe it, almost. I stayed at LAX and drove on the 405, 101, 134, 210, 605, 5 etc. and I did notice that each of these freeways have their very own "rush hour," and at different times of the day! I'm still shocked that you recorded this on a Friday night, and I'll say it again - no traffic through SANTA MONICA???? I had a hell of a time from Wilshire to
BEAUTIFUL CITY, I gotta visit again but its fun as hell down here in Miami BUT I gotta make a trip out west to kick it with the fam again its been a while.
Yo, Screwed, please tell me you're driving a stick shift import! Because that's the best way to drive (day or night) and electronic music just completes the sentiment! Just wondering! Anyhow, bro, amazing vid, music, and overall feel! I SALUTE YOU, SIR! God Bless!
Los Santos home of the Los Santos Santos warrior kings in Ultimate Supreme Football, the los Santos Santos, Mondu (Anaheim) in PLH (NHL), the Los Santos Hounds Of Hell as Dodge move to Madrid (Havana Cuba) as Break in MLB, the Los Santos Wakers, Los Santos Pace Sound in PLB (NBA)
I initially thought this is more like a drive at dusk but on a second thought, I found it starts turning pretty darker, so it's night driving video after all. lol
I always ascribed to that maxim "give Credit where credit is due, however... 1) this video gives me mixed feelings. The scenery is a nice experience, running through dusk to night, especially for a retired person whese career and more led him through over 1 million Km. not to mention many fly and drive episodes in languages and 3 countries, fair weather and foul. The syncopation serves getting this amount of tour into a limited playtime which may well be a requirement to get it on You Tube. Having downloaded it, I might get time to experiment with de-syncopating it (I think by about 4 to 1) so I can also peruse the highway signs, having never had the chance to get to L.A. in person. However, on the other side of the coin, while I did say I agree with Giving credit where credit is due, be it said that while that much is intended to be unconditional, at the same time a balanced remark might well also include any alternate reservations or trepidations that appear to be so accrued. In this case, the reservations relate to the uncouth paroidy of Metro-goldwyn-Mayer's lion logo, etc. The use of the F word and associated emotional depictions really lacked good taste. I have seen enough of the U.S. to be aware that in virtualy no time and with no prior warning one can experience all of the good, the Bad and The Ugly, however for all that is less than exhilaratinjg, one might refrain from exacerbating. America has been up, and now is more down, but, in being "the last" as it were, it can again be first, but in the interim, globally, there are others which also need their turn at that, providing they are reasobably williing to work for it. As a prediction, I think if that does not have its turn, the while world will be the losers, albeit that may happen after I have departed, so at that juncture, I would have little more to lose myself!
More than 11 years later I still watch this video frequently. One of my favorite videos on TH-cam... EVER
Probably my most favorite highway video.
7 years later, this is still my favourite highway video of all time.
I was in Los Angeles back in 2014. It was my first time there.😊
Thank you.

Thanks for the ride! Some might disagree, but I think L.A. is a beautiful city.
Looks very amazing at night time.
Remembers me of my 2005 trip through the South-West of the USA. But Los Angeles is amazing big and off course a famous city

"It's a nice drive [on the 405]... when there is no traffic..."
Right, because that happens often. ^.^

California=Most scenic place on the planet. Maybe not as majestic as say, Alaska, but for variety, can't beat it.
My favorite video on TH-cam.
Ah, the power of electronic music!
I loved it. It was astounding to watch! I've never been to LA but I really, really feel like going there sometime. And the way this video was made was fantastic, made a normal road alot more interesting along with the music aswell! Again, I loved it :D
Your videos are amazing I can't wait to see what cities are next!

One thing to say before I watch the video: The intro was LMAO funny!!!!
I think it's awesome Caltrans is still lighting its overhead signs... so many states have gone to reflective signs and have taken all the lights down. I just miss how nice it looks.
i am planning to move to LA soon, and i must say your night tour video really did it for me :)
