I've been to the car a couple times. First time was years ago before we even considered doing anything for youtube. We did exactly as you mentioned and had brought every clear photo we could find of the car and were able to match up every hole seen in the photos. This is without a doubt the actual car.
Was there a month ago, we went to goodsprings Nevada also, to the pioneer saloon, really cool old neighbourhood, can't believe I missed the Bonnie and Clyde car. Thanks for the video.
We saw the car in March of 2015 at Whiskey Pete's in Primm. We questioned the shirt as well. We did not question the authenticity of the car because we did not think that the Casino would take up that much valuable floor space for something that was not authentic lol - We just took pictures, we did not have video of our visit to the car. Thank you for posting :-)
In the 90's the Car was in the Jefferson City highway patrol office for a time before it was shipped to another area. I was fortunate enough to see it while it was housed in there. I was literally as close maybe a little closer to it as you were Adam. Still amazing to see after all these years.
I believe this is actually, the actual car that they were actually driving when the were actually shot. That shirt may actually be the actual shirt Clyde was actually wearing. ; )
WRONG!!! clyde was not in the vehicle. He was driving stopped got out, bonnie shifted into the driver seat, clyde tried to rush back to her and that's when they were shot
To be clear, Hamer said he thought he detected a slight pulse in her neck when he opened the car door. But she was unconscious soon after the shooting started.
I have watched so many of your videos the last couple of days since I found your channel, I'm just pretty amazed at some of the things you've seen. I'm from the UK and I have never heard of little museums on the back roads. Although I've been in Shakespeare's house where he was a child. 1 bedroom for all of them and they had a good number of kids too!
Saw it years ago.Whiskey Petes.Didnt want to leave.I was blown away by its awesomeness. They had the letter Clyde wrote to Henry Ford, praising him for the strength and durability of the car.
I loved going to see this memorabilia when it was in Boom Town for years. The only had velvet ropes around the car then. If you get the chance to check it, do it! Great video!!!
My guess is that the exit holes on the passenger side were made by Ted Hinton's Browning Automatic rifle. Those same steel-jacketed shells probably took off Bonnie's right hand as well. Thanks for posting - I've always wanted to see the car.
I saw the same car around 1968 in Boise, idaho. It was being hauled around the country in a enclosed trailer. I was 8 yr. old at the time and my parents took me to the K-mart parking lot to see it. I don't remember if they had too pay admission but I don't think so.
Adam, I used to make regular trips between California and Utah. Stopped to see the car several times, and I concur with you that it's legit. There also used be an Al Capone armored limousine there which was shot up as well. I love roller coasters, but am in no hurry to ride desperado again. Great video, thanks for posting.
Hi Adam, This car which was titled "The Bonnie and Clyde" car was on display at the Red River Exhibition in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada in the 80s as a paid exhibit and was billed as "The Bonnie and Clyde Death Car" so I guess it's got around, if its the same car!
in the mid 1970's this car traveled the country in an enclosed semi trailer. visiting town fairs and festivals. they would charge a buck to walk in and see it. had velvet ropes around it but you could still touch it. I saw it in traverse city, mi. during cherry festival, if I remember right. it looked the same as it does now. there was a second display trailer featuring Joseph Stalins Zil limousine at same location.
+daryl turbot Thats a really interesting factoid :) As soon as I saw the title of this Vlog, I vaguely remember seeing it at one of the state fairs I went to awhile back.
+231flash we lived in Cedar. from 1969 to 1974. I believe I saw the cars in the Meijers parking lot. (which was actually W.T.Grant dept. store back then.) the meijer plaza was a lot different in those days.
About 10 years ago when I was at whiskey pete's they didn't have the glass fence around the car, they only had rope surrounding it..they also had one of Al Capone's bullet proof Lincoln's sitting there too.
I went to the local grocery store shopping center as a young boy with my mother and aunt to view this car in Lake Charles, La. This was in the mid 60's.. they had the car on a trailer and would tow it around to different locations promoting the local business.
little tip.. when walking on carpet, touch wood, wall, glass, something to ground yourself before touching metal, you release the static by touching the non conductive item. I have a horrid amount of static electricity in my body, I wear rubber soled shoes too much, I don't drain it, I can kill a wind up watch in 3 days. it needs all new works to repair, I'm that bad. try it, it works!
The configuration of those bullet holes, in addition to the known direction of vehicle travel answer the question you raised in your vlog from the shooting site as to which side of the road the lawmen shot from.
Something else worth adding about the damage to the car that day. The posse had some problem coming up with 2 BARs. It's said Hinton held the only BAR at the ambush. Oakley fired early after leaping down onto the road from concealment, and ended more or less in front of the car. He held a dentist's big-game rifle with a 5-shot clip. One round hit the windshield post and the next one hit Clyde through the head or neck and is thought to be the kill shot. The car rolled forward from that moment, and the rest of the men opened up jointly as the car rolled by. 3 of the 6 men, including Hamer, held auto-load shotguns loaded with heavy buckshot. Many if not most of the holes in the car were from these shotguns. As many as 120 or more large-gauge pellets were in the total lead collection from the 3 shotguns. Using these shotguns was smart work, as a blizzard of pellets would certainly do short work at close range. The other rifles held no more than 20 rounds (BAR), I think only 5 for the Remington 8. A Winchester supposedly there, as well as some automatic pistols. There is dispute on who used what, and some of them fired more than one gun. They may not have taken time to re-load, but used multiple weapons laid out in readiness.Their story was that Oakley jumped out and yelled for them to surrender, and when he opened up, the rest of the men didn't know whether Clyde was the one shooting, so they all gave 'em hell as the car went along from the clutch-dump Clyde probably did as he died. Even right after the ambush, each man already told varying versions of the story. One interesting thing is the truck used was said to be a truck with no cab, just the seat and steering wheel, with a gin-pole trailer set-up ( I'd guess like a tractor-trailer) actually bought and given to Ivy Methvin by Clyde so he could go out and harvest long pine logs for the paper or power-pole companies that were in the area. The truck blocked the right lane of this rutted road facing the wrong way in hopes it would provide a choke-point and force cars to the left side, nearer the concealed men, and slow them to a crawl. They could tell the car coming was a V-8 by the sound, and Hinton could supposedly tell for sure if Clyde and Bonnie were in it. They were supposed to be keeping an appointment at Methvin's place, and Clyde was known for being punctual, so they had a good idea, anyway!
In 1975, I came through Nevada and stopped at 'The Last Chance Casino'. They had the death car in a room that cost one Silver Dollar to see. The car was completely rusted and had only rusty springs for the seats. There was a sign that read, "One million dollars to anyone that can prove that this car is not the original car". I too spent a couple of hours comparing newspaper pictures on the wall, of the car. They all seemed to match. Also, a sign stated the car was in such bad shape from years of being taken around the country on an open trailer. If the car features here is that car, they have painted it and did a restoration. In the pictures of the time, you can see the upholstery was shredded from the bullets.
I remember seeing that car about 10 year's ago when we were trucking. my son and I would go and look at it for hours as his dad gambled. At the time they bad it in a back room and another car that was older that I can't remember what the story was on it. I believe it's real also. 🐾🐾🐺🐾🐾👍
yes i have been to primm and seen the car myself and my mom said she remembers seeing the car as a little girl after the ambush and she said there was fresh blood and hair and on it,, love your videos Adam,, wish i could join u,, love exploring,
I've been on the desperado!!!! terrifying!! thats a great place to stop when traveling from California to Las Vegas by car! thanks for the video Adam!!
That is the Actual Car. I saw the car here in Brewton, Alabama in 1976 or 1977 at the Grant City Department Store Parking Lot. In the mid 1970's the owners of the Car had a contract with the W.T. Grant Department Stores all over the United States. They brought the Car to all of the Grant City Department Stores in a display trailer. It stayed at each store for 5 days in the Parking lots. I still have the postcards that my dad bought for me of the car. I was about 10 or 11 at the time. It was pretty morbid seeing all the dried blood inside the car. I had a few nightmares after that! lol. In the 1980's and 1990's the car was displayed at Fairs, Carnivals, and Casino's. It finally found it's permanent home there at the Casino in Prim where it is displayed now.
20 or so years ago I was at this casino and I remember the car was actually displayed in the front window then. Also for some odd reason I recall it having a purplish tint to it. But that could've been the lighting. And I'm surprised they took "panes" to replace the windows (pardon the stupid pun) even after the car was riddled with bullets anyway, including one on the opposite side showing some "exit wounds", unless it is the original, maybe it is. But it just seemed counter intuitive to me. Overall though a cool little exhibit and great vlog. ;)
That is indeed the original car...Ted Hinton marked the inside of a fender right after the ambush and later verified this as the actual car. It was also used in The Great American race years ago, more as a novelty than a racer.
The car was on tour for years at carnivals etc then sold at auction in 1973 for $176,000 to whisky petes casino. I actually have the auction catalog and all the paperwork. Awesome car! It is the real deal.
I googled it and I agree, from those pictures they match up. Sadly when you type "Bonnie and Clyde death car" you get lots of pictures of the car today and not as many from when it happened! But a picture I found still actually had Clyde dead in the car, it wasn't a pretty picture! With the top it could be if it's been washed, blood doesn't just disappear! It usually goes darker as it dries!!
They had a huge standoff a few years back in Primm between some New California Republic soldiers and some escaped convicts. Luckily everything worked out ok.
I saw this back in '92. It didn't have a cage around it at that time, and you could look into it. The seats are covered, but there are still some dark stains. My interest has some family history involved. My father was in school in Oklahoma back then and after the shooting, the car was loaded onto a trailer and towed everywhere, not as a tourist attraction but to show the people that law enforcement could deal with the road bandits and robbers terrorizing the country. They would cross county and state lines to avoid capture and seemed unstoppable. Anyway, back then grade school let out so the kids could have a gander. Dad said it was shot up and a lot of bloody rags were in the back seat. I don't know where they came from, as the only occupants were in the front. His speculation, over the years, is that since all things of value were taken by the Hamner's posse a few remaining articles of clothing were used to mop up the blood from the front seat so the car could be driven onto the trailer it was towed around on. When I saw it I remembered his statement and I wish I could get more info from anybody who saw this too but it's too late, almost all are dead or memories impaired. I did like the letter from Clyde about his preference of car to steal!
Wow,they riddled that car up.talk about making sure they didn't continue on there crime spree.that has to be the car, awesome Adam.thanks for the video, keep them coming....
I was at Whisky Petes the year they started displaying that car. Back then they only had a red rope keeping guests from touching the car. Even got a commerative coin. To cool.
I think the windshield had to be replaced because all of the bullet holes in the original window made it unstable and could break and chard and cut people. So I think they replaced all the glass in the car for safety reasons.
The reason there's no blood on it is because the family washed it thoroughly when they got Clyde's belongings back, and then put it away for safekeeping for several decades, until his youngest sister Marie donated it to this museum.
I've been to Whiskey Pete's Casino in Primm and have seen that car. It's pretty cool if its the actual car. And funny that it's free to see it, unlike everything else in Vegas where I live.
Adam you ask a question from time to time. Have you ever thought about having a contest and giving away a shirt or trucker hat? I have just started watching you and enjoy your videos.
Would be great if some light was shed on the scene. If you can't increase lighting or change aperture then just take some good still long exposure shots from every angle. Think you should visit this again with the better gear you now have.
Back in the 70s i got to see the car up close, you could touch the car see blood in the seat. it was going around the country and stop in Tennessee and was shiped around in a big truck.
I was there last week. They moved the car to another part of the casino. I too verified that the bullet holes match. I believe the vehicle is authentic.
Saw the car New Years day 1999 when we drove 5-10 mph all the way through the desert back to Ca. in bumper to bumper traffic, stopping off at Buffalo Bill`s after 2 hours out of LV.
I don't remember then vlog number, but took my kids to the death site just a couple months before you did. It's 20 minutes from my house. The police monument was not there when we went.
Yes, sir! That is definitely the real deal! Very unfortunate it is way the heck out in Nevada when it should be either in Gibsland or Arcadia, Louisiana where it would be much more appreciated. I live very close to the city of Waldo, Arkansas where they dropped off a couple whom they kidnapped. I live a couple hours from the ambush site. Again, do wish the car was in Louisana. What a shame. Btw, also lived in Joplin a couple years as well. Way before the big tornado of course.
Cars legit. My mom saw this car in Alabama in the 40's at the local theatre when she was a child. She said they took it on tour and would show a short film on B & C before the movie.
I live in DFW and have been out to their old neighborhood and other iconic spots around here relating to them. Kind of a surreal scavenger hunt when I fist moved out to Texas. I don't know if that's the car or not, but I'd imagine that much proof is hard to argue against.
I like this real attention to detail, your right it's the real car and some windows have been changed. It's a shame that it's been messed about with eg engine replacement for the rally it went in and stickers. Good video
hey adam loved this video this stuff is so interesting to be and by the way it was vlog #706 that u did the death spot of bonnie and clyde thanks for the video adam!!!!
I saw that car there at the casino. I have researched it. The bullet holes in the casino car matches the photos of the car the day they were killed. The match exactly. It was real creepy seeing Cydes bullet hole ridden shirt with blood stains there in the casino.
Thats the car...lost of history with my family. my great grandpa Andrews did the funeral. he's,in the video in front of Bonnie's coffin holding the bible. Its a quick clip but super cool. then my grandpa took me to one of the shoot out sites in Missiouri.. lots of family back east. sometimes, the car does tour..And yea the one back east is a replica.
new drinking game: take a shot every time he says “the Bonnie and Clyde death car”
Primm, Nevada? you mean that place in Fallout:New Vegas was actually a real place!???
+logan kerr I thought the same thing!
I saw that car in 2010
Yep... Now There ar- OH GOD RADROACHES!
logan kerr yes its is relly so is goodsprings
Adam needs to get on this: "Real-life locations from Fallout: New Vegas."

Bonnie Parker was my Grandma's cousin. My stepmom is currently researching our genealogy and is collecting more info about it. Kinda crazy huh?
She is an ancestor of a friend of mine also.
:) neat!
Angel Crowley that is cool!
Angel Crowley weird, she was my great grandmothers cousin.
im related to queen Elizabeth, no joke i actually am
I believe this is actually, the actual car that they were actually driving when the were actually shot. That shirt may actually be the actual shirt Clyde was actually wearing. ; )
I saw this car displayed at the 1969 Philadelphia Auto Show. It was also where I fell in love with the Mach I Mustang.
when they opened the door bonnie was still alive and all most fell out. they pushed her back in on clyde where she died
lmao
Right
WRONG!!! clyde was not in the vehicle. He was driving stopped got out, bonnie shifted into the driver seat, clyde tried to rush back to her and that's when they were shot
To be clear, Hamer said he thought he detected a slight pulse in her neck when he opened the car door. But she was unconscious soon after the shooting started.

Wow a v8 and such a light body---must have just flew down the roads--Clyde was know for picking the fastest, well built cars made at the time ....
Yes Adam that is the car. I've seen it many times over the years in different places!
We drove past this place while heading to hollywood from vegas last month.damm pitty we didnt stop here.

+daryl turcott I saw it then I was 6
+daryl turbot Thats a really interesting factoid :) As soon as I saw the title of this Vlog, I vaguely remember seeing it at one of the state fairs I went to awhile back.
+daryl turcott I live in the Traverse City,Michigan area. I lived on Monroe Street near Munson Hospital and recently moved to Thompsonville.
+231flash we lived in Cedar. from 1969 to 1974. I believe I saw the cars in the Meijers parking lot. (which was actually W.T.Grant dept. store back then.) the meijer plaza was a lot different in those days.
+daryl turcott Do you know any of the Popas from Cedar? I'm a Popa , my dad grew up in Cedar.
About 10 years ago when I was at whiskey pete's they didn't have the glass fence around the car, they only had rope surrounding it..they also had one of Al Capone's bullet proof Lincoln's sitting there too.

Yes I stayed there and the car was there in 1989 but it didn't have it glassed in. That was a sight to see.
Nice video Adam! That casino was recreated for the game Fallout New Vegas in the town of Primm. They even had the Bonnie and Clyde car in the game.
...and the roller coaster across the street.
they've added to the display and the glass surrounding the car is new but still cool that it's there, like always great video
+Beatriz Sanchez it still is cool indeed. Thanks for watching

The primm slim is my dad.
me too lol

that video was on 6/7/14 # 706, when you went out and found the spot where they were killed !
+Kerry Ward
I think you should win Adam The Woo's white sunglasses!
they are cool sun glasses ! lol. thanks hitch
Very cool, thanks for sharing this, it is something that has also been of great interest to me for many years.
Great part of history you shared with us. thanks for making us a part of your adventures!
Its amazing how many scrapes those two got themselves out of and that posse at the end took no chances.

I was there just a few weeks ago and I did the same thing! I pulled up photos from the scene and matched up holes! Such a cool video and relic
I seen the car when I was a kid u was able to still touch it in the 80s it still tours around I been hooked on the story ever since
Great Vid Adam, FYI it was day 706 6/7/14
Been there done that. Very cool to see a piece of history in person.
Hi Adam
the shock your getting when you touch metal is from the carpet as you walk you pick up static electricity from the carpet.
I love that I've been watching you long enough now that when you talk about old vlogs, I totally remember them!

I've been there before, very interesting.. Glad you enjoyed it
The shock is from the static electricity from walking on the polyester carpets plus the dry air in casinos.
4 minutes in, yes we get it Adam, it's the real one.
As he said in so many words, some people aren't convinced it's the actual car.
I was wondering where they put the car. Before Primm had it showcased in the walkway between the mall and casino. Awesome video!
Ive not seen any of your videos for a few years now ill have to catch up with some of your videos.
20 or so years ago I was at this casino and I remember the car was actually displayed in the front window then. Also for some odd reason I recall it having a purplish tint to it. Clyde's favorite getaway car was the Ford V-8. He liked it so much, he wrote a letter of appreciation to Henry Ford.

Yes I was there in 2008 for a seminar for the area I worked in. Bufflo bills
They had a huge standoff a few years back in Primm between some New California Republic soldiers and some escaped convicts. Luckily everything worked out ok.
Jon S fucking epic comment, the sniper on the coaster was satan for noob me on my first playthrough

Wow,they riddled that car up.talk about making sure they didn't continue on there crime spree.that has to be the car, awesome Adam.thanks for the video, keep them coming....
next time your in Waco TX swing by the Texas Rangers museum, they have the guns removed from the car on display.
Keep on truckin Adam. Lets get your views climbing!
The shirt is 100% authentic because the certificate is signed by Clyde's sister Marie
The reason there's no blood on it is because the family washed it thoroughly when they got Clyde's belongings back, and then put it away for safekeeping for several decades, until his youngest sister Marie donated it to this museum.
If i was gonna fake something. Those are the fake words id use.
It is really one
Very cool Adam! If you say it is so that is good enough for me. That is a interesting display.
It's the carpet, you're probably building up static from walking across the large area of carpet in the casino.
In the warren Beatty movie, the guy who shot them down was played by uncle Jessie ( Denver Pyle ) from dukes of hazard.
Adam the Woo, master of suspense.
Would be great if some light was shed on the scene. If you can't increase lighting or change aperture then just take some good still long exposure shots from every angle. Think you should visit this again with the better gear you now have.
Back in the 70s i got to see the car up close, you could touch the car see blood in the seat. it was going around the country and stop in Tennessee and was shiped around in a big truck.
very cool! would love to see it myself someday!!
I love the story Rest In Peace
I looked at police video, compared still pics...bullet holes look very authentic.
I don't remember then vlog number, but took my kids to the death site just a couple months before you did. It's 20 minutes from my house. The police monument was not there when we went.
The glass in the car was replaced because it was all smashed from bullets. Also, Bonnie had more bullet wounds than Clyde -- that's what I read.
I did the same thing as you and matched the holes too pics from the shoot out and the holes match.
The static electricity is from the carpeting in the casino, and your shuffling gait.
I live in DFW and have been out to their old neighborhood and other iconic spots around here relating to them. Kind of a surreal scavenger hunt when I fist moved out to Texas. I don't know if that's the car or not, but I'd imagine that much proof is hard to argue against.
My parents saw the car near Gatlinburg TN when it was on that truck tour.
Adam, I always get shocked as well in casinos. Drives you nuts. Also yes that is definitely the real car.
Awsome video adam! Ive always wanted to see that car
I like this real attention to detail, your right it's the real car and some windows have been changed. It's a shame that it's been messed about with eg engine replacement for the rally it went in and stickers. Good video
I believe your vlog was 706. I hate getting shocked it is an every day occurance in my home.
hey adam loved this video this stuff is so interesting to be and by the way it was vlog #706 that u did the death spot of bonnie and clyde thanks for the video adam!!!!
I don't know why but I am highly interested in videos like these before this I was watching videos about Al Capone's car I love vids like this
Hello Adam. I’ve been there & seen the Car! Thnx, CJ
That sound effect.. shonk shonk shonk shonk.. 💜
I saw that car there at the casino. I have researched it. The bullet holes in the casino car matches the photos of the car the day they were killed. The match exactly. It was real creepy seeing Cydes bullet hole ridden shirt with blood stains there in the casino.
Very cool Adam. Love the history of Bonnie & Clyde.
awesome Adam thank you!
They used to haul that car around and display it at malls. I saw it in Montgomery, Alabama in the early 70's.
I seen this in NewPort ore in the 70's at the museum when it was on tour
It's been a while, but we detoured there just to see the car!
