Chinese resort fined for damaging Fijian mangroves and coral reef | The World

A Chinese resort company has been fined $AUD650,000 for unauthorised developments, and destroying extensive parts of a reef in Fiji. The fine was handed down by the Suva High Court against the company Freesoul which had been planning a multimillion-dollar resort on the island of Malolo. Journalist Lice Movono was in court for the sentencing and tells The World the outcome is unprecedented in Fiji.
