Initially, I felt that the colour grading and lighting were overdone. But later, I realized that it is part of the theme of the movie.
For the first time, got to see someone spotting the clues in 60 minutes film..

Here is my take.
The only reality part is where Sam and K meet and the one night stand that follows. After the one night stand K asks her if he can use this in his script.
So everything else we see is what K writes in the script and how he develops the script with a lot of random non linear ideas. We are just subjected to K "the writer's mind".
Many of the scenes that unfold are a reflection of the characteristic of K. This can be specially noticed in the scene where they run aimlessly in the rain which is K's idea in the first place and what Sam found to be stupid and childish until then. All the continuity errors are a part of how a first draft of a script would be, with enough details but not concrete and to the T.
It's very vague and abstract.
That's the reason we see both the fortune teller and the psychiatrist played by the same actor since the writer wouldn't imagine faces for all the characters he writes.
K exhibits commitment issues in reality, while they have earth shattering sex, he also says to her not to expect it to happen again.
While in the script K writes, he chooses to stay with her ignoring his audition which is a figment of his imagination.
After the one night stand maybe K went ahead chasing his own dreams of acting and making the movie and Sam went ahead trying to change the world being an artist.
A film by K is where the first draft of the script ends and that is all that we see.
I found some interesting clues
1. The shirt K wore in climax is the same one that he wears at the start of movie.
2. In the second breakup scene where Sam is crying in balcony there are two snakes eating their own tail image at the back. Maybe the screenplay is in a loop.
3. When Sam tells K that she had an abortion there is a very minute cut in the movie when K lights the cigar, I mean it looks someone had deleted like 1second of the movie, so that you wont notice until u look deeply! I thought K reacted badly to this but Sam changed it so there is a cut between the truth and the manipulated story.
4. In the same scene K wears a shirt with quote "look closely to SEE" maybe these are the continuity errors?
5. These small cuts are everywhere when Sam looks at K for the first time, When sam meets k in the hospital she opens the door twice. Continuity errors?
6. This one is way too far fetched but here it goes....In sooriyan thondruthu samathile song in rain there is this shot where camera faces car headlights and first time Sam goes second time K goes and then again K goes for the third time . There was this continuity error and then I thought maybe this was the Accident scene in which K went to coma or dies. Just after this scene Sam meets joshiyakaari who in reality is the therpaist and says they can never be together because K is dead or in Coma. This was my door, 1001th door.
But no coherent story could be made out from these clues so Im just leaving it here hope someone finds out the puzzle.
I noticed that 1 second deleted while she talks about abortion. It was definitely intentional..
In the WhatsApp chat Sam's reply was 1.29 pm while k's chat was at 1.28 am this is too tricky

My theory : KumaraRaja gave us a beautiful, interesting, UNSOLVABLE PUZZLE... Even if you dont understand the entire story as a whole, You were still amazed by every 'bits and pieces' scene (singular)... Thus achieving his goal. "A story need not be explained. Viewers can have their own version..."
What if Sam and K are same person and different personality?
It might be a Multiple personality disorder, one is writer/director K another one is Sam.
The Romance is the passion for her character/personality K and she is under medication for this mental health issues.
And the Climax is the relapse of the mental.condition😅

But pay attention to whether it was raining when she shuts the door. If. It was raining then the character shuts the door and "A film by K' is a part of the script. But it wasn't raining. So that angle isnt right also .

Mind blown review... 👏... What if there is no reality. There is a chance that everything in the film is hallucinations except the script. What if Sam is an upcoming director who is so obsessed that she couldn't get a chance and that makes her so depressed and that script made her to believe there is a real K and Sam. Everytime Sam tries to get out of this trauma goes deeper into it and makes her feel everything is so real.
This entire story is about how many stories u can make out of it. Even Sam told she cracked a storyline "heroine's revenge story".
Clearly K told , the whole story is about "edhu reality , nu namburadhu".
So which one u choose ?

Also I read some alien theory which was interesting though. Her DP in chat, talking about human beings, telling about northie girl downstairs (which may be alien mirunalini in super deluxe) to get a clarity I watched super deluxe; in that movie she mentioned her friend just passed away his name was Kishore. It may be “K” 😅 also a background noise of fruit and veggie selling came in super deluxe as well so both the stories happened at the same time. Atlast sam mentioned shooting star as there’s he, it may be alien which is visible to her alone.. 🤷🏻♀️ Only TK knows the story not even god.

I think Thiagaraja sir left to the audience to crack the story cause when I read the comments everyone has there own perspective we all can end the mystery and solve the puzzle it’s all up to the way we take it. And I loved this episode the genius mind Thiagaraja sir always surprises us with some amazing stories and screenplays

This movie is making me hallucinating 😫. I was thinking too deep and somehow i had to make some story out of it myself so that I can move on from TK universe.
I have just settled with simple storyline where they didnt have any breakup.
I believe the psychiatrist is real. Sam and K met in some shooting spot, clicked and living together. K is the screenwriter and has a story script.
They are too deep in love and when they were told that they ll not be together by Josiyar (which I feel is real. Using same character for psychiatrist and Josiyar might be just coincidence. TK would hv thought like let me just reuse this artist and let these audience break their head to do some nonsense decoding 😆 😆 ), Sam keeps thinking about it and goes to extreme to find the strength of their relationship and realises that nothing could ever break them up. Hence I believe that they didnot breakup at all. Also, Sam still have K's stuffs with her which proves that they didnt breakup.
But somehow K met with an accident(may be some other way) and died. In order to cope up with his lose, she is hallucinating with K's script. In Sam and K's 1st meet, he would have mentioned 3 breakup scenes and 1 patch up scene. So all the 3 breakup scene (1st breakup after sex, 2nd where K leaves Sam for something she did and last bar breakup scene. Last is the 1 patch up scene in rain) are just halluciantion. Also there is no clear mention of breakup reason meaning that there is nothing that could ever break them up except death.
I am settled with this storyline and NOP is just a story of how Sam is handling K's lose.
If TK could make such a deep movie just with the concept of love, then Christopher Nolan is far behind TK. (No offense Nolan fans).
How come psychiatrist can be real when her scenes are typed in script book
The scenes are littered with clues and props. Front door with/without surfboard, face statue/picture frame on side table next to the bed, of course dried/healthy cactus, with/without bird tattoos all are meant to guide us if the particular scene we are seeing is from the movie script or is real.

Apart from decoding the story, there were some interesting alternate (cinema) reality creating movements available. I notice two of them. One is the story introduce us a new(unavailable in reality) brand name for the cigarates they smoke. ( cancer kuchigal)
And at the roadside tea shop, the news pamplet reads about a sensational news of missing of thousands of cats.

Its very clear that all the scenes are just the thought process of a Creator who is writing the script or who is about to write the script. To be precise, the entire film is the compilation of random thought processes of the Director, but just the thought not the writing. Here is an example, I have a whole story or one line, I am just thinking of moments to put inside the story, I won't think in sequential order, it would be random, so here the Director has actually shot the random thoughts as it pops up in the mind and made a film.
you miss one thing they say just they breakup but they did not mention why they break up..what is the reason for the break up..if like you say she is story writer ..Maybe she stole his scripts and try to make movie out of it..maybe thats why they break up, and in the note book or scripts paper there is inputs of bird tatoo,maybe she add her remarks or input in the scripts also..like you say we cannot come to one conclusion because the world was invented last Wednesday and we all stuck in between 😂

Bro, In one particular scene, when Sam scrolls through the old chats and voicemails where she chatted with "k," while the voice in the last voicemail gets cut off, it continues to the next shot of the next scene where "k" is sleeping with Sam while talking in the same voicemail, so "k" is a imagination/hallucinations

Neenga Film ah decode paanavae illa Bro'...Neenga sonna clues kooda very basic and mostly you fell into the prey...I agree with you in one point that is, you could be able to decode this film in one scene, where Sam was taking and going through the script of K...Other than that, whatever you said was not related...If you really went into that, you will be easily decoding the film...I shall pinpoint certain points where you went wrong and what my understanding is ...
* In that script, it was purely typewritten...but, two pages are handwritten(you said one page, but actually two pages)...Both handwritings are totally different...One page, where it says 'Ithu Hallucination endaa......' is similar to the handwriting of the Sticky note handwriting 'I fucked up....'; it concludes the handwriting of Sam...Same time, another handwritten note on the script dated Jul 22, 2022 the first meet of two characters, more alike the handwritten text on toilet paper; presumably written by K (ஒ enda letter looks same in both texts)...So, it is obvious that the story is the hallucination of Sam...
* The whole story is about 2 theorems... Last Thursdayism and Butterfly dream...Both theorems are related to Hallucinations...So, simply it justifies it...(For your information, as per the story, Sam and K was met on 21.Jul.2022 was a Thursday and in the Last scene was also happened in Thursday, it was Sam's Clinic day where in the voice note her psychiatrist asked to meet her...also, Thursday comes moreover in the film)...
* Tattoo has nothing to do with it; wherever the scenes which you mentioned as tattoo is not available, is actually not visible; where the Camera doesn't have the close-up shots...That doesn't mean, tattoo is not available...And I don't think it as an important key factor...
* You said, in the scene where they were sat together in the bar sequence, he told the story and narrated the 2nd scene where Sam was counselling with psychiatrist...Yepp...but, if that's reality, then Sam interrupts and take K her home and slept with him... After that scene, when she asked to tell a scene from his script, he narrates the ending scene where Sam again meet K at the same bar; further he says that scene by mentioning 'as I said when Sam and K were hugged in the hospital, suddenly Sam withdrew and ran' ...In such case, ending and Hospital scene also real, if the 1st meeting at the bar scene was real... Actually, that scenes creates doubts...I feel, it was hallucinations of Sam...bcoz, it was not showed as mentioned in the handwritten notes of K, when he spoke about his first meet with Sam...He simply says, that he met in the patchwork dance sequence in the coffee shop...so, the Bar scene was also the hallucinations, in such case...
* In psychiatrist scene, she takes Red Pill, in the other where it is showed a Blue Pill...'Blue Pill - Smith' and 'Red Pill - Morpheus' were already detailed in the film 'The Matrix'...Simply, Bule Phill is for Hallucinations and Red Phill is for Reality...That psychiatrist gives the Red Pill to Sam where it clearly indicates that Sam is hallucinating and the psychiatrist wants to recover Sam by giving Red Pill...So, the story is all about hallucination of Sam...You can understand the same thing in the last scene, where Sam was contacted by her psychiatrist over phone, and Sam says that she met K and whilst on her way to home, is going to rain; where her psychiatrist objects both statements in some way...Further, in the final shot when she was totally drenched before entering the house, no more drenched whilst closing the door afterwards...It says clearly about the hallucinations of Sam and the reality is, she was at home in the final phase...So, we can come to the conclusion that the Psychiatrist is a reality... However, anyone can say, as per the scene of that script, the typewritten notes were showed up to the scene of the Josiyar Lady...After that it is not showed; it is handwritten notes, most presumably by Sam...But, if you clearly look into that page, you can see the specular of other typewritten notes on other side of the page...
* Further, if you read the script of the first scene, it has not contain the word "Was it good" as Sam asks in the first scene after love making...Instead of that, in the script is says as "Unakku"...Like, when she says the old philosophical question of that "Yaarumae illatha oru kaattila, maram vilunthaa Saththam kedukumaa" (If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?) is not actually on the script...Like there were other certain dialogues, were actually not on the script, but uttered by Sam...In such case, it was clearly indicating that the story is mostly all about hallucination of Sam...
As per my understanding is, that K was died in an accident after some days of break-up; So, the hospital scenes and the final scenes were delusions...But, what is confusing me in this film is 'timeline'...Sam and K met on 21.Jul.2022 and the intense orgasm scene happened in Feb 2023 (Almost after 6 months)...But, in the last scene of drenching in rain, K said he was met with an accident before 6 months...If so, then all other scenes after 1st meet and lovemaking scene on the bed were delusional...In that case, psychiatrist character also fictional...
But whatever it is, I would like to tell this;

Bro'...Story is very basic; if you want understand, then forget about everything and just concentrate on the story (As K said in the film; my film is about a love story where two people fall into love at first sight, then 3 love making scenes, 3 break-up scenes and the finally patch-up scene with happy ending)...You can satisfy yourself with that..But, as TK fan nobody does...
In here, what we wonder is how he made that basic story into the film with cinematic aesthetics...In here, TK compiled the story with both segments - Real and Delusions of Sam - into one film...So, the viewers (TK fans) are trying to distinguish the above segments by decoding the cinematic compositions of the frames...That's what everyone is doing based on their understanding...TK once said in an interview; he won't expose story of this film since if he does, then it will shut the door; if he doesn't, it will open 1000 doors...
Whenever you rewatch the film, it gives you various perspectives... Enjoy those and dwell into that world and live in it..
that hospital scene is not continuty mistake I guess, because in that scene she opens 2 doors, the first door is from the corridor and then she walks for few steps and then she opens the second door so may be there are 2 doors, in some hospital after entering first door, there will be space for the attenders and visitors and the second one for the actual patients.

At their first meeting k explained script to sam as autobiography so it a story about k and his ex but not sam for sure and that k must explained all the nuances in script so after that happened all was her hallucination about the movie scenes as per script (her treatment,josiyakari,etc) and it all happened just 7 days
Sam might be one half of the alien settu girl (dubbed by Mrinalini Ravi who played the alien in SD). In the settu ponnu dialogue she is referring to the other half. This might be Sam the alien’s revenge and manipulation story, after K breaks up with her (after realising she is an alien).

I think that is Sam and only Sam. "Ninaivo oru paravai" - This says your thought process has wings and it can fly anywhere n everywhere. Thalaiva simple ah yosichadha nammathan complicate pannikurom. All illusions are created by director.
Sam wanted to be a story writer and she made the story after many rejections, she explains in such a way K explains her. She had a multiple personality disorder and Sam as individual loved a filmaker in her n named it as K and lived both the life hallucinating. She brought the psychiatrist as horoscope lady into her script. THURSDAY TO THURSDAY WAS HER APPOINTMENT. It was said in her story lines. Drenched is not drenched finally she got a conclusion as her story ends as a happy ending, there goes her life failing to take her tablets & meet doctor again.

The story she writes is about a person k who is an aspiring filmmaker and gets into a relationship with sam. [in the film k and sam break up after which she gets delusional; then k meets with an accident.]
in reality sam is a writer who gets into a relationship with k an upcoming actor and breaks up. I guess k meets with an accident and must have either died after the accident or sam refuses to meet k in the hospital to help him recover as she has moved on or Sam helps in his successful recovery while the last meeting in the bar never happens and both move on.
[Sam in the film helps in his recovery by telling him about only their best part of the past and k has a conflict with sam in a bar at the end for hiding the breakup. the delusonal sam in the film makes her own imagined happy ending while k leaves sam in the last drenched sequence.]
clues:
thursday to thursday refernce in their first meeting which is the script sam writes being inspired from her life. in reality they discuss how thursday skips to nxt week in a movies scene. in the film she theorizes it into a sci-fi effect.
There are two break up scenes in the episode, one in the start with a mutual agreement of split after the sex, while the other shows a heart broken k cursing that they would never meet after a fight. I feel the fight breakup is part of the reality while the silent on is part of the fictionized movie.

The whole movie gives a different perspective if we understand the conversation between Sam and K about the characters in the book. What will the characters do till next thursday? Also, the psychiatrist on the phone was shocked to hear about rain. Because, the psychiatrist's character doesn't know what rain is. Because that character on the script is not exposed to rain. The whole movie is not about decoding what is real and imagination. It is about the book's characters and their story beyond the script. So it is kind of a fantasy movie. TK is truly a master in his unique ideology.

There is one more clue which is to differentiate Hallucination and Reality i think.. I observed a tattoo in SAM which i took as a difference between reality and hallucination scene.. Doctor and Josiya lady is also same person which SAM hallucinated. In the script some dialogue was written by K as SAM dialogue will be spoken by K in reality.. I took it like she hallucinate from the K's script. SO in the movie, we see reality and hallucinate (which has sequences from the K script)
