- Do you ever wonder how the pros make chipping onto the green look so easy? Guys like Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth seem to have such command over their golf ball. Blake Cannon joins me for the final portion of our most recent 4-part short game series to discuss the simple technique you can use to control your radius and execute Tour-quality chip shots during your next round. We hope you enjoy!

I've been saying this for years, those that can't chip : can't play golf: me included!
The reason : I didn't pivot properly. Through Milo's lessons, I now know how to pivot and can now chip.
Thank you for explaining this in detail!
Thanks for watching!
You have helped me climb out of chip yip torture
Love to hear it! Blake is the best.
Thank you Coaches . .
You're welcome!
Great video! Can you hit pitches from the rough without hinging your wrists effectively? Maybe just move the ball back or more weight on the lead foot to steepen the attack?
Depends on the lie. instagram.com/reel/CrQzOkeLxAd/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I too, am a fan of wide bottoms
😂
It's nice to see some iron instructionals without tees
We mix, but use tees a lot with students and in our videos to minimize turf damage and it's a great exercise. Some of the greatest players ever practiced a lot off tees.
I can’t use Mickelson’s technique, but “hinge and hold” doesn’t mean you hold the wrist cock. You just can’t let the wrist bend go past the angle at address.
Mickelson doesn’t hold. He hinges and brings back to unhinged but doesn’t let the club pass the hands, and neither does any good chipper! His hold is only a feeling that encourages a body movement of the club.
He has a variety of shots including the shot he calls 'hinge and hold' which produces a lower chip shot. His 'hinge and return' returns the loft.

Dang
Guys hit the shot and stop talking so much
Will note that for future videos, thanks for the feedback.
Not everyone can look like "me"? I can't watch anymore after that!!!!
Yea pretty arrogant, especially for someone that’s relatively “unknown”. Not to mention he stands on the wrong side of the ball 😂
His action is unique for a myriad of reasons namely he’s 6’4 and very comfortable using little to no wrist action around the green like Day and Stricker. Those actions aren’t the norm. That fact is neither good nor bad and wasn’t meant to be an arrogant comment. Blake is relatively unknown to the world but to the elite players making their way onto the tour in recent years he is known. He was teammates at ASU with Jon Rahm.
Show me! Lots of talk. No action.
We did a few demonstrations
Those look like pitches...
Sure, somewhere in between. Works for both 👍
