Sir...to say your collection of Kiesel instruments are BREATHTAKINGLY AMAZING does NOT suffice and is criminal on my part!!! My faves are the HD Delos and the Explorer style...but I LOVE THEM ALL!!!
Wow thank you so much! That really means a lot to me! I have a K series on the way with a customer arctic finish that I will be posting when it's finished! Should be the best one yet!
Ha! I recognize that fade finished Crescent. It was featured on the same day as my trans white Aires, on Kiesel’s Facebook page. You got a nice collection there, man!
Thank you sol much! I remember that aries! Very nice specs. My crescent is definitely my baby. She's got a resonance that none of my other guitars possess.
Congrats man! The whole collection is awesome, but I really love the second one, the natural body against that blue is so cool! The Aries with the natural body and orange quilt top is so cool too! I don't care for covered pick ups though, i never cared for that look. I got a JB200C back in the summer and it is absolutely awesome! I got the Kiesel bug now LoL, so deciding on my next build.
Thanks so much! I appreciate it. The Becker models are great I want to get one soon. The covered pickups tend to be a little warmer and I like that but I mostly prefer uncovered too. I'm thinking of a k series to put in in march.
Thanks so much man that means a lot! 🙏 the Vader is definitely my favorite headless in my collection. I love the roasted maple neck which is now discontinued for neck thru headless kiesels. It's so resonant and full sounding for a headless. That's awesome you got one coming!!! What specs did you go with? Your gonna love it the shape and feel is like nothing I've ever played before!
Thanks I really appreciate that! Can't wait to see my solo I have in the works. Went with a lavender metallic satin with roasted neck and zebrawood fretboard.
@@JimDewdGuitars Yeah I could actually see that happening that’s a really good point though. Does the crescent feel like a big body guitar? Is it more comfortable than your Aries? I’m kind of torn between the two of which one to order next.
@@cshades8026 my crescent is Shockingly less weight than my aries. It feels great and is my number 1 by far I can't recommend it enough. It's the loudest and most resonant acoustically. It fits really good on my lap. The body is thin so it doesn't feel bulky at all. It's mostly what I play most days.
@@jojiyoshidaguitars I have a solo 7 on the way right now and my next is a K series. But if I had to choose between the 2 I'd prolly go with an RS for that vintage tone but a bass would also be amazing. The only bass model I'd want would be the Thanos. I just love the way it looks.
@@jojiyoshidaguitars what a great idea! I know what she likes and even though she doesn't play guitar it would be cool to have to hang up on the wall and it may even get her to start playing. I'm gonna go build it on the kiesel builder for her right now thanks for a great suggestion! 🙏❤
Hey Dewd I’ve been thinking about another build. Curious about tung oiled black limba neck vs tung oiled baked maple? I’d guess the 🍁 is 👑 but how does the black limba compare? Thanks Dewd.
Even though roasted maple is by far my favorite playing wood black limba is quickly becoming my favorite tone wood for neck and body. Its like a middle ground between maple and walnut. Still porous but smooth. I'm really liking it a lot.
Take the last clip with the Cresent and send it to Kiesel. You sound genuinely happy and jammed. They'll probably share on their page and give you more viewers
Jim, I have Kiesel on order with Beryllium pickups, and I'm wondering what I'm missing out on the Lithiums. I heard your first build and the Lithiums sound a bit more like EMGs. The second with Berylliums was more PAF or warmer tone. I don't play metal and usually prefer a more "classic tone" but both pick ups sound great through your gear. Can you give your thoughts on the differences between the two?
Absolutely man and thanks for asking. The lithiums are definitely hotter than berylliums. Some people don't like lithiuns as they can sometimes sound too bright. The berylliums are warmer and remind me of a Duncan jb 59 combo. They sound great in standard and lower tunings. Te berylliums also have more low end but less output. More vintage PAF style. Like a classic Rock sound. I really think your gonna love them for the style you play.
@@sepulveda67 from guitar I go into a horizon devices precision drive, then into my kemper which is powered by a Seymour Duncan powerstage 170 preamp pedal. From there it goes to my PRS Sonzera 2x12 cab with celestion V type speakers.
i have a question about kiesel guitars, for my first build, should i go for something flashy and cool and high end-(ish), or just a very plain, simple-(ish) kind of guitar? ik the first one u got was simpler, and most first builds are just simple options. but i also kinda want to 'risk' it and get something to more of my specs and cooler. i would appreciate your opinion!
The more fancy you get the more likely you are to get hooked up with upgrades. For example if you shell out 3500 on a decked out build there's a good chance jeff will pick out high quality woods. Better Tops and fretboards usually go on the more expensive builds. Every now and then you will see it on a simple one but I definitely think if you wanna go all out you should. I have 10 of them from 1500 to 4200 and they all play and sound great so you really can't go wrong no matter what.
Also, would you recommend a 1 piece swamp ash body wood? and would you say thinner neck profile is necessary for me that has only played modern-ish fender strats and has a small hand?
@@ratty3349 I definitely recommend the 1pc ash boy for lighter weight and better tone. I have 1pc on my crescent and HD and I can tell a noticeable tone difference between it and my 2pc body on my Delos and osiris. More resonance and sustain. And better grain too. As for the neck I have the standard and do just fine but I'm not a fan of the ibanez necks so I would say if you like those then get thin but if not then your fine with the standard profile.
Why are you screwinf your self buy not adding on the Keisel "Hipshot Tremelo"? They are one of the options that make them totally rock. In addition, it is the ONLY place you can get one. Great video-Best of luck. I am glad you found an axe that works for you. They do me very right.-Take care-Shawn.
Thanks so much man. I play very heavy handed so trems tend to go out of tune. Also I'm not good with a trem so I just haven't got one. I'm considering a trem on my next build on black friday. Either gotoh or hipshot. Which would you recommend for a heavy handed player such as myself?
Bob's custom plates. He does amazing work and at a very good price. He also made my the Birdseye backplate for my vanquish, the ash backplate for my osiris, and the poplar burl backplate for my Vader. He can do truss rods and acoustic pickguards too. He has a wide arrange of woods like purple heart, flame maple roasted and non roasted, poplar burl, walnut, ebony, and rosewood. He can laquer and even match the finish of your guitar. He has a website you can also reach out to him through his Facebook page at bobs custom plates.
Absolutely none. Every time I order they arrive better Than expected and once I had a 5 way switch go out and they overnighted me one free of charge. They have thrown in options at no charge or let me get in on sale after it was over. They really treat their customers like family. I found most of the hate they get is from people being rude and having unrealistic expectations from them and then getting mad when they don't like the options they give them. If your polite and respectful they are the best to work with.
Some pretty sick guitars. I’d say, however that only really buying guitars from this one company is kind of limiting. Spread it out. You may discover more that you like.
I've tried other brands and none have felt as good as kiesel so I'm gonna stick with them. Don't wanna spend thousands on something I'm not sure I'm gonna like when I know I'll like a kiesel.
Pretty much 🤣 I think it came to 24k when I added it up not including my kemper and other gear. I recently put in order for 7 string solo so it's now 26k 😅😅😅
