Installed this model in one side (MY side) of a large 5' x 6' his and hers shower that I built as a pandemic project, having ripped out a huge tub that we never used. Love it. I regularly inspect the hole that the hoses pass thru via an access panel. No water or mold. Only problem I have had is too much flow! Without the flow restrictor, the body sprays shoot all the way to the other wall! I found that the proper wall height mounting for me is about eye level with the temperature display. Anyway, so far, so good. At least a couple of years now.

I built a tiled shower with acrylic base and added a Wayfair system, similar but not the waterfall style, and gained the confidence needed. When I had one of those installed, they just installed 2 threaded fittings out of the wall at the top of the panel. Don't have to worrie about water getting in the wall through a hole that way. Then just extend the hoses down the wall behind the panel.

Great video as always Jeff, I would like to add that these shower panel systems are designed for a international market and they follow International Plumbing code guidelines. That being said, the included installation directions are typically not the best resource for installing these systems, for a typical North American install I believe this video is a fantastic resource that should be included from the manufacturers selling shower units in North America.

Mr. Thorman used a laser to check that the holes for the mounting brackets were vertically aligned. It's also a good idea, after securing the shower tower to the wall, to check that the unit is centered as desired and isn't tilted, because typically each bracket allows considerable lateral play, almost equal to the width of the shower tower.

It turned out very nice Jeff. Do you have any videos where you use epoxy grout? My niece has four boys and their aim is of course horrible and she asked for something more durable and fluid resistant than regular grout and epoxy grout is the only thing I can think of but I’ve never used it. Any suggestions or do you have a video on it? I ask because I trust your videos and you always explain things very well.
    Thanks.
    Ron

Hi Ron, we did a video where we removed old grout and installed epoxy on the floor. use the search tool on the home screen and type epoxy. Cheers. Let me know what you think when you get there.!

If I’m installing a shower tower do I need to keep the shower valve from my old shower in? Or can I just add shut off valves and pex?

The only plumbing I've ever done was replace a busted outdoor faucet that that cracked because it wasn't drained for the winter. That simple task had me at home depot about 5 times lol, but I did it.

Cheers , that can be more difficult than meets the eye. this however is very straight forward. Cheers!

So when adding something like this, is it necessary to add a pressure regulator to supply all the outlets with enough pressure?

Looking to put new install on other side of bathroom wall, then later knock out some of it. If I put some kind of shower/enclosure directly on my old lathed plaster, could I then drill Plex sized holes in wall to put PLEX directly down to basement a few feet away, and do the hookup there? I would connect the PLEX that goes down through the wall with 1/2 inch fittings INSIDE the Tower Unit, so NO leak could happen in wall, and would not need to bust up the plaster much... (OLD HOUSE)

Hello. Late here. I was looking to install a Shower Panel
System. I currently have the Delta rough in valve R10000-UNBXHF. Is it as easy as removing the rough in valve and hooking up the hoses? Thanks.

What other shower tower or brand of shower towers do you recommend? Preferably one from Lowes or Home Depot, as I'm too worried about shipping damage and like the fact if there is any issue I can just drive 2 miles and return to store directly. This unit (actually the whole brand, Ello&Allo) isn't sold on Wayfair anymore ...can only find on Ebay from random sellers.

Don’t need to tape the threads for hot/cold to the metal fittings on the shower?

Put some silicone in the screw holes just before you install the brackets, helps waterproof the holes, just in case. Its what I do with shower door screws.

Yeah, waterproof those screw holes filled with screws but lets not worry about the 6 x 6 inch hole. lol

I am about to replace a older shower tower.. the wall/sheet rock/tile is already in place, and I have a larger hole to cover and will not be able to screw into a stud. Will it be ok to install to the tile/sheet rock? Thanks

Any problems with water hammer? Since the pex is loose in the wall.

Can you add a tower to a tub surround that is installed directly to studs? I have access to frame behind where the shower will be installed.

Hi can you give us advice. Ours one doesn't heat up that good. We set our tank water heater to 125 Farenheit but the water still lukewarm temperature. We bought twice of this thinking a umit problem. But both doesn't provide hot water.

If you put in a tower, then later want a more standard shower, should you somehow prepare for that option in advance? Would you need to come in from the back through the adjacent wall?

Came here for the same reason. I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and plumb everything just in case I want to get rid of the tower.

Do you think there would be any issue splitting my single 1/2" feeder lines (H/C) into 2 of these towers? I know there are a lot of factors to calculate flow and loss but "in general" if there was sufficient supply to a single tower is it within reason to expect decent performance with 2? Thanks in advance!

    • @packetattack7437
      @packetattack7437 2 ปีที่แล้ว

You won't get the flow from both running at the same time with a 1/2" feed.
