if you cycle the keys, that's contraproductive on these engines as the PCM only glows the plugs once for 11 seconds. So turn on ignition and wait 11 seconds, you'll hear the relais click and then start the engine. Will start at almost any temperature like a charm. If you cycle the keys, the plugs are cold again
Actually before I started to cycle the plugs, I've tried the standard way and it didn't work, the car couldn't start, this is why I've started using the cycle method, otherwise I couldn't get my car started. Now I have VW Passat, and I've never had to do this no matter how cold it was. I think in general diesel fords have a hard time starting in the winter.

@@YoanArnaudov Fords are rather easy to start in the cold. There must have been something else wrong
@@no-damn-alias this is my second diesel ford - the first one was exactly the same. I’m sure petrol ford doesn’t have that issue.

I have changed the glow plugs 1 year ago at OEM Ford dealership.
