    I love the Bilt card and am often surprised how few CC TH-camrs mention using it as their main dining card even when running a UR/Hyatt points-oriented system! Easy way to hit 5 transactions per month to lock in the points on rent, and sometimes I get surprise bonus points when I unintentionally eat out at Bilt dining partners

    • @mikeortiz410
      @mikeortiz410 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love the Bilt on the first for the 6X dining points, but I mainly carry around the Chase Freedom Unlimited as my catch all card, which also gets 3X on dining. So unless I’m dining on the 1st, the Bilt isn’t in my wallet.

    • @chrischeng158

      @@mikeortiz410 BILT has another strong transfer partner that Chase doesn't have, which is Alaska airlines so I have been using BILT as the main dining card. It allows me to transfer to Alaska or Hyatt.

    • @colinshi8247
      @colinshi8247 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly! When so many cards earn 3x on dining, I'm going to earn it on the card with the most valuable points. Bilt has all of Chase's best transfer partners (Hyatt, Aeroplan, United) plus Alaska. The 3x is simply a baseline, you can earn more when stacked with neighborhood dining or 6x on rent day. Personally, I think Bilt works better for dining than even 4x on the Amex Gold.

    You should partner with BILT for the home buying process. May be slightly biased but would be beneficial to walk new home buyers through the benefits of BILT in that process and the rewards that would come from using them.

    If I rented, this card would 100% be in my wallet. Whenever I'm not working towards a SUB, I'd hate to have all that spend not earning anything. Ontop of that, having OP transfer partners this card is a 10/10 only fault is no SUB. But obv it makes up for it. Great review Daniel!

    The card is good but it honestly used to be better. Getting rid of American Airlines as a transfer partner was a huge disappointment. Another suggestion for using the card 5 times is putting 5 dollars onto your Amazon account gift card every week. So pay your rent and then pay 20 dollars over the month to meet the 5 transaction criteria.

      @MumbaG19 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      That really doesn’t make sense from a business stand point as a business if you have an existing BILT you can pay rent with adding mortgage to it makes it a game changer but creating a second card just for mortgage defeats everything. One card for rent and other features and another just for mortgage lol

    • @RITPA

      LOL, you must be new to credit card game. Every single bank, program, or brand has multiple cards. Two banks and 7 card for Marriott. Until recently AA had two banks and 9 cards. Delta has 7 version of cards. You get the picture. It is the nature of the credit card game to split cards up for different tiers or benifits. Bilt may release a mortgage card with an annual fee. Do not assume that Bilt for Morgage will just be pasted onto the current Bilt card.

      Bilt gives you a bank routing and account number to use just for paying rent, so the payment gets processed like a regular savings/checking account payment would. They also have a network of properties in their system that they waive the CC transaction fee on, but if your rent isn’t through that network you can use the routing numbers or have them mail a check.

    • @Daniel_Braun
      @Daniel_Braun  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      No it does not for me - I pay through my property management company's portal. Bilt essentially gives you a routing number and account number that allows you to set up payments like how I would set up a bank account for payments. So no transaction fee shows up for me in the process.
      Hope that helps!

      As he said ^ the Bilt card basically acts like a checking account for rent so no credit card fees. Yeah poor timing haha but nothing I could do because I uploaded 2 days before that survey went out!
      One thing to note though is that the survey did say that none of that was final in any way and it was really just to see what their cardholders preferred - that way they can develop any future updates based on that feedback.
      Honestly I view that as a positive thing because other issuers just announce changes without any notice or input from cardholders 😂

      My take on the new cards - the $95 card is a carbon copy of the existing card. The zero dollar annual fee card is their version of the Chase freedom unlimited. The $550 annual fee card is their version of the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
      My initial major critique is the $550 annual fee card only includes 2x on dining. If that sticks, that’s crazy to me.

    Saying it’s “better than ever” is a big a** stretch. Don’t get me wrong, I still use it as a renter but it is faaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr from as good as it used to be. I used to put about 100K a year on it, now I use it for rent and a handful of Amazon charges a month and that is it.

    • @Daniel_Braun
      @Daniel_Braun  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I mean personally I think that earning points on buying a home and earning points on mortgages will be a huge benefit - and Bilt keeps adding more and more features every year.
      Some features like Rent Day have been slightly devalued, but overall the value of this card has only gotten better over time with these new features. The Bilt Mastercard in 2025 is better than it was in 2023 - and I wish that other cards would become as active as Bilt has been

    • @jaimerogers1587
      @jaimerogers1587 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Possibly, it’s not part of the program as of yet. The lead said “why it IS better than ever in 2025”. We shall see…. Personally, I was spoiled by the former incredible earning potential and insane (nearly monthly) 150% transfer bonuses. There’s no way that as it currently stands it IS better right now than in 2023 and the first of 2024, you cannot truthfully say differently, come on.

    • @Daniel_Braun
      @Daniel_Braun  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ Yeah we will see, but I do think it's better now than ever before. American Airlines going away as a transfer partner is another negative - but gaining Alaska made up for that.
      Since 2023, Bilt has gained more transfer partners, added Lyft earning benefits, Bilt Neighborhood Dining, ability to earn points when buying a house, and coming soon the ability to earn points on mortgage (confirmed by multiple people from Bilt lately).
      Sure, some of the transfer bonuses in the past have been great - but amazing transfer bonuses still happen (like the Avianca one on Feb 1 this month).
      Again, not saying that this card is perfect and we still have to see what points or mortgages looks like - but just figured I'd explain my thought process around saying why I personally think it's better than ever in 2025 because objectively I think that's true and most people would agree. But understand if you disagree 👍
