Thank you for recognizing his courage. What he did was extremely courageous. I feel that, because I left my career as a minister and Bible scholar when I realized my religion was false, at age 40. I lost everything my life had been about, and I had to start over. It was the most frightening thing I have ever done, but it was the only thing I could do to keep my integrity. When everyone in my life saw me as an apostate, I knew it took deep courage to face the rejection of my friends and family and rebuild my life from scratch in mid-life. The circumstances are different, but the courage is the same, and Dr Goobie has my deepest respect.

Kudos to Goobie for knowing himself. We've all been at a point where we want to change careers, jobs, etc. Goobie just made a decision to do what you love regardless of money. It's not always about money.

My daughter and son-in-law is Emergency doctor, I was shocked by this doctor quit, for my perspective is any young people want to include his career need to figure out if you like his job or not,Are you brave enough to be a doctor, otherwise you will have lot of trouble because there is no back path😅

The most important point is not emphasized on , which is fixing the root of the cause and not just the symptoms.
If you continue to fix the wall and not the roof where the real problem is, well you will be fixing those wall for the rest of your life until it kill you.

Dr goobie was talking about morality and Ethics that Desi can not resonate with where they worried about their debts or bills, while playing with Human life, to become Dr. India Pakistan or other third world countries its way out from poverty what he did to come out tell the truth not many can achieve highest level.. Good luck with your career.

He was 20 years vested. You're still in your residency. Who knows what you feel when you're in your actual careers.

Health care in the USA is not to help people get well, it’s a business, a huge business and businesses are there to make money, as much as possible. Medicine is taught ignoring this fact, as I see it, there is a disconnect between the teaching and the practice. That’s the reason why you can get very frustrated as doctor practicing medicine in the USA.

Why people have started thinking like that and quitting? I am from a family where there are many doctors and instead of serving they get so much burdened that they totally forget and get into the same race of competing. The capitalism and consumerism has made humans forget that they have to live a life and help and make connections rather than becoming just a part of a machine.Hope you people will not forget the spirit of human to human connection.

To understand Gooby, you need to think out of health care system. Leaving his career is a small portion of big picture. His view is very broad in comparison to yours . You cannot constrain him with one aspect !!
