Very helpful video, thanks 😊

FIRST COMMENT !
My brother ❤️
Great brother❤
Thank you so much for the video, materials, and experience you've shared! The most informative resource so far. Using common sense is a good advice, although some preparation materials and guidance are always helpful! 👍
Glad it was helpful!
The problem is by the time Dr. Goobie sees the patient, it's already too late. They would have to try to get the patient to make changes earlier on but things get that bad.
Yeah I completely agree, things are too far gone to expect any meaningful change at that point
if your passionate about healthcare and money is also a factor but not primary, would it still be a good idea in your opinion? Also from the US considering med school abroad, is it worth it to not have to take more than 1 gap year or would it be best to stay and try to get into a US one? And arent some of the specialties you mentioned 4 yr residency like anesthesia or 5?
I think so. Don’t get me wrong doctors love money too. But it’s just the other things that are associated with money aren’t there (suits, watches, bonuses, corporate dinners, paid for meals, paid for travel, stock compensation, equity etc etc etc.) if you looked at where we work its down bad. You’re likely also not going to meet a business connection or network that could change your life monetarily. The question of going abroad depends on what specialty you want to match back into. Specialties outside IM+primary care very difficult to match into if you go abroad so choose wisely. But yes lol according to my dad he said go get that degree asap so you can start earning asap. Take that as you will
@ thanks really appreciate the insight!
Bro what medicine is at least 8 years after hs unless u graduate early
Perfectly timed video for this cycle. Really is the cycle of truth 😅🥴 #oldengineer
Was Newfoundland your first choice ?
And also abdul I’ve navigated the carms website quite thoroughly and img’s and canadians have a separate quota of seats wether it be urban or rural ,and for the most part aside from manitoba there are more urban img seats available than there are rural img seats
There may be more urban seats, but most urban spots are actually filled by Canadian medical graduates (CMGs) and IMGs take up more of the rural spots because they may be less desirable. This is just from what I’ve noticed. Like 99% of my classmates who matched, matched to a rural stream rather than urban
@@abdulrsyed oh i see and abdul i really dont want to sound like a smart ass cuz the truth is i really appreciate the content that you make and there is a lot of value in it, but the following im gonna paste is right from the carms website For the R-1 Match, most Canadian medical schools have positions designated for IMG applicants in the first iteration; however, there is no guarantee that all available positions will be filled. In Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia, there is a rigorous screening process for IMGs. In Quebec, both IMGs and Canadian medical graduates (CMGs) compete for the same training positions. In the second iteration, most vacancies become competitive. That is, both IMGs and CMGs compete for the same available positions, except for Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta. Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta programs will keep both IMG and CMG streams separate in second iteration, as it is in first iteration. Once again, there are no guarantees that all available positions will be filled.
@ hey abdul i hate to sound like a smart ass because the truth is i really appreciate your content and i believe there is a lot to gain from it. But the following im gonna paste is right from the carms website . But to summarize only quebec has cmg and img mixed seats and in some provinces it becomes mixed only in the 2nd iteration For the R-1 Match, most Canadian medical schools have positions designated for IMG applicants in the first iteration; however, there is no guarantee that all available positions will be filled. In Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia, there is a rigorous screening process for IMGs. In Quebec, both IMGs and Canadian medical graduates (CMGs) compete for the same training positions. Hey abdul from my understanding you need to be an albertan resident to apply for img positions in alberta. I am also a canadian img but I am originally from British columbia so that makes me ineligible correct?
Oh I didn’t know this, I just checked their site. You must have lived in Alberta for 24 months it looks like. But you can still be a part of AIMG and use their webinars/resources even if you’re out of province
What are the exams that we need to take for medicine residency in Canada? MCCQE?
MCCQE + NAC OSCE + FMproc (if applying to FM residency)
@@abdulrsyedHow about neurology residency . Is it img friendly specifically¿
alhamdullah bro hope it goes well inshallah, been praying for you brother! applying this year make dua for a brother haha
Thanks brother 🙏🏽 inshAllah you will be successful with your applications as well !
My daughter and son-in-law is Emergency doctor, I was shocked by this doctor quit, for my perspective is any young people want to include his career need to figure out if you like his job or not,Are you brave enough to be a doctor, otherwise you will have lot of trouble because there is no back path😅
Definitely requires an unlimited amount of courage. And there’s no substitute for it!
I left medicine before watching this.
Bless you escaped
Left and never been so happy so fulfilled. It actually matters who your support system is.
@ I’m glad you made the right choice for yourself, it would’ve been bad otherwise
Well, I got into medicine before watching this
😂😂
same lmao 😂
Lmaoo, don’t worry I’m making another vid as to why medicine is worth it
Do soon brother @@abdulrsyed
interesting point of view
Glad you think so!
Love your authenticity!
Thank you!!
@ 🙌
Why people have started thinking like that and quitting? I am from a family where there are many doctors and instead of serving they get so much burdened that they totally forget and get into the same race of competing. The capitalism and consumerism has made humans forget that they have to live a life and help and make connections rather than becoming just a part of a machine.Hope you people will not forget the spirit of human to human connection.
I love your lisp
Hhahahahaha I’m fkn dead man, thank you!

Maggie just quit too! She's an M4 medical student.
Is she on YT or TikTok? But yeah that is pretty wild too
To understand Gooby, you need to think out of health care system. Leaving his career is a small portion of big picture. His view is very broad in comparison to yours . You cannot constrain him with one aspect !!
That’s true he’s in a different phase of his life!

What is the resource which has tables based on symptoms - diseases..😊?
It’s called family medicine notes!! It gives great advice. Basically everything you need to know as a doctor
You really got it right, i started anki half way through my second year. So many students end up the same way, eventually turning to it since it is such a foolproof resource
Yeah man probably my biggest mistakes. It always seemed too daunting but even a little bit or even if you do it for a single topic you can do soo much better. And you’re able to answer questions verbally
great content!
Thank you!!
lmao this was funny asl hahahah
The most important point is not emphasized on , which is fixing the root of the cause and not just the symptoms. If you continue to fix the wall and not the roof where the real problem is, well you will be fixing those wall for the rest of your life until it kill you.
Congratulations. What do you attribute your successful match to? I ask beacuse I am a Canadian that is about to start the IMG route in Australia.
