      I totally agree with Ordway that Mayo has made a mistake by being too open with the press, and yes, they use his own words against him' and agree that a prime recent example is him saying the team was soft - what happens? Those very words get thrown back in his face by multiple members of the media who are demanding to know why the team is soft... if he never said that, there wouldn't be a problem! Heck, Bill Belichick never opened up about anything and he never took accountability for anything in over 20 years either - whenever he was asked about something stupid that he did that predictably went badly, Belichick would flatly deny it and start slinging insults as a cover... I didn't like that dishonorable approach, but Mayo is clearly creating some of his own adversity with the press by essentially, having too much transparency.

    The question isn't so much whether Belichick should've been kept around, but whether choosing someone with zero head coaching experience as his successor was remotely sensible. They didn't even conduct a search. All with Mike Vrabel available.

      @jbbrolic วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Vrabel had a terrible reputation with the Titans - old school may sound good, but it doesn't play well today. Pats need a mix of BOTH old school WITH new school, someone like Coach Campbell in Detroit.

      You're right, people around the NFL have pointed out that the Pats have one of the weakest rosters in the league. They were already in the basement last year, and you were expecting too much if you expected to see a completely different team this year. I was still hoping to see them make more progress than they have, but they've also had some bad luck with injuries on both sides of the ball...

    The best outcome available for the Pats this year is to see Maye play well & injury free, forget the W/L columns.
    If Maye plays well, the team can become a magnet rather than the repulsor it now is for potential free agents or trade talent. Next year, the Pats have cap space and loads of draft capital.
    Don't ruin next year this year by panicking and making more terrible choices.

    Ok so if you can draft Tom Brady but you don’t have a LT, do you pass? If you can draft CJ Stroud, but you don’t have a receiver, do you pass? If you could draft a Patrick Mahomes but the team is not ready- do you pass…..we don’t know what Drake will be, but it was our highest draft pick and he was a great prospect. Trading down only works if you think like Bill Belichick, that the QB position is a commodity item and you can get one in any draft - and that’s just wrong.

I hope maye doesnt end up like heineke, dalton, wentz, baker, where they can be great organization changers and even be elite but get bounced around and stunted potential due to instability and constantly being pinballed around the league. This organization needs to get it together and at the very least ONLY focus on that OL until they know maye will be protected because the other problem will be maye getting hurt to the point of being a tua or garoppolo averaging more I.R. time a season then actual play time.

But I lost all respect for him during his introduction speech never discussing what he will bring to the team, the teams Direction in the future. Instead we got how horrible it is to be a black man in the NFL and how much he loves Dei. And he should love it because it worked for him. And that is what

    Mayo simply doesn't have the experience to be a head coach and he obviously is not real bright

    You guys are crazy if you're going around saying the Patriots should not have picked Drake May there's only one way to win in the national football League and is that is to have a good quarterback I'm sorry if you have a bad quarterback in the fourth quarter you are not winning that game simple the game has changed it's different now I'm sorry defense used to when you championships but it doesn't anymore offense does and we seen it look at Kansas City but you still need at least the top 10 defense I get that but you have to build a team around a quarterback I am glad they got Drake may they will not ruin him if they get the head coach right because the problem with the Patriots right now is the head coach and the front office and I honestly believe this if Robert Kraft if you cannot get this right very soon you should sell the team
