mann you just went in very smooth with the ad...I just hope they will give you more sponsors...you deserve it. . btw really helpful video, when I work I always listen to music or podcast without that I can never concentrate.
I find inspiration by playing games, listening to music, watching movies, and also reading some books. Doing those things makes me want to make my own universe. I like this video, and your painting too!
I think you are worth more than what you deserve... your work is so simple enough to lure anyone into digital artwork and yet its so splendid to admire...best work...we are looking for more...by the way thanks for sharing the brushes with us... really loved it.
Like many have said before many times when I've hit a wall I just start drawing doodling or working on an old project. The hardest part is certainly just even starting and that gets that step out of the way. Thank for the great tips and advice!
I think that inspiration and drawing in general comes in a waves (for me). Sometimes i research, i want to draw something, i spent 6 hours on it and it is trash. Then i get hit by some neat idea, sit on it and Iam in my element, and i finish a piece that is really good in less than few hours. And lastly, those moments when you have tons of ideas but you are too bored to sit and make them real. I think that those bumps where you are at the bottom are those, that lit the "I want to get better" fire the most. Heck, i spend last 3 days painting something that ended up utter trash, but iam looking forward to redeem it with next piece.
My inspiration are the people around me, their story's, their thoughts and their dreams. And also the nature, the moon and the sea. Great mother earth. I love your channel. Thank you for your videos, thank you for your support.
I use a lot of the same resources for inspiration when I am looking for something new to work on. I also find it helpful to just search topics in Google Images, Pinterest, on art websites, gather a bunch of stuff together and referencing bits of this and that, then start creating my own original art from that inspiration. I ALWAYS have music of some sort playing in the background. I have a lot of Spotify playlists that I use for this. I really love your Viddys! Make more please !!!
" sometimes I create characters based on the emotional power of the song" Man!!!!! Omg your lucky to be able to express that xD its so relatable and accurate. Sometimes the song itself can drive my artwork from badass settings to more warm and sad weather. I personally would love to watch you create characters based on songs !!!
Great video brother, it was really helpful. For me though I always get inspired by watching movies or scene of movies in TH-cam. I draw my main motivation from guys like you, creative professionals on the internet and social media.
Try taking inspiration from multiple films at once. Take inspiration for a character from one film, and then place it in the setting of another film. Keep experimenting :)
Take those films you watch and try to mix them in an alternative universe, i recommend you to watch Blade Runner(The old and new one), there is this awesome artist called Moebius, also watch Sergio Leone films, they all have amazing landscapes and wonderful fiction environments :)
As an alternate route to mixing you can also try to focus on the vibe of what you like. A lot of people like star wars, for example, and I think doing star wars art very easily approaches fanart. If you focus on the vibe of star wars, I personally start to think of all the planets, and the colour schemes on those planets, and the fauna or the architecture or whatever stands out from the places in the series. Very easily I start to picture what else might be in those places and that might lend itself more easily to novel content. You could take the very iconic architecture of tatooine as a cornerstone and switch up the environment, like what would a tatooine megacity look like? Or integrate it into a cliff. For me it helps to boil it back down to that essence/vibe that made me like it in the first place, but of course what works creatively is a very personal thing.
Beautiful colors! Well, you are right, sometimes you don't know what to draw, but then, one little sparkle goes to your head and you see everything clear! I working with cosplayers, so I see my inspiration in eyes and Their emotions and, of course, in fandom)) Gosh, if I can draw everything what in my head, it's more like gif-art, full of colors and motions)))
Very informative....personally i find reading to be very helpful for opening up that imagination, and ofcourse... movies and games...and just observing the sorroundings can be helpful too.

very good the way you were changing the painting according to your explanations of how to get inspiration! generally my favorite method is to make a big blur on the canvas and then put a random song to help transform the initial image kk
Part of the Awan army here, could you perhaps consider doing an in-depth photobashing and concept art playlist? where you really go in to the depths of each tool and technique you employ to create concepts for both landscapes and characters?
