Honestly, not a single stat does justice to him like advanced statistics. Jokic leads the league in Player Efficiency Rating, Win Shares, Offensive Win Shares, Win Shares Per 48 Minutes, Box Plus/Minus, Offensive Box Plus/Minus, Defensive Box Plus/Minus, and Value Over Replacement. If that's not the definition of most valuable player, I don't know what is.

Some guy was telling me Jokic isn’t as good as Luka bc he can’t make “5 tough 3s in a row”, when that isn’t what makes Jokic great. What makes him unstoppable is that he always makes the right read to create the easiest shot, and that he elevates his teammates by doing so.
Personally I think generating good looks in every single possession is a lot more valuable than being able to hit bad shots
Which is ironic because you can make a 10 minute highlight reel of him making terrible shots just just last year playoffs let alone his whole career

Massive carry at 1:45 but the way the league is making calls makes defense impossible. I do agree that Jokic is playing at a level above everyone the scary part is he is making it look so easy.
Last year he was the best basketball player and made little to no mistake. This year, he forces opponents to make mistakes. This is ridiculous honestly, the guy plays 2k and exploits the AI live.

Some of these passes are insane, others turn into such easy baskets it looks like he's playing amateurs. Getting many easy baskets is what wins championships, not working insanely hard to get insanely difficult ones
He was killing in any era 70 ,80, 90, 2000 , like Sabonis’s dad in his prime without the injury as far as passing, you put them with the Blazers in the 90s with Clyde Drexler, Terry porter and the rest of them. The Blazers win 6 championships for sure.
when teams scheme against jokic in the playoffs and throw everything they got at him his assists usually go down a little and his scoring goes up. on the off chance a team doubles him or isnt on their p's and q's for a couple games in a series his assists go back and up and his scoring goes back down. proving theres just nothing you can do to win against him. the nuggets will never be an overwhelmingly dominate D with him manning the center position so you wont see the nuggets sweep teams often(besides the lakers) but beating them 4 out of 7 is really difficult. the league and west is so damn good this year that i wouldnt be surprised if the nuggets get knocked off, repeating is very difficult, but calvin booth said himself he's more worried about next year than this one which is why he didnt make a win now move to upgrade the bench at the deadline. (denvers bench is terrible, no bruce brown to save the day this time) if denver does it again with the league this stacked this year and a nothing burger for a bench mob than they will go down as one of the best teams ever.
Watson, Braun, and Holliday all show promise off the bench. I wouldn't call the bench terrible, just average.
@@garyco766 i agree during the regular season but those guys are unproven in the playoffs when the pressure rachets up. braun had a few good games last year on the defensive end but his offense wasnt really needed. this year we will need him to at least have a few good games offensively if we're gonna run the gauntlet.
@@Jsch23 Well the whole bench put in work in that Hawks game last night, and showed up pretty well - 58 pts from the bench. Perfect timing to get them some good reps before the playoffs start and also give the coaches an idea of who's ready to step up.

This is why Zach Edey could actually be pretty good at the NBA lvl especially if he learns how to shoot and improves his court vision even more. Jokic is actually below average in athleticism and mobility but has enough craftiness, size, strength and basketball IQ to make that not matter

It tells way about those who tell it than they tell it is. Jokic already been stole once now they try to do it again, now the only legitimate question is why or what are they scared about. NBA has promoted scoring and flashing highlight while still having decreasing number of viewers. and now they have a competitive goat that don't do anything they promote.
