Look after one day the column will definitely not have enough strength to take the design load. But it will definitely have the strength to take the upper portion of concrete which is casted. The casting height of upper portion should be less than 1m then it's ok. Other wise it is better to wait for 3days.

Yes 56 days strength to be checked only if strength not achieved at 28days.. yes to be cured till 56 days.

Sir if some portion of column concreting one day then after how many days should concreting done remaining portion.
You can do it next day no issues. Make sure that old surface is properly roughened to expose aggregate and use proper bonding agent like cement slurry
