1982 VW Rabbit MK1 Rust Repair- New Rockers and Floors!

  • The Rabbit gets some rust repair done! This thing was crusty and we were able to replace the rockers, floors and some other areas. Unfortunately we were focused on getting it done and not recording. The video jumps around a bit but has some useful info at the end.

    Nice job saving this one. Mine doesn't have any rust like that, as it's a Colorado and Florida car. In CO they didn't use salt on the roads, so it's solid. It has other body problems though. It's an '81, same color combo as this one. Looking forward to the restoration!

    Looking good guys. I am working on floor pans on my mk1 cabriolet. I just have a bunch of holes to patch up. It is cool to see what others are doing.

      You can get them from heritage and I believe M and T manufacturing.

    Great work !!! Curious as too what you did with the old seat rails did you weld them back in for the rear sliders

      Yes, we welded them back in place. One of the rails were pretty bad so it was repaired. I'll explain it in the next video. Thanks for watching!
