A lot of "high end" items have been worthless in previous patches, either from bad balancing or oversaturation from quest rewards or whatever. "high end" items are now just roll based instead of rarity based, which honestly doesn't change much

The new treasure and loot changes would’ve been so so amazing if it weren’t for the gear changes. It’s actually so disappointing
Worst patch in a while, which is funny because the patch before imo was the best patch they've ever released. The game was so fun prior to this update. Just unsure why they dropped this patch when they said its a step towards the goal and that they will add on top of it. They should have just waited and made this change with whatever they are coming up with next, whether that be socketing or something else. Instead they just dropped a patch that makes looting not fun in the slightest with no alternative.
The loot buff was great for mě atleast but this patch ? The health pools was bullshit

This game just was whacky after wipe. Early wipe i farmed so much troll pelt I got around 35, then somehow died so many times even gearing up really hard most of the time I lost all the profit I made from it lmao it's either asia server is bad or I suck balls even though I played 1400 hours of this god damn game.
These changes, kind of as onepeg said in the last video, have been a huge boon for getting my friends who never played to play the game. The lack of required gear to destroy people makes dying mostly inconsequential.
However, for me (with 1200 hours) it feels like im a disney tour guide whos been on space mountain a million times and this last patch they decided to turn on the lights in the ride lmao...

But I just wished I could be around the places where some of these decisions are made and listen in.
Read a design document, be at meetings, etc.
Cause the yoyo-ing on philosophy and direction gives me mental whiplash.
Yet it's fascinating how they just bounce back and forth from stable to extreme game states and decisions, never seeming to retain the lessons the last outlier taught.

I'm not so bent out of shape with the new patch. It's not great but I don't understand why everyone is upset. I'm sure things will get reverted. In the mean time buy legendary while they are cheap and watch them triple in price when things go back
There is one change you didn't mention, the Silver weapons now have increased Undead damage with higher tiers. Divine blade (blue one) gives 25% Bonus damage against undeads.

Everything in this patch is just weird. Basically, every player now has lower HP/armor rating in general. However, the “buff” on base level gear, for example, 4/5 strenght per item, makes your damage way higher at the beginning of round.
This way, you will DEAL more damage and TANK less damage.
All I want is the previous patch ttk, I had so much fun in

@@dayronm5304 brother. Fighters got a crazy nerf now that any armor is just objectively bad now. Effective HP is about a 40-60% drop from last patch. Second wind is weaker now (scales with HP). Overall time to kill with no protection means they are easy picking for mages, bows etc. I'm not even playing fighters this season..but now they are so easy sauce to kill. And I didn't struggle with them all season prior. All the tools the fighter had is gone. It's a ranged meta season now. The worst it's been. No body is having fun

Im playing alot of Warlock this season and ive noticed that when I hit with BOC the icon stays on them for much much more longer, like a whole arena round .
Biggest disappointment is the fact I realllllyyyyy liked the balance of the game pre wipe, with the loot boost it made it easier to go into HR. That is what hurts it’s like everything I started to just really learn about is done. Like that I can’t keep re learning everything I only have a little bit of time to game now I feel like I gotta watch 7 TH-cam videos to know what changed so I can atleast prepare for the 5 barbs spawn rushing me lol
the hotfix before this one was the 2nd worst one behind this one to ever hit the game. the loot boost was terrible. you were getting 4 or 5 legendaries per normal match. that equally makes gear as useless as this hotfix does. A healthy balance is what we need.

I didn’t see any mention about necklaces, but I noticed my Ox Pendant with +10 armor rating got stealth downgraded to +6 armor rating. I wish they could be more transparent with these changes

At this point, Id rather play EFT/Tarkov again because looting on here is not even worth and Barbarians are mega meta now an just so overwhelming.

It feels so strange that they have so many of these hidden changes. I understand them not revealing some stuff in the patch like when they released the Forgotten Castle bosses secretly as it was kinda fun to learn about it through the grapevine but having so many changes like in this video or in the patch a few ago where they changed the duration of the bard songs feels so strange. I don't understand why they hide these changes and show some. I really have no faith in this dev team anymore
There's also a hidden change that the gs requirement for HR is dropped. You can q up for HR in squire gear and nothing else
64.7% is not the cap, since your using defense mastery a fighter perk in calculation that means you should also account for barricade's +50 pdr and mdr when blocking. as well as taunt's +10% pdr flat. which in turn would allow you to hit the 75% pdr cap.

Im back again after making comments defending the patch on previous videos... playing for the day yesterday you're correct game is cooked if they don't fix it fast.

This is only partially true. The other half (and really I'd argue 80%) of the reason nobody stacked MDR was because of the way the magic resistance curved into magic damage resistance. You needed a *full set* of magic damage resistance (or will) gear to get to meaningful magic resistance numbers. Outside of the barbuta helmet and the occultist tunic, substantial magic resistance gear brought nothing to the table in terms of primary attributes - so you would end up being slower/less vigorous/less DPSy if you chose to actually build significant quantities of MDR.
There is a specific carve-out for templar armour (popular on clerics, and the very rare platelock) and the visored barbuta helm (only platelock). But beyond that, going magic resistance made you able to tank a bit more magic damage at the expense of speed, damage output and survivability against everything else (ironically, including magic itself, since you're giving up vigour, and well-equipped spellcasters WILL have true magic damage).
This loot/gear change absolutely murdered the game imo. That, among other, smaller annoyances, has turned me and my 1.6k hours away. I didn't get into this game because it was a participation trophy game. I got into it because it was challenging and fun working towards better gear/AP rank. Now it's just AP rank, and it's much easier. I can't get behind this. I don't understand why they insist on fixing things that weren't broken, vs things that were/are. They claim it's about making the casual player's experience better, but they already get to enjoy the game in normals. You can pvp, loot, build gear just like everyone else. Why make HR assimilate to casual players? Is that all that's left maybe? Maybe they ran everyone off and need to bring the base up. Idk. Seems to be having an opposite effect.

@Onepeg Idea to validate the item changes. Say they keep the fixed white stats on items (after adjusting them of course) but adjust the way the rolled values work based on item rarity. Like, a green item would cap at +1 or up to +1% and blue would be +2/2% and so on. That would solve many problems imo. Loot rarity could actually matter again once they fix the absurd base item stats. Maybe include armor/MR values in rarity as well to save PDR fighter.
Example a green rapier would cap at 1% phys power but a purple would be up to 3%
they havent done anything entire wipe and now suddenly they decide to rebalance everything lol.
i hope they know what they are doing and it will make sense when we get the other half of whatever this patch is supposed to be
imagine if they squished the bottom and the top by making the base stats just matter less. You still would have the placebo of getting way better but it would be closer.

Not mentioned: Shoes of Darkness lost 3 MS to gain the 3 vigor/3 dex.

This can be fixed if they allowed more sub stats on gear (gloves/ boots can have max health or pdr) & higher grade gear offered a higher cap. Say +3 health in green, 6 for legendary.
They need to revert this patch.

In a game like Tarkov, it’s not even common to die in just one or two hits; you at least have a chance to regroup, heal, or do something else. In D&D, there’s none of that because movespeed has been the ULTRA META since the beginning. Fights that are over in a second aren’t fun at all; it has nothing to do with skill but rather who gets lucky and lands the first hit. I’ve spent thousands of hours in Tarkov and hundreds in various hardcore games like DayZ, Rust, and Souls titles-I love hardcore gaming. But it has nothing to do with hardcore or skill when players can one or two-hit others in a medieval game.
Why is there even gear in the game? Just give everyone base kits for all classes and we’ll have a nice battle royale title. Looting feels pointless when killing players becomes so quick. At first, getting kills feels good and you feel accomplished, but after a week, it just feels stupid and lacks any real tension when players are always taken down in two seconds. We’ve all experienced the thrill of rushing through dungeons to regroup and heal, and I don’t see that anymore.
Yes, I want a hardcore game, but please one that makes sense and allows me to fully utilize my tactical skills, rather than just mindlessly slaughtering everything. Well, I’m uninstalling D&D for now; I don’t want to play a game that ultimately doesn’t appeal to me. I hope that in the future you find good competition that gives us what we truly want! Good luck with D&D; I sincerely hope you realize your mistakes after all these years and approach things differently.

They essentially gave reddit everything they asked for, which is why the complaints confuse me. I don't necessarily like the changes, but they're what reddit has begged for daily.
SDF should've seen an optomometrist before pushing his vision. I would love to very politely ask what his ideas were and why.. Because I'm curious. Personally, I feel like I'm a good player, I have over 1100 hours and I know the game in an out. I learned to do HR version of every boss except Wyvern, I'm currently exemplar 2, maining fighter and I think I could push to Demi god without too much effort even with the current patch.
There's 2 things I mainly loved in the game, that really made me stick to it.
The potential Depth of pvp,
The progression, which is loot base in 95% of the cases.
In on patch they killed both. Now they might patch and re-buff TTK without reverted gear and at least the pvp would remain interesting. But knowing ironmace, they'll wait 1-2 week if they decide to finally revert, and it's going to be too late for this wipe. I would've been more forgiving if it was AFTER the wipe.
I dont hate the stat crunch, and the better loot. Its fun to me that the gear score matchmaking isnt getting minmaxed by job applicationphobic people looking for easy wins. But the survivability nerf, hp nerf, pdr nerf, plus all the other chsnges PUT TOGETHER is miserable. If i could ask for anything it would be to revert the change, keep the gear drop buff, and rethink the idea and come at it at a different angle

I legitimately uninstalled. I was looking forward to another games DLC this Thursday anyways and was hoping DaD would carry me over. After getting one shot 3 times today (one of which felt like they were cheating with wall hacks or something), i'm done.

I like the way sdf is moving things, the fact that EVEN with the best possible gear you should be afraid of dying to mobs or to others players instead of just steamroll everyone. Makes the pvp always meaningful and makes possible a player with worse gear outplay and win fights agains the sweaty boys
Lol yea u pvp for 2 days and then what? There is no reason to play after the initial few fights. Not to mention the PvP sucks ass cuz the fights last 2 seconds, 1 if you fight barbarian or longbow

I think the way they could make uniques worth getting again if they made some additional totally new rolls for uniques. Like they add 6 totally new rolls that only uniques can have and they will always contain at least one of them or have them rolls that normally they couldn't have, like action speed for weapons or something like that
They need to somehow bring the vast type of builds you could make before this patch back.
my take as 1500 hour casual. I am still being patient and see where SDF is taking us. This Patch has reveales just how many toxic people are on Discord 😂 however because of my job i have played one round since the update as solo cleric HR. I ran into a barb, popped my divine protection and he one tapped me....then i saw he was in common gear and he was already full of loot, he didn't even loot my grimsmiles.... and i didnt get them back from the goblin merchant, that did feel bad😂

this update bricked alot of my gear and made gear i sold off last week BIS. normals feels like it had the loot stealth nerfed 20 hours farming in a luck set nothing worth using.
Games been boring since they removed the circle and made portals appear on the map LOL. No pressure, no movement and people just camp a portal till it opens. Bring back the old style game. When this first came out in early access on steam like two years ago, my god it was something...

Since the update I’ve been running around on my barb killing everyone. Literally one tapping most classes. It’s not even fun. The only thing that counters me sometimes is other barbs. I actually tried to run one of my good fighter kits that I still had and got two shotted by a barb. This game is actually fucked now lol.
Man I’m pushing 4k hours in this game, and before this patch I liked where they were going with a lot of the changes it was refreshing and made me want to play the game more, only thing I think they should’ve changed and I’ve been saying this for awhile is the hp you can get on gear. Imo that was the main thing separating the super geared players from the lower geared players was having triple hp rolls on every piece of gear, I think that stat is the main deciding factor of being able to win a fight doesn’t matter how much damage you deal or how fast your action speed is if you die in 1-2 hits so I like that they dumbed down the hp rolls on gear but I don’t like everything else they’ve done if they would’ve just changed the hp rolls and nerfed rage and increased the move speed penalty on barbarians 2 handed weapons the game would’ve been in a great spot where it was at imo and then they could’ve focused more on adding actual content.
I genuinely don’t care about Dark and Darker anymore, I wanted a hardcore gear based game where you have to be wise with what fights you take. But now it’s just midevil Call of Duty. I’m just going into high roller with 4 to 5 grey windless crossbows on Ranger and ruining someones day and that’s all ill do because gear is worthless. To everyone looking for a alternative go check out midnight walkers, they’re having a playtest right now.

I don't really care about the doom posting, game feels better to play atm. You can still kite barbs and Ranger apparently will always be stupid.
I understand the appeal of stat checking, but reducing the health meta and time to kill just feels better to me.
Also giving Timmy a better chance in squire gear will encourage him not to immediately uninstall the game.

I agree with the general idea that everyone you run into should be a threat if they play well. I don't agree that top end gear needs to be just very slightly more useful than base kit gear, at the end of the day it removes a lot of incentive to actually learn the PvE. If they remove that, just change the game to a BR or arena only game, goofy.
I am enjoying the equal playing field as someone who can only play a few games a night. But I don't think the buffs/nerfs are beneficial for the game as a whole. Gear aside, each character should more or less be equal. I like gear being equal, with nuanced benefits.
Idk why they nerfed PDR so damn much they had already nerfed it just by having ruins as the starter map for trios where movespeed is key. I'm done with the game for now which kinda sucks because I already took a few long breaks before this because of bad patches and multiclassing crap.

they dont nerf any PDR thing they just nerf everything down and show people that PDR and hp for all class got nerf so nothing chance for example fighter 69% PDR + 195HP fight rogue 20%PDR + 120hp now drop down for fighter are 64% PDR + 180 HP VS rogue 14% PDR and 93HP that mean nothing chance
not true...rogue were getting 2 shots by pretty anyone already...it will still be 2 hits...
I think it would be fair to give more pdt to fighter if it made them swing slower, move slower, and not hit as hard. Fighters have had it all for to long imho.
I tried the patch and died to split shot in every single game or I was attacking a attacking a warlock that was infinitly healing back up. After few games in squire kit I decide to go back to studying and waste no more time on this garbage. I never in my life played runescape and decided to give it a shot whenever im taking break from studying.

I’m not hating the new patch but barbs seem a bit overturned. They should lose easily another 25 health. Also the fact that common weps are basically legendary grade damage is extremely bizarre.
I really hope they back off from these changes
they need to bring back playtest 3 gameplay in test server not playtest 4 playtest 3 with no slow on hit and the overall greater move speed, just watch gameplay from playtest 3 the game feel so much better

I though Grimsmile was 1 Str, 2 Vigor. That’s what the ones have have currently have. I think you got the stat changes ambackwards on that one @Onepeg unless new crafts are reversed?

theres a reason no one runs oracle robe 5 knowledge is cool but its worth about as much as dogshit when youre 1 shot without a ton of vigor roles and max hp on whatever you can get it on
Been playing since playtest 2. Still not tired of PvE, and never really cared too much for PvP. Game has been unbalanced for a while with WILD nerfs and buffs swinging things every patch.
I freaked out after seeing the patch. I'll give it a week or two and see. Honestly been having fun with barb and ranger in the meantime.
