    I moved to the UK from Japan, so I was specifically looking for a small rice cooker that is equally good and can be bought in the UK. Your love of rice was important too, I eat it every day, needed the review of someone who is obsessed with good rice and can tell the difference. Many thanks!!

    I had the panda rice cooker but i had to send it back as i couldnt get on with the bowl, i couldn’t see the level indicators in the bowl as its the same colour as the inside of the bowl (black) i was trying to look at all angles and could not see the numbers. so i returned it and bought a Zojirushi 3 cup equivalent which i have no complaints at all. If the panda had the writing for the level indicators in a white colour like the other brands i would still have had it. I do feel the panda is quite basic and the buttons are not the greatest compared to Zojirushi one i have. But for the price it would have been a good small cooker.

    Hey, thank you so much for your video! I have now also bought the rice cooker and use it in the office. Do you use sushi rice or regular basmati?

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use regular short grain in mine.

    Great review/video, but one question tho, does this model has a rubber at the lid to prevent overflow or water coming out from the bowl ?

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I no longer have this to check, but pretty sure it has a seal around the lid like the larger version.

    Dislike the review the basics of the review was fine. But I'd rather you would of turned it on let viewers see it working etc.

    It would have helped more if you included a little how to cook your first bowl of rice. I don't need the advertisement as I already bought mine and was looking for a "how to use this thing". I got confused by the manual. (Though this is my first rice cooker so that might be common knowledge to the rest of the world.) I was esp. confused that there is this rotating snail as a cooking indicator. Also, the amount of cups of rice vs water I find weird, esp. since it's delivered 160ml cup, bit the manual speaks of 180ml per cup. And should I add a cup for a cup of rice or shall I fill the water until it reaches the bar?

      Hi Philipp,
      Sorry for the late reply.
      The measuring cup is 180ml - the last line marked on the cup is 160ml and this does confuse some customers. However, a measuring cup filled full to the top is 180ml. To cook 1 cup of rice, fill the measuring cup to the very top, put into the inner bowl and then fill with water to the 1 mark on the inner bowl. You then press the menu button to select the cooking programme.
      When Panda starts cooking, there is a chasing lines pattern that appears on the display to show that it is cooking and then it beeps and switches to keep warm where a count-up clock shows on the display so you know how long it's been on keep warm.
      If you have any other questions, please let us know.

      @@YumAsia Hi there, I was wondering how you turn this rice cooker off? Do you have to pull the plug out of the socket or does it have an off button?

    • @YumAsia
      @YumAsia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guntersg Panda doesn't have an off switch, here in the UK we have switches on our sockets so it's easier to turn off appliances without having to unplug. If you don't have a switch on your socket, you will need to unplug Panda to turn it off.

      @@YumAsia Thanks for your reply. I just ordered mine earlier but I have to say I don't understand why so many rice cookers don't have a simple on/off switch. It just seems so counterintuitive.

    Quick question. Is the 24hr timer a delay timer? I wake up to freshly cooked rice I can take to work for lunch. I don't really want to use to keep warm option so it's on all night is all

      When using the preset timer you simply have to set the number of hours until you want your rice to be ready and that's it. So say it's 11pm and you want the rice to finish cooking at 8am then you simply set the display to show 9:00 hours

    @ 6:00 why (and how) would you want to control the amount of steam the thing gives off? Also, if the steam vents from the top hole, why then the collector at the back?

    Hi. Am I missing any feature or will I notice a taste difference in rice if I buy Panda instead of more expensive induction-heating Bamboo? I am single so I'd prefer the smaller footprint and lower price of Panda, all other things being equal. I tend to eat primarily Basmati rice, though I plan to expand on to some fancier rice in the future. Thanks!
