What a great new toy to have in your back yard ... was loads of fun watching the set up and especially learning of times gone by from the old homestead .... im sure many a night will be spent sipping over that old creek ... a big thanks to "Zipline Gear" for providing the entertainment ..
Good old fashion fun! No batteries, no electronics. The water hazard (AKA pond) will make for an awesome addition on a hot day. Can you use the spool that the cable came on to wind up the retrieval rope? Attach a carriage bolt with a PVC pipe handle to the spool and hand crank the seat back up?
@@Guildbrookfarm On my setup as a kid, we had a full length retrieval rope but had the shock cord integrated in to it as well. That way you don't need the third tree. It was all at the top of the run too, nothing but an emergency stop block at the bottom. All attached to the trolley that way it's out of the way.
Y'ALL ARE ADVENTUROUS, SMART, BOLD, BRAVE, DETERMINED, CREATIVE, UNSTOPPABLE, AND A TAD CRAZY :) I WOULDA JUST PUT IN A POOL AND CALLED IT ENTERTAINMENT. LOVE THE ZIP LINE THOUGH.
I like seeing old homesites like that. Might be worth someone's time to hit that one with a metal detector. Also, gold can be associated with iron pyrite- don't know much about NC's geology though. Last, but not least; this has to be one of your all time coolest videos. Zip line over the crick? Hell ya!!
Good neighbors, beautiful location. So nice to see you all having some fun, (after all your hard work). Loved the bit at the end ("redecorating- ehh")!😄
Bahaha!!! I just almost spewed my coke! "It'll be alright. We'll let the kids test it out." That's awesome! I've been planning a zip line for a while now, but haven't settled on buying parts and piecing it together or buying a branded kit. Keep us informed. :)
I lived in North Carolina for six years and really I did not have a good time living there. But one of the really good times that I did have was my husband and I are panning for gems in the cricks in North Carolina. At the time we had our precious puppy Ada who lived to be almost 13 years old and she was a boxer. Actually she was bought at this family owned a pet store that has it been in business for like 40 years. It was right outside of Asheville I can’t remember the name of the town.
With the zip line down around the old homestead, be nice to fix up that fireplace for an outdoor patio to use while yall are entertaining there. Few flat stones on the ground, picnic table and home built grill and it is the perfect and beautiful spot for some summer fun.
Love your videos! You guys are true Americans 2nd amendment, Hard work, and a little fun along the way! Can’t wait to see your finished homestead house. Thank you
I've missed you all , Grateful to see you two, Grateful to see that you got some fine fine Neighbors, I certainly hope all is going well. Uno mas cerveza porfavor...
That looks fun for everyone. By the way Jamie I ordered the Pacsafe Metrosafe a few weeks ago using your link. It was the best price out there after all. I am very happy with it. I use it everyday. After watching your Napal video I also bought a small emergency hand crank radio with a very loud alarm to carry in it also. Im glad you showed us that bag.
Make sure to line your new pond with sodium bentonite. It's been around since the 1800's and was originally used by mining companies to water proof their tunnels. Today its used to line the ponds on golf courses all over the United States. If the pond is strategically located, it could also be used to help fight forest fires using a portable water pump.
Looks like a lot of fun for everyone! Would be an awesome place to metal detect. I see you're already finding treasures with that spoon and knife! You guys definitely have a slice of Heaven there.
Now Garret needs to send you a metal detector for the old home site. Maybe Auqachigger or nuggetnoggin will come hunt the site for you for a colaberation vid.
For the brake bungee, if you have another tree on each side of the zip line near the end, run a small length of cable between them overtop of the zip line cable and attach a pulley to a fixed point in the middle of it. Then run your bungee from the tree at the end of your zip line through the pulley and then double back to your brake block. This way almost all the slack can be out behind the stop block where you’re not going to hit it/get tangled in it. It’s what the professional commercial zip line operators have as a setup when I’ve seen them use the bungee brake system.
Yep, hand tools and brute strength! But they might've had help from neighbours for some of the most brutal bits and in turn would've helped them to build their homes. Weren't they brave though back then? They certainly chose a lovely spot for their home. Pythagoras to the rescue lol. That looks like great fun, will you need to re-tension the line before you use it the first few times?
jealous! we just don't have that much grade....here int he piedmont... we live on an old homstead too... nothin better... I really need that zip line in my life...LOL... ~ Lea
Haha, this neighbor cracks me up "it will be alright, let the kids test it out" ....lol
Lol, "it'll be alright, well let the kids test it out" that's awesome!
I know you have had a few challenges, but your new life looks like it's agreeing with you and your family.
Yowzer! The three amigos attached the clampey thing to the tree saver, the do ma flatchy and the thing-a-ma-bob and made a zip line! Looks like fun!

looks like lots of fun. good to see the whole family out and about.
If you see pyrite I’d pan. Gold is often near by.
Cool zip line.

That’s a darn good idea 💡👍🏻

What a beautiful place and so much fun!!
Great video. I would've thought that you just needed a bully and some cable, but this kit is well done. Not cheap, but safer and complete.
Super cool!! Have had one on my list of things to get. Enjoy!! Nice to see the Girls.
Looks fun for sure! Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic! Some good summer fun :)
Good job all/teamwork👍👍
How fun! My sister has a zip line at her place.
It's sooo beautiful there. Jaime, when are you going to show us how you shoot your 45? :-)
I enjoyed the homestead tour. I'm a history buff
The North Carolina gold rush only ended due to the California Gold Rush. That creek probably still has some good gold in it.
You should definitely do some metal detecting! We did some at an unexplored cave in Missouri once and found so many neat things!
Cool zipline yall !!! 👍👊👍

Greetings from west central Florida.
Wolf🐺 👍
this made me smile, today .. ty
You'll probably use it about 10 times and then it will sit there like the swing. I have too many of those things around the place already.
🤣 Redecorating 😂
Classic. 💕
Cool zip line.
You should call in Nugget Noggin, who is on TH-cam, to metal detect the old homestead for you. He lives in North Carolina.
