    I love fruit. The beautiful colors and flavors. They are so beautiful and not a food I see as detrimental. I've heard the body treats natural fruit sugars very differently from processed beet and cane sugar.

      @@Marty22408 not wrong, fruit is absolutely our power food, research shows it's harder for us to digest vegetables and the nutrients are not as bioavailable. Veggies also have chemicals that give many people issues without even realizing it.

    I never thought I would become a vegan. It happened in matter of a week, after I was sick. I had been asking my body and Spirit for a couple of months how I should eat for optimal wellness. It was shown to me in several different ways that it was good tor me to eat a plan based diet. Very soon, I couldn’t stomach meats, dairy, eggs, or animal fats. This coincided with new developments in my spiritual journey. Now, those foods make me sick.

      Hi Phoenix, I exactly went through the same thing. Before my spiritual awakening, I didn’t have any allergies to any food. But after my spiritual awakening, I’m allergic to chicken, duck, eggs, and pork. If I ate them, I get sick for 2-3days.. I also never imagine me to be a began.

    I'm vegan as I'm allergic to milk and eggs. I also can't have any gluten grains, except for oats as the gluten is different and much less. Quinoa doesn't agree with me and soy gave me terrible hormonal problems. I've found that cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is best for me and lots of nuts and seeds and lentils. For fruit I just eat apples mostly but occasionally some others, although I find bananas extremely difficult to digest. Giving up sugar is hard as I like chocolate, but I have tried to cut down. I sometimes eat brown rice. What you say about diet being different for everyone is true. A nutritionist once told me that people should eat according to their own cultural and ethnic background as their ancestors have eaten those foods for centuries and so ones body has developed certain tolerances for those foods.

    I'm just seeing this video 2 yrs after u filmed it 🙂 n its neat tht my body did this food switch without me realizing tht it could have any means to my awaking like tht 🥰 I still have eaten animal meat however I have slown down myself. I have kids so I do still cook it but I myself have noticed and felt the difference in my eating habits, however alota my eating has changed over the last 11 or 12 yrs due to medical reasons (which has actually been a positive) also I have been a drinker (not alcoholic) just like wine and like drinks for awhile. The nxt day after I took my first big step into my awakening I literally couldn't drink even a sip of wine and I haven't had a drink since. I drink teas and smoothies now, my body just did its own switch and it has given me more energy more emotional hight its been great. I just never gave my diet any thought to this so it's neat to hear this. I've also become even more then b4, into nature and a drive to submerge myself into it and feel it 🥰 ive been buying plants and teaching myself how to care for them (with help from others 🙂) I'm excited tht I'm going threw my awakening. N ur videos have resignated n helped me so thank u 💓

    To those who are not allergic, I would also recommend all products of beekeeping. They are very rich in high quality nutrients and have a very pure energy - that "Sattva" kind of energy, as it is called in Ayurvedic medicine. I have recently started to use them in the maximum recommended dose and I find them A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! Very useful on a spiritual path!

    Thank you for discussing this in such a non-judgmental & fair-minded way. I've avoided anything to do with diet, even though I know it's important for health (mental & physical) as well as spiritual growth because I can't stand bullies & holier-than-thou folks. IMO, nothing is worse than being lectured by a former addict (smokers, meat-eaters. sugarholics, etc.)
    Love your approach to eating, "diet" really is a 4-letter word :) Like other commenters, I'm so grateful you see the benefits of our beloved avocados. (How would I live w/o almond milk?)
    I like your distinction between "land animals" and those that live in the sea. I've been concerned about killing sentient beings, which to me includes plants. Studies now show that even though their communication & social interactions are different than ours, there is definitely a lot of conversation, feelings, and even fellowship happening in "plant communities". And don't get me started on octopus, squid, & turtles.
    For a long time, I've been conscientious about sustainability on land & sea, for ALL living things (plants, animals, fisheries, etc.) Corporate farming, illegal & poorly monitored hunting/fishing practices, not to mention non-union exploitation of farm & manufacturing workers is something we should all consider before we pat ourselves on the head for being "woke" or spiritually evolved.

      I knew of someone who ate fruits (meant to fall off the plant), seeds, nuts, vegetables, grain, and even only animal meat freshly killed in the road (no fear hormones). To each his own. But for those that scoff at roadkill? It is more nutritious than commercial meat.

    Don't eat red meat anymore or four legged mammals, but am a Pescatarian i.e. seafood/fish which this Cape Codder loves along with organic veggies/fruit! Hard to beat the starchy carbs though! BTW, Christina being from Portugal, did you know that Portuguese fishermen settled on the Cape where we also have those beautiful blue hydrangeas the Azores have and we still have Portuguese bakeries/restaurants and Portuguese kale soup here! We also have an annual "Blessing of the Fleet" Festival in Provincetown at the tip of the Cape where most of the Portuguese fishermen and their families settled in the late 1800s to honor them! My oldest 22 year old granddaughter also has some Portuguese blood in her from her Dad's side of the family ...small world! Thank you for more tips and advice~ blessed be.

    I usually don’t eat lots of vegetables as I have auto immune issues and find a meat based diet with some plants has kept me healthy mentally and physically. Processed foods have a negative effect on me. I was vegetarian in the past and had multiple issues.

    Dang, I'm not that into sweets but salty foods are my jam. I LOVE rice, pasta, spicy noodles, wraps/burritos...and if I yearn sweets, I am a sucker for pastries!! All the bad things 😂 But I am strong willed and even if I do have my weak moments, I forgive myself. Eating healthy and with more intuitively feels so good and it gets easier! One tip from me; never cut ALL the good things from your "diet". You can always treat yourself with goodies, just with moderation. 💚🌱

    I need a lot of carbohydrates, but only the good ones! And a lot of fruit and vegetables. I only lust after meat once in six months, and I wouldn't eat more, because I find the industrial livestock farming disgusts me and makes me sad. I eat completely vegan about 2 to 3 times a weeks, the rest vegetarian. I can't let go of cheese or chocolate sometime so far, but I HAVE been a Vegan for a few months several years ago. It felt great! ;-) I aspire to make most of my days on Earth vegan to protect animals.

    When I got diagnosed w/ diabetes I thought I was gonna die; dr. said no french fries, no pastry, no nothing good as far as I was concerned, but then I used my noggin & started checking out old cookbooks' substitution lists, like unsweetened applesauce instead of vegetable oil. Have you ever tried sweet potatoes fried in a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil? Used a 3:1 ratio of finely ground almonds to flour in your zuke/pumpkin bread. yum! Dig this, dark chocolate is actually good for your brain, blood sugar & mood...

    Hi Christina, I absolutely love your videos...this clip in particular strikes a cord...that's pretty much what I have been doing for many years now...once in a while I still feel the need for a home made bone broth, to calm me down and replenish the body, but lately I am not digesting the meat any longer...I am allergic to the milk proteins, glutines, and even most of the nuts, there is very little left that I can eat, but I am okay with being vegetarian for the most part, eggs I can still eat...I'm transitioning to become completely vegeterian, at least that is my goal; I admit that you almost lost me on the fries a lill' bit...I cannot sink my teeth in a french-fry anymore, in my opinion it's not worthy being sick for days on, but I respect your point of view on life, no problem with me. Thank you and kind regards :)

    I have always been a meat eater. Once I began to become more awake and spiritual, the less I could eat meat. Fortunately, months before I had undergone gastric bypass and my body had physically rejected it but when it came time to be able to eat it again, it caused pain in my tummy. I still craved it, however. Not now. In the last few weeks, I can not tolerate the taste at all. Not even chicken or eggs. My body is now craving vegetables and fruits.

    People tend to talk about “carbs” in general, as if all carbs were created equal. Veggies are carbs, fresh fruit is carbs, French fries are carbs, ice cream is carbs, beans and lentils are carbs. Are all the same? Of course not. Highly processed foods (carbs included) are killing us slowly.

  • @corinlanser
    @corinlanser 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Definitely listen to your body and make any changes in line with improved digestion and overall energy levels.
    However I strongly disagree on the blanket statement to eat lots of vegetables. As with meat it depends on the welfare/growing method..even organic vegetables can be sprayed , but with non organic usually we're talking heavily loaded with pesticides and or insecticides. ..
    You are what you eat.
    I eat very little vegetables these days, mostly keto diet but leaning more now towards carnivore, which, from what I've read is what our bodies and more importantly digestive systems were designed for, for best energy utilisation... original nomadic people and early tribes were scavengers mostly, small animals, insects, berries nuts...we cannot survive without fat and protein. .and naturally all come from animals in one form or another. To eat lots of vegetables puts massive strain on suggestion with over consumption fibre. .which is not needed unless you block up your system. .
    Make your own decisions though, I'm not saying any particular way is wrong,. The human body is very adaptable and after ice she we likely moved from necessity to cultivating grains and eating vegetables as little animals around in any form, and there are problems possibly taking on emotions from higher mammals, as enlightenment literature suggests from the eastern philosophies. especially if stressed in slaughter or keeping...
    Anyway i will see how my life and diet evolves further but for now I feel better than ever mentally and physically from mostly animal product intake.

    • @ChristinaLopes
      @ChristinaLopes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I know the keto/paleo view well. Was a paleo eater for many years. But have since changed my mind significantly. The truth is, there has never been just one way of eating for humans. And the idea that veggies aren't good for you... Sorry... I don't buy it. And keto/paleo is not an option for many people who don't consume animal protein for spiritual/ethical reasons.

      @@ChristinaLopes, how can it be ethical and spiritual if it is not supporting the body and mind? I think we can't sustain a strong body and mind without animal products. Sometimes too much vegetables irritate the digestive system, like too much fruits and sugar damage the brain.

      My body requested fruits,vegetables, nuts and beans. I did the transition without knowing it was an important part of the awakaning.

    "How can we be in harmony with life when we're the living graveyards of other animals?" George Bernard Shaw.

    • @ChristinaLopes
      @ChristinaLopes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you believe that a Buffalo is in higher harmony with life than the lion that eats him? Is the worm in more harmony with life than the bird that eats it? To me all animals are in harmony and yet, many of them are not herbivores.

    • @paulbarnett9620
      @paulbarnett9620 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChristinaLopes But carnivorous animals do not employ a industrialised killing process. They simply act in accordance with their nature. It could be argued that all animals live in harmony with life as they do not approach it through the filter of the ego. When a tsunami is about to hit the beach only one species remains in the area, unwittingly still applying sun cream, wondering where all the birds went.

      @@paulbarnett9620 Yep, agree that the way many people consume animals is through a highly unethical system (industrialized farming) but I just like to caution about not being absolutist. Native traditions from all over the world have hunted since the dawn of time, when they were completely connected to nature and its cycles. And I believe they were in harmony with nature. There's a lot of change occurring on the planet toward a more moral and ethical way of being and consuming. It's important to point that out also.

      You're right. Ironically, Tibet's altitude does not allow for arable farming and so the populace is largely meat eating yet there is no doubting their Buddhist faith. Maybe in the west we're a little too obsessed with labels, Vegetarian, vegan, carnivore... And, unfortunately with labels comes the shaming of others not of 'our tribe.' I liked the George Bernard Shaw quote simply because it made me stop and think a very long time ago, but I'd not dream of telling others what they should have on their plate. Can I also just say how much I enjoy your videos. They often put me in mind of something a Buddhist monk once said to me - it's all very simple, not always easy but very simple.

    Are a nutritionist or therapist experienced in eating disorders? No! Then why individualize plans of eating for people? To make some extra money for yourself? There might be people with eating disorders on this channel who are attracted to all the spiritual stuff you talk about. What if a person with a history in eating disorder comes to you for “nutrition” advice? Will you give it to them?

    All oils are not to be recommended; maybe once in a while. You eat butter, that has saturated fat and a lot of cruelty in it; this is a disappointment, indeed. Pasture fed animals cause more ecological devastation than cattle in feedlots and are far to be free of cruelty; too bad that you are contributing for more deforestation and extinction of species. It seems to me that your diet is contributing to the killing of calves just at the time when they are born, so you can get the dairy product. You are implying that it is OK to eat fish, but we are overfishing the oceans, and farm fish industries are very cruel industries and filthy (heavy metals, E. coli, etc.). I would like for you to please consider the power that you have to influence others, give better recommendations. Please be more compassionate and more environmentally conscious, and recommend plant-based diet. Please do it for the animals, for Mother Earth and ecosystems, for reducing global warming and and reducing your ecological footprint, and do it for humanity, and even for your health, and your spirituality. I do not know if you just want to be politically correct by giving the recommendations that you give. Nevertheless, been spiritual should include been highly compassionate and been some one who has reverence for all life, after all we all are ONE, including non-human animals. By the way our human anatomy is not designed as a carnivore or omnivore, but as a herbivore like our causing, gorillas. I think you are great, but obviously your ethics still need to be refined. Please!! Educate yourself more about the negative impact that humanity is creating toward life on Earth due to the insistence in eating animal products. In the 21st century we cannot afford to continue to eat animal products. The cost is too high. Help out!
