- Thought I’d record a video on how to connect your homewhiz compatible washer to the app as I have read that quite a lot of people do have trouble trying to get the machine to connect to the app
I also show off everything you can do such as setting up a program to store on the machine and the extra functions that cottons and synthetics allows you to use that aren’t on the machines main control panel

Hey everyone I know quite a lot of you who are coming across this video are disappointed at the fact the machine won’t connect to the app but honestly just forget about it the app is currently one of the worst apps created to control the washer and has the slight capability to break the machine if constantly used with it! I used it quite a bit with my current blomberg washer and one day the app caused the machine to continue spinning when it wasn’t meant to resulting in a kitchen flooded with suds and then proceeded to make the machine completely freeze up mid cycle now after not using it for a few months the machine works completely fine and doesn’t glitch as much as it did when I constantly used the app and the only thing the app lets you do is start a custom wash with downloadable extra cycles/options not on the machine it doesn’t let you check the progress mid cycle anymore as the machines turn the Bluetooth off after 4 minutes of not connecting.
If you want a machine just for remote control capability go for a Bosch that has WiFi remote control if you can afford it as most machines that have some remote start don’t work that well anyway just like this but if your happy to just use the machine as normal without the use of a phone then a beko homewhiz model is the best way to go as they have more options on the machine and are way more flexible with cycle choices compared to the non homewhiz ones

Thanks for doing this video it was very helpful! I cannot believe the app did not provide the instruction after turning knob to off press the temp and remote button to start the set up mode. So your video got mine to connect thanks!!!
I’m really glad the video helped but honestly please don’t use the app with the machine :( the app completely broke this machine in the video and also my last one. It corrupts the pcb which causes the machines to badly glitch mid cycle to the point they need new control boards which isn’t cheap (my last one randomly paused itself mid cycle and also nearly flooded the kitchen once) of course it’s your machine so it’s up to yourself just wouldn’t want the same thing to happen to yours as it’s happening to all the ones that are used fairly often with the app ☹️

If machine wont connect: reninstall the app and give the app permission to all services. That worked for me

So do you recommend the new Grundig washing machines? I really love the new design and some of the new technologies they implemented but the whole tumble being a bit smaller compared to the older models makes me a bit concerned.
Honestly it really depends on the model that you choose the only grundigs I’d recommend are the ones that don’t have FIBERCatcher (such as a GW75942TW or any of the other ones with the same design) unless your happy not to use synthetics, sports and shirts as they’ve really badly programmed the cycles that “use” FIBERCatcher (for example it does a fill stage before the main wash to detect the load which causes the detergent for the wash to be dissolved during that short sensing phase and be wasted due to it draining out all the water it has used and also determines whether or not it will use the FIBERCatcher filter or not) if I had to be honest if you want all the features of this and doesn’t have that awful FIBERCatcher technology your better of getting a beko aquatech bpro500 (such as a B5W5942IW) it’s basically the same machine (has a drum light, homewhiz and WaterCare only on it it’s called aquatech) only difference is it doesn’t have FIBERCatcher and the machines design is ever so slightly different. Also about the drum even though it looks smaller it’s the exact same size as the older models it’s just that they’ve made the drum way wider and less deep so that the machine has a slimmer depth 😉

I’m sorry about the trouble homewhiz is giving you both the app is an absolute mess my current machine is 8 and a half months old and now requires new pcb’s because the app has corrupted the software on the current ones which now causes the machine to glitch a lot mid cycle. really feel like having a machine that refuses to connect to the shambolic app is the best possible outcome as at least it can’t break the machine in the long run like it has for me 😕
