So... I don't know how when I watched this movie I didn't realize the boy in the Gulag was Batman, maybe it just didn't register that much time had passed for him to be a grown man by then
1) batman and his parents were sent to the gulag where his parents later died during Stalin's rule, leading him to hating Superman who was basically Stalin's poster boy at the time 2) superman got caught up in the constant conflict over the years with lex and governing the entirety of USSR which led to him being gradually pushed towards more drastic solutions 3) no explanation from the movie
