    I used 1/2 inch plastic transparent pipe for aquarium, insert the pipe into the half full reservoir and blow couple of time. A problem resolved. I found that trick in one of the youtube

      Honestly I will probably just try flex tape.

    Nice video with good imaging of the issue. Instead of buying a new hose, can get this first: Plastic Hose Barb Fitting, 1/8 in. , cut out the bad part in the hose, insert hose barb fitting, and see if that fixes the problem before getting a whole brand new reservoir.

    I've noticed a small amt of leakage behind the driver's side front wheel that I'm virtually certain is windshield washer fluid. I've got a 2019 Forester-can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the washer system between the 2019 and the 2014-2018? (Specifically regarding access/removal/replacement; Subaru can no doubt give me the part numbers/replacement parts for my 2019.) Also, I too was curious: Why didn't you just fix / replace the faulty tubing? Was there actually something wrong with the reservoir and/or sensor? (Apologies if I missed the answer somewhere in the vid!)

    Great video but shame on Subaru for making a plastic part so stinking difficult to replace. That is major disassembly! My 2014 Forester needs this done but I can live with the light on. Can’t imagine the labor cost on that due to having to tear the front off the car. The part is $90.00 retail. I can buy a lot of washer fluid for that.

      All auto manufacturers are making things very difficult to service by a consumer or by a mechanic.. that was always the plan! They like being able to charge you $500-$10,000 to have to take it to the dealership to get a dealer certified mechanic or the factory to fix the issue… and if it’s an issue that can’t be fixed by the dealer without major expense to you, their inevitable hope is that you will opt to just replace the vehicle altogether with another new plastic pos you can’t work on yourself!

    My sensor stays off. It's a real con to have to replace the whole reservoir.

    I have a crack in mine and bought a new one want to replace in 2011 forester would it be the same set up ?

      Yes, should be very similar.

    I believe my sensor is bad because my low fluid light stays on even when the reservoir is full. Does anyone know if I can get the light to turn off by just unplugging it? I don't really need it.

      @@stephenc2973 I haven't tried unplugging it, I've just been driving with the light on. It sucks but I really don't want to spend money on something that I don't have to.

    Your video does not show how you got to the reservoir to remove it. Did you remove a body part? Many thanks!

    Does ‘14 Outback have this same setup? I can’t stand this light being on all the time.

      Similar, but not exactly the same. Not fun removing the bumper, but that light is really annoying. Good luck.

    Why would you need to replace the whole thing if it's only the tubing that's bad?

    • @UsefulVids

      The sensor in the tank was faulty as well.

  • @ralphroberts3291

    Thank you for your good video , question, is there a way to by pass the sensor? It is not needed, if I run out of fluid, I will know it with out a light telling me it's out! Thank you.

    • @UsefulVids
      @UsefulVids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't really looked into it, but I'm sure it's possible. It uses a simple sensor to warm the driver when the fluid is low. F

      Were you able to bypass it? I believe my sensor is broken and I don't really want to spend $100 for a whole new reservoir, but the low fluid light is driving me nuts.

    Hi bro. Nice video, realy liked it. Do you know if one of the pumps is for for headlight washers ?

    • @UsefulVids
      @UsefulVids  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi - this forester didn't have headlight washers. I believe one pump is for the front windshield and the other is for the rear glass washer.
