I always mark the bottom corners of our sheets with an initial, k for king etc., in permanent marker. It really makes it easier for me to match sets.

Suzie, I think the bedroom will be lovely when you finish decorating. I'm glad you and Rols are like most of us and take purchasing things slow as everything is so expensive. Most of us decorate with what we have or buy things slowly over time because of the expense. We've been married 54 years as of July 19th and I still have things I'd like to do in our house. Yes Suzie I’ve had a few failures in my garden too because of the long hot Summer and wet freeezing cold winter. Hopefully Springs going to be nice and not windy

Suzie, we have had a wet summer too, I potted my tomatoes in large flower pots and 5 gallon painter's buckets. I can put them under cover when it rains. Has work out great.

Try adding calcium to your soil for the tomatoes. Ground up eggshells work a treat. It helps prevent the end rot on the tomatoes. To help match up the linens and keep track of which sheets go together, I use a different color of embroidery thread to mark the differing sets or I make different shapes with the embroidery thread for each set. One set has daisies, another a paisley, and another a snail. It makes it much easier for me when putting sets together.

The cactus are edible. Actually, they are delicious. I suggest you research all the different ways that Mexicans cook them. My favorite is as a spring salad. You take the entire pod, and make sure you get all the pricklies off of it. Then slice it into long cubes, kind of like American french fries. Next soak them overnight in an Italian vinaigrette salad dressing. They are delicious. They can be fried, they can be dried and ground into a wheat like texture, and make bread from them. The juice can be turned into a refreshing drink in the summertime. Native Americans lived off of them year round . They called them "la tuna." The fruit makes prickly pear jelly. The jelly can be with or without hot peppers. Battered and fried, they taste similar to Okra...

I label (a few stitches simple embroidery, same color as bedding, bottom/inside edge) for my sheets, so if I’m washing different sizes of the same color it’s easy to see what size they are when I put them away.
We’re having too much rain and unusual temperatures here too. I know what you mean about the garden. It’s crazy what’s growing like mad any what’s rotting out. For example, I’m wondering whether I’ll have any spring bulb flowers next spring - I’ve found rotting crocus bulbs when weeding. And the weeds are going mad, the raspberries were massive, and the lawn is out of control. But no blueberries.

We used to have, king single, double, queen and king size sheets, all white. The easiest and quickest way for me was to get a fine permanent marker and write the initials of each sheet size in the corner of each sheet. Work well doing this way. Best wishes from Australia x

i honestly love watching your videos and I understand your situation but I would love to see the finished products. I know you were working on several other projects like the kitchen, the walls leading to the attic and others. I don't remember seeing any completed though.

It's just the two of us here doing everything, Rols is like a one and a half man band now I can't do so much unfortunately, but we carry on doing what we can, there are honestly so many things to do 😔
