@@Jromi lol maybe one day there will be a technology that lets us look into parallel worlds and then we can see what would have happened in a parallel dimension where the show was never cancelled. That’s the best we can hope for at this point 😬😅😔
Christina was a guest at a convention I attended this summer and she was so lovely, had time for everyone, was always smiling, and her dog was basically a bonus guest!
Excellent guest choice @The D-Con Chamber -- Christina Chong is a fantastic actress, wonderful with fans, and has a great voice on her music album too. And her dog (who also appears in a SNW episode) is cute too! Thank you for the interview!
La'an was a character I thought I would have a harder time with, because of preconceptions due to her lineage. But Christina was just incredible, and she's become my favorite character on SNW. She has showed so much range and done so many things on that show. I'm constantly amazed by her.
Strange New Worlds is exceptional, and Christina is wonderful in it. Her time-travel episode with Kirk will stand among the greatest in the franchise. Can't wait for next season!
49:48 Dom's "we went in balloons" had me rolling 🤣 Great episode, Christina is so charming and seems to be just crushing life, good for her.... I hope we get to see the Triad show on TV at some point!
A lovely interview with Christina Chong. She is obviously a woman of many talents and a great deal of drive. Glad to know our decon crew are safe and well. Have been watching from New Zealand the coverage of the LA fires with a good deal of concern. Unfortunately some of the comments online have been quite viscous towards to the community. 😳 The caring support of the Star Trek community is refreshing and no doubt will be appreciated and needed for some time yet. Take care and stay safe. Catch you next week. 🖖
What a stand-out actor/ singer and great guest to start the new season! Christina Chong is a generous, fun person to meet at STLV - I appreciate her making a get well soon video for my friend! Thanks so much @theDConChamber ! ❤💛💙🤓🖖🏾
Christina Chong is utterly delightful. What a perectly charming interview. Love her work and especially Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which is wondrously phenomenal.
First, Christina is one of my favorite actors. And, her performances in tomorrow, etc, and rhaposdy are amazing. Oh hell, they are all F'n amazing. She is a force and so talented.
I started with Star Trek in 1967 at the age of 5. My dad found it and put me in front of the TV to watch. I was already reading his Issac Asimov, so he knew I would love it. I was hooked from that day. All the series have their place in my heart. You, on Enterprise, did NOT kill the franchise or even hurt it as far as I am concerned. You told compelling stories on a huge range of themes, all handled with professional care and personal enthusiasm. Thank you for your contribution to my life and to the franchise. I was on board for three more seasons. Still am.
As a school Teacher today I find the idea of a 5-year old who is Reading Asimov quite mind-boggling 😂 I am teaching kids who Are 13 who can‘t read a simple text about Darwin and answer comprehension questions.
Great interview with Christina Chong. I will look forward to seeing and hearing more of her projects, especially the show that is based on her family story. Thank you for having her on!
It's wonderful that you had her on the podcast. I had the opportunity to speak with her very briefly not too long ago and she really is charming and friendly to speak with. Super talented and a great addition to your Trek family. Thank you for a great episode and podcast series.
Great interview! I love the fact that SNW films around the Toronto area. I'm always reminded of locations when I am in the city. Hope you get more of that cast on your show. Love it!
You got my like for your well informed and supportive stance towards supporting the defenders. Hailing from Canada myself but my heart goes out to all of those in danger, it disdains me so much to know that one of the planes we sent to help has been grounded due to damage sustained from impacting an illegally flown drone...
Amazing. Dom, Connor, Katy, Joe, Dave, Jonathan and all the rest. Looking forward to this episode always as a Gold Collar. I hope you are staying safe and well. Nanu Nanu 🖖🏻
FYI, "Con" Started as "Comic CON" as in comic books. I was a kid/fan when TOS was on but collected comic books (now all the Marvel Movies). It gradually broadened out as the TV movies and comic books overlapped Nothing starts in a comic book, but it did (Superman, SpiderMan, Flash Gordon)? People in Spider-Man outfits long before the first movie.
The only bad part about SNW is there's only 10 episodes a season. TNG and DS9 would churn out 20+ episodes a season. That's my only negative with the series. I want more of it.
Strange New Worlds is without a doubt the best of the "New Trek" - because it went for optimism instead of darkness, episodic strorytelling allowing for more diversity in the stories being told, and a good deal of the kind of lightheartedness that had sometimes been missing since TOS (a bit too much in season 2 for my taste, but still wonderful). Season 1 of Strange New Worlds actually ranks up there with my favorite seasons of all Trek - it's really _really_ good. And Christina Chong is truly a wonderful actress (and singer) playing her role exceedingly well.
I honestly would really love to "come around" on Strange New Worlds, but I just can't handle hearing Starfleet officers, let alone ones that are nearly 40 years old, speak like teenagers on TikTok. I'm sure the cast and crew put a lot of heartfelt work on the show!
Wish I could support you guys after all the hours of entertainment but the past 2 years have been a mess. My Pop had a stroke they gave him 6 weeks he lasted a a year, Now my mom has Leukemia and I spent all I got, I live in a house with no heat, and this week no water, the well has went bad. Fuck me, the lord isn't supposed to hurt you more than you can take but damn. My money is gone and I had a stroke myself. I'm untreated diabetic just at this point saying F it end!
If Disney don't kill it. Dom for the Next Dr Who and Conner as his Jiminy Cricket type grounding humanity type hitchhiker companion, covers UK and US fan's Darker and less spotlight on DEI. Back to a real Dr and companion and well written storylines. + it would be great to see a Trip/ Nigel reversal. We only can hope ay.
If yer government stop donating to a country committing Genocide, you'd probably have - as a state never mind a country - enough money to rebuild. But, until such times - not only will my travel ban to the US remain in place, the idea of sending money - he he he - not a chance! I get I'm watching a show from the US, but hey ho - we have lines we do and don't cross, and helping Americans is one I wouldn't cross
As far as I'm concerned, 'Enterprise' was a great show. I was disappointed it got cancelled. I still want more.
Oh man me too. I just finished watching it again, for the fourth time 😔, always sad when I get near the end of season four. I REALLY wish we got more!
same
I was furious when it was canceled. STE was a better show than anything else at that time.

Strange New Worlds is the Andor of modern Trek. It transcends all the production politics and embodies the true spirit of Roddenberry's Trek.
