You guys are under estimating the power of a grand prix. If you build it the way you want it to be fast it will kill any mustang. Don't get me wrong that mustang is awesome car but that grand prix should blow the doors off that mustang. I will put my last dollars on it. The Grand Prix I have I've beaten so many Mustangs

They have about the same power and the GXP is over 120 pounds heavier with an ridiculously tall 2.93 geared 4 speed automatic that finishes the 1/4 mile in 2nd gear not even shifting into 3rd gear until 102 mph. It's also FWD versus RWD and the S197 GT has an available 5 speed manual with 3.55 gearing. I'm a GM guy who really likes the Grand Prix GXP, and even I admit that there is no way a GP GXP is taking an S197 Mustang GT stock vs stock. Those S197's run 13.70's @ 103+ bone stock at sea level with a decent driver. GXP runs 14.20-14.30's @ 98. That's a huge difference. If you were only kidding, that was pretty funny ha ha. You definitely got a laugh out of me on that one lol. *If you reply and I don't answer back, it's because I'm having problems with my email and haven't been getting them just to let you know.

Maybe high altitude? that would explain the shit quarter mile time an trap speed.. The GT stock should be running at best with a good driver a 13.5. GXP should be like 14.5-14.1 stock
Mike Haggar There is high altitudes in Indiana dumbass look at Hoosier Hill at 1257 feet above sea level as well as many of Indiana’s cities. It’s not Colorado but still makes a difference fucking idiot

Also, not sure what year that one is, but in 2007 they had an LS4 and I typically associate LS engines to not be total slouches. Was it just shitty factory tuning? Now that I think about it, I typically only see those engines shine in after market builds.
@@ruthlessadmin its a different type of ls engine you could say. when they first came out with it it was low power compared to other ls motors. but the block is diff crank is diff and im pretty sure heads too. it was also detuned to not break the transmission as gm transmissions were and mostly still are weak now. so even a tune can wake them up but they were and are dogs. when those were cool and the v8 impala ss fwd from that year range i had a 3.1l v6 grand am that ate them alive. v8 camaro mustang you name it. most of the american cars at the time were gutless and with age or poor ownership even worse. even the vettes were pretty slow mid to high 13's. i literally have a single cylinder 70cc moped that i raced against those and won up to the speed limit. 65mph roads so it wasnt cheap shots. my daily would eat all of them for a snack and it was just supposed to be reliable. cars from the 80's and 90's here sucked mostly and the early 2000's were strange. i was born and raised on american cars are the good ones and i wont buy a new one. things have changed and id rather have a new honda or toyota at this point i guess. if its not a build of my own for another toy.

David Hoch GXP isn’t gonna edge out an 05-09 GT not from a dig or roll. GT weighs less and is better geared.
