  • Explore the profound impact of micronutrients on memory, creativity, and decision-making in this eye-opening video. Micronutrients, essential vitamins and minerals vital for optimal brain function, act as the grease lubricating the gears of our minds, facilitating communication between brain cells and supporting neurotransmitter production.
Micronutrient deficiencies, exemplified by conditions like Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome and pellagra, underscore their critical role in preserving cognitive function. Scientific research reveals that low levels of micronutrients such as zinc, vitamins B12, B6, and folate are linked to cognitive decline, emphasizing the importance of maintaining adequate intake.
Promising interventions, such as the VITACOG trial, demonstrate that addressing micronutrient deficiencies can slow brain shrinkage and mitigate cognitive decline in older adults. Emerging studies also highlight the neuroprotective effects of micronutrients like vitamin D in reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's.
Optimizing micronutrient intake through a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats is paramount for nurturing a resilient brain. While supplements may offer a convenient solution, whole foods remain the gold standard, providing additional trace elements vital for overall health.

... as a German Bio Chemist Ph D...
I grew up in Germany in the 1960´s
there was not a single Person sick.
    Not One.
The House Physician had to work hard
    to earn some money
    coming each Sunday afternoon
to look after our 2 Grand Ma`s
    who were NOT sick
    just Old...
There was no Medication in the house
    We had no Telephone
and there was no Emergency Medical Assistance.
    Nobody went to Elderly Care
    Nobody died in a Hosptial
Old Persons died of “Natural Causes”
    ...without any reason.
    What an era lost...

That is very interesting. Thank you for sharing that perspective with us. Do you think that had anything to do with the diet and lifestyle of that era? Do you have any data on the average life expectancy in Germany, at that time, compared to present day? Viewers may be interested to know those things. Thanks for watching.
