I just bought an Osmo Pocket last night as a bit of a impulse buy (Retail therapy to relieve my exam stress). I had pretty much decided I was going to get one when I was skiing in January. I got some excellent smooth footage with my GoPro Hero 3 & Zhiyun Smooth Gimbal combination, but found carrying it round and setting it up to be a lot of effort. The Osmo Pocket seemed like the perfect solution. After watching a review last night, I was worried I might have made a mistake; it essentially said the camera was very limited due to it being non-wide angle. However after you're watching your video I'm feeling reassured I made the right choice. I much prefer non-distorted image, and in my opinion the dynamic range of DJI camera is far superior to GoPro (I've got a Mavic air and the image quality is beautiful). I was intending the sell the GoPro, but I think I'm going to keep it for when I want to achieve that wide-angle look (and under water shots), but I think the Osmo Pocket will be my go-to camera 90% of the time. Sam Bellwood you’re absolutely right ! The non distorted image and the dynamic range are way better on the Osmo 👍 it was a pleasure to use it everyday .. I hope you will enjoy 😉
The Osmo pocket image looks surprising good at providing great colour (ski clothing etc) versus a lot of white. What settings did you typically use? I'm skiing in Val d'Isère in March and def going to buy one of these to take, looks much better than my GoPro 6 efforts! I also have a Mavic 2 Pro, did you encounter any objection with using them on the slopes in France? Might take that too...
TheVickersDoorter no problem to use the drone ;) just check French geoportail drone ! For the settings , that was the settings out of the box . Just 4k60p
@@rom1alexandre Thank you. Alas, Val d'Isère is a no fly area, as are most of the ski runs surrounding it. I guess this is because of rescue helicopters? Oh well, just the Osmo Pocket...
@@TheVickersDoorter I had a lot of trouble with my Mavic Air in Alpe d'huez in January. I was able to fly it in some parts of the resort, but not others. I looked on the DJI geo map and it did not appear to be a no fly zone. Some areas I was able to take off, but then it would auto land, some places I just got warnings, and then some places it wouldn't take off at all. I never really made any sense of it. Whenever I tried to fly it near the hotel it would take off, and then all of a sudden decide to give me 20 seconds before auto-landing. So my main concern was taking it off somewhere then flying it a few hundred meters away, and it deciding to autoland; so i was always flying it really close after that. Very disappointing as one of the main reasons I bought the drone was for that trip. How did you get on in Val d'isere?
Hey Super Vidéo ! Utilises tu des Lut ou mLut pour la couleur ? J’ai également un mavic pro et Osmo pocket avec des filtres CPL et ND mais je n’arrive pas à avoir ce rendu. Je suis sur Final Cut Pro et film en CineLike avec -3 d’exposition sur l’osmo pocket et Mavic Pro comme conseillé partout. Peut être aussi si tu as fait un Downscale ça peux joué, tu as exporté la vidéo est 1080p et filmé en 4K ? Pardon je me suis permis de vous tutoyez lol. En tout cas super vidéo 👍🏼👌🏼
Rastatik Reggae/Hip Hop tous tes réglages m’ont l’air nickel ;) j utilise à peu près les mêmes .. filtres idem .. je filme en 4K , et montage sur final cut aussi 😊 niveau lut oui j’en utilise , mais retouche toujours derrière car ça n’est jamais totalement adapté je trouve !

Thomas Brd this is the dolly zoom with the mavic 2 zoom . Also called vertigo effect . I use final cut ! 👍🙂

It's called a dolly zoom, where you zoom in while moving the camera (or drone) away from the object. Or vice versa (zooming out while moving closer)
