I hope they'll make a special tribute to The Original Master of The Hollywood Squares, the late & great Peter Marshall (R.I.P. Peter), on the first episode of the revival.
A remembrance was shot on the set. I didn’t realize the show was making a comeback. I couldn’t figure out how they built such a set just for the remembrance. I worked with his daughter ions ago and are friends on FB so I saw all the pictures. It has to be included in the show. It all makes sense, now.
CBS hasn't seen Hollywood Squares since Tom Bergeron and Henry Winkler, back when it ended 20 years ago. I sure hope one day Whoopi comes back in the Center Square, since that was one of the nostalgic ways I loved the show, when it aired with her, Caroline Rhea, Bruce Vilanch, and the late Gilbert Gottfried (YOU FOOL!). Rest in Peace, Gilbert, Martin Mull, and Peter Marshall.
@@ABCEasyas-- it was probably aired on that guy's CBS station at around 7:00 or 7:30, and yes as you mentioned, it was in syndication, which meant in one market it could be on an NBC station, and in another, it would be on an ABC one. Philadelphia, it was on KYW, which is CBS. In many other markets, it could even be on FOX, the three previously mentioned networks, or on an independent station.
You can still love it even though Peter passed away. When you love a TV show or any form of entertainment, you're keeping all these people alive. Us fans can grant immortality, LOL.
@@megamanj2004X I grew up with ALL versions of The Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall John Davidson and Tom Bergeron. The Davidson & Bergeron eras were okay. But the classic Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall will always be the best.

I fully agree with you, SIR. AT THE CLOSE OF THE FIRST: HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, NATE MUST SAY A FEW WORDS ABOUT: PETER MARSHALL, THE MASTER OF HS. HE TRULY WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW. Kenneth Huang. 11/22/24.
Hopefully, once the Hollywood Squares reboot proves to be successful, they could possibly get Tom Bergeron to make a guest appearance, despite the fact that nobody wants to work with him anymore.
Remember, the object of the game is to get three stars in a row, either across, up and down or diagonally. It is up to the contestant to decide if a star is giving the correct answer or making one up. That's how you get the square. A game is worth $200. We play a two out of three match for $400. And once a day we play the secret square.
I wonder if they’ll have puppets as panelists? They had Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Bear in the Big Blue House. Perhaps the Burleson version could have the Crank Yankers, but have their language toned down.
I agree with you, Nathan. Because for me, the Sesame Street cast and other celebrities will be joined with Drew Barrymore and Nate Burleson on a very special episode of Hollywood Squares, where junior contestants will compete for $25,000 in cash and prizes.
Today one of these stars is sitting in the secret square, and the contestant who picks it first could win a prize package worth over $2,700. Which star is it? Robert Fuller, Sandy Duncan, Buddy Hackett, Abby Dalton, Charlie Weaver, Karen Valentine, Wally Cox, Rose Marie or Paul Lynde? All in the Hollywood Squares. And here's the master of the Hollywood Squares, Peter Marshall.
This is why you can't take news people seriously anymore. How do you host morning network news and do a game show? News these days isn't anymore than entertainment. I don't watch the news for entertainment. I don't care what celebrities are doing. This is why I've given up on Network news. First I gave up on ABC then NBC and now CBS is just as bad.
I hope they'll make a special tribute to The Original Master of The Hollywood Squares, the late & great Peter Marshall (R.I.P. Peter), on the first episode of the revival.

The spiral staircases are a definite nod to the original series.

This actually doesn't look too bad. Very refreshing.

The Hollywood Squares...Hollywood Squares Hour?
Can’t wait. I do hope they do a tribute to Peter Marshall though. Now CBS needs to bring back Family Double Dare.
Instead of Slime they'll use Diddy Oil from the lawsuit lol
Family Double Dare was a Nickelodeon game show, NOT to be confused with the short-lived Double Dare from 1976-1977 on CBS.
Welcome back Hollywood Squares! Hope you don't forget to bring in some of the Muppets like you did when Tom Bergeron was host.

My 24th birthday gift.
I remember watching the Tom Bergeron version of Hollywood squares after school in the afternoon!
Me too!
Heck, I remember watching the John Davidson version first-run. They had Marc Summers on and played a Double Dare clip.

Paul Lynde, when a man fall off a boat they say man overboard. What do they say when a woman falls off a boat?

Always loved hollywood squares.
First Hollywood Squares I’ve seen in a while where Shadoe Stevens isn’t the announcer!!!
Yeah, Shadoe was awesome. The 80s version will always be the best to me for Shadoe, Davidson, and that AWESOME music it had.
This has been a Merrill Heatter/Bob Quigley Production.
In association with Orion Pictures and MGM. Stay tuned for Wheel of Fortune on most of these NBC stations.
LETS FRIKKKIN GOOOOOOO!
This looks great. Hopefully it doesn’t get overly vulgar like Family Feud has.
Or too over the top like Password.
Hope the host don't be tripping like Steve Harvey.
Hope that Melissa Peterman, who was in the 2004 finale, comes to this show.
So this is a mix of Tom and Peter or Just Peter's version? I Like it regardless
Let's hope it doesn't have the difficult Big Money bonus round from 2001. Just the simple Pick a Star format from 1998.
I'd love to see Ken Jeong show up on Hollywood Squares next. He seems like he'd fit well into it!
