  • Lychee trees are easy to grow from seed. Although it may take several years for the tree to bear fruit in warm, tropical climates, you will have a large shade tree that will bear the sweet, red, snackable fruit. Check out this video to find out how to grow fresh lychee seeds!
    If you want to learn more about the lychee fruit and when and where to buy it in stores, check out my video, What is Lychee: • What are lychees (Fruit)?
    Disclaimer: These lychee seeds are being grown in hardiness zone 8b, which is cooler than ideal standards for growing lychee trees. These are grown for fun. Results may vary.

    This looks so easy, if it is then there should be much more lychee production?! I tried once 5 years ago, will try again. But they do need a cool period in the year too, so straight tropical climate is not good? They do well in Mauritius though, and thats tropical..

    Hi, my Lychee looks like in one of your video 3 weeks old in the shade, but mine smaller, i actually put it on backyard, which have direct sunlight, and i live in tropical country, Indonesia, which is hot, but i admit there is a little roof, just little but i dont think it covered my plant, or should i move it to the middle back yard without any roof on the top? will it or is it not too late to make it turned greenish and healthy? Thank you

    • @ericlarson3597
      @ericlarson3597 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What's going on specifically? Could be anything from disease to nutrient deficiency. If the leaves are turning colors other than green like yellow it could indicate nutrient deficiencies. In which case you should apply fertilizer

      Yes you can all you need to do is keep them in partially shaded area or indirect sunlight! Make sure to protect them from winter/ frost they can't tolerate frost but they just seems to do fine in summer

    For how long can I store the seeds in water before planting?

    • @skullrose8985
      @skullrose8985 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From what I have researched & read & I haven't looked into it to deep but basically you cannot let the seed dry out,that's why I stored mine in water & I had to change the water,also if you keep your seeds in water they will start to grow(which I found out while I was keeping mine😅😅)..but apparently you cannot let them dry out,I'm in England..I have got to do more reasearch..but mine have rooted really quick,I done the damp tissue in a zip lock bag & placed inbetween my laundry,two weeks later they have sprouted roots,and more than one root,I think I can see the leaves sprouting out,or where the leaves are going to be(the bottom of the leaf)..shame I can't share a pictures..I have got into growing veg,now I do flowers aswell,but I love experimenting..I have got an Avacado growing aswell..
      Goodluck & take care ✌🏼☮✌🏼☮

      I wouldn’t chill the seeds at all. It would be best if you left them in water at room temperature.
      If you cannot plant them in soil, you could start them in a plastic bag. Wrap the seeds in a damp paper towel or napkin and put the bag in a warm location. You can transfer the seeds into the soil after they sprout.
