If you read the lyrics he's just saying how easy it is to write a cliche country hook and it's not even challenging for him to make a #1 hit. So, he's throwing it in the face of Nashville. I can write a chorus so perfect but it's just a joke. It's ironic. Sarcasm. The album has 17 songs. 1-8 are lower case, and they are country songs (mockingbird) and songs 10-17 are uppercase, and they are rock songs (THE CROW). Song 9, exactly in the middle of the album, is the song "the mockingbird & THE CROW". This song starts country and almost exactly halfway through the song it switches to rock. That's the end of the country half of the album. Next 8 and a half songs are rock. I say all of this because... this album is pure fucking genius. Not only is it good, but it is a personal statement about who he is and wants to be and a fuck you to the labels that try and change him. Too many good artists don't have the clout to get away with pulling this off. It's like the Beatles changing from doo wop in the 50s to psychedelic rock in the 60s. Like the Beatles dropping helter skelter. Listen to the whole album.
