- As I turned the corner to go into the Christmas section, there she was, just sitting on the shelf! I can't believe she was at Goodwill! Probably from the 50's, a chalkware piece, most likely won as a Fairground grand prize.... she may fetch up to $200 in the resale market!! Thrift with me and find out exactly what she is.......
Hello Everyone! Its Tiffany with Thrifting Vegas. I shop at thrift stores, estate sales, garage sales and discount stores for items I can resell for a profit on online platforms like eBay, Poshmark and Offer-Up.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous... the end of March and in the mid seventies with blue cloudless skies... who cold ask for more? Its Tuesday and I did so well last time at opening time, I arrived at my favorite Goodwill at 10am again and I'm so glad I did! Again, the store became busier and busier as I shopped, but my Thrifting Vegas blanket came in handy as I filled my cart with lots of amazing treasures. Thrift with me and learn what to bolo and what to leave on the shelf and why. I found a gorgeous pottery footed tray, a glass bedside carafe set, a Moriage Satsuma mini vase, a dragon planter, an angel themed hummingbird bird house, a veeery scary Russ Berrie dentist figurine, two pieces of Carnival Glass and, of course, the Minnie Mouse bank probably dating from the 1950's!! I even found some of the Dog Relaxation Chairs that John @ResaleRabbit recommended for local resale on his recent vacation to Las Vegas. When I shop Goodwill now, I say “Let’s go thrifting!” to myself before I go in, and I smile when I get to the “kitcheny bits.” I’m such a fan!

Lots of negativity around Disney lately, especially today 4 1 22...so knowing how loved Wat Disney was...The backlash will not affect Mickey, and crew, but it might hurt more current Disney characters.
One time at the dentist, I wore all black, including nail polish, and joked with my dentist about the outfit. LOL...Still, I would have nabbed that statue! I am attracted to statues, and busts. I have a bust of David in my living room, and another bust of a grecian woman on a table. And I have several smaller figures, and framed pieces of art depicting someone reading, as I adore books. I get so much joy in these pieces. I wish our Goodwill was as classy as yours, but...I must find one that is!
I love the fact that you picked up the bag and hat and returned them to their proper places. That is the hallmark of a good customer, one who doesn't think to themselves, "I don't work here." Instead, your first thought was, " . . . so someone doesn't run their cart over them." What a gracious woman you are and what a great example for the rest of us. PEACE
When I go to the store I catch myself straight if up the shelves. My husband reminds me I don’t work there. I guess it was years working stock at the grocery store and Dollar Tree lol.
@@christinainmichigan6726 LOL 😂 I worked in retail for 30 years and I got the same EX reply from my ex every time I went into a store I was doing the same thing after I left and retired from my job. It is a Habit that is stored in that won’t leave us.
The little metal box is a vintage stamp box. They list starting around 45.00 on line.
The metal box marked China looks like a box meant to hold postage stamps.
My great grandmother had an ivory one.
I love that piece.
Actually, if you use a butter knife, you can slip the tip of the knife into the bank, balance some coins on the blade and the coins slide right out. I was a resourceful child, haha!

When my husband and I bought our first house, he made me a metal bank. The guys at the place he worked as an electrician welded it for him. We put quarters in it, and I created the butterknife theif!! LOL I got a butter knife, or table knife as it is also named, and I tried to nab a quarter. You have to use your brain, hand and tongue curl, to manage to get the quarter on the knife blade without letting it slip off. LOL Such fun, and I LOVE a challenge. We hit that bank many times, and now I don't remember what happened to it, and if we gave it to our frugal daughter, or our son, who, at ten years old, had his newspaper delivery money spent before he got paid. Such wonderful memories.

That sweet little rabbit at the beginning is a cotton ball keeper..the cotton sticks out of the hole in the back..to make its tail ,those are so fun !

Pretty things today - quite a few that sort of took my temperature do perhaps it’s a good thing I was so late watching! I’m sure they were all scooped up right away. My favorites this time were the bedside carafe, the carp or catfish, and the art pottery piece. I especially liked the ceramic trivet and coaster set and the little metal box with the gems on the outside, too. But it’s all beautiful!
The handsome Bandit and the regal Bear steal the show, as always. I wanted to lean over and give sweet Bear a kiss on the top of his sleepy head! But I planted one on my Kirby’s head, instead, and he was happy to receive it on behalf of your furry boys.

I always pick up abalone shells in good condition. They are commonly used for burning sage in the home 🤩

Abalone shells sell well for display and for jewelry makers. I sold a shell that size for $22.00. 👍🏻

The gray metal box with semi precious stones, marked made in China, is for postage stamps. It might have been part of a desk set! I have one in silver which was made in the 1920s.

My grandmother had a small brass box like the one you found for stamps.(I still have it) Stamps came on perforated sheets which you cut apart for the box. Licking type of stamps. I'm older so this was how we did it. Now the new no lick stamps are old style! : )
