    Looks like construction moving forward slowly but surely. Plenty of little children help for sure🙂. Keep the update coming.

      Yeah, it's moving forward. Feels like it takes forever, but looking at the videos we can see that things are actually happening!

    Nice view for sure! Maybe worth buying a decent mic, some of the talking was a challenge to understand. :)

      Oh yeah? Sorry, we are looking at it, just need to find an affordable option. I think it was a bit too windy, usually it's much better.

    Hello, Nice house but I'm wondering why the house has so few and so small windows on the right and left side? With all those stunning views, I would imagine you would want to have large windows or perhaps even large sliding doors in all sides of the house except for the back, of course, since it's facing upwards. Also, Aren't you worried about potential landslide from the back side of your house? It seems that you have a big hill behind you and it looks like clay or dirt. That may be an issue in the future. I hope I'm wrong about that ;-) Other than that, your really have beautiful views. I've been to Bukidnon once and I have to admit, the views are breathtaking. But as one gets older, climbing those hills may be an issue so I guess you have to keep in good shape ;-)

      Hi, thank you!
      I will drive up the road eventually. Right now it's mostly standard practice why we don't. I do want the top cleared a bit, and widened. But also good to get the exercise!
      The lack of windows is because this is phase one of the build, just the bedroom and bathroom. I don't want a window towards the only neighbor we have/over our bed. Then there's the sliding door and cr walls. Last wall will eventually become our hallway, and the only place to have a window will be our closet.
      As for all glass etc... I think I'm already pushing my luck with the sliding door/the quality of available builders. But we will try to either glass in the patio and/or have as much glass as possible in the living room.
      Oh, and the back hill doesn't concern me too much. We'll get around to it, but it's been the same for about 6 months and no issues. The idea is to dig out three terraces, 1m/1m vertical/horizontal with fruit trees and similar planted there. But the soil is solid (hasn't been disturbed).

      @@ABetterLifePH Thanks for your response! I see your point about no side windows. Well, I wish you best in your home build. You'll have a beautiful house with breathtaking views.Keep up to good work!

    Very confusing for subscribers being that bebinka storm was in September and the Philippines is now expierencing typhoon Kristine.

    I think you are overly trusting to have the plumbing done by a Filipino "contractor". I don't see any venting for the 2" drains - should have one per 5' of run.... good luck with that.
    Also, make sure they cover the pipe so no rocks or cement "accidentally" gets put in.

    • @ABetterLifePH
      @ABetterLifePH  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think you are very correct. We do have a vent, but that's about the only thing done semi-proper. Having to re-do everything is pretty annoying, but it was a learning process. We'll have things fixed over time.

      @@ABetterLifePH over time?
      doing it correctly to begin with saves a LOT of time, labor and money.
      Take it from a person who learned the lesson the hard, expensive and frustrating way.
      Especially with plumbing - unless you like exposed pipes, do it correctly before cement work.

    • @ABetterLifePH
      @ABetterLifePH  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, that's a bit of the issue - knowing how to do it correctly when starting from scratch, in a new country, in a developing country, in the province, on a budget...etc.
      We have very little in the walls, although more than I wanted. We'll do what we can to make sure there are no leaks, but if we have to open up the walls...so be it, won't be the first or last time. Easy and fast concrete work luckily. The floor would be worse, but hopefully we won't have to re-do that too.
