First, your story is very real and yes, it has real pain. You said you are no longer swimming in it but paddling in it. Keep believing in growing stronger mentally and emotionally. Grow wise. You are right, everybody has a story. I know I do. If you find a good counselor, consider getting some help. As we get older, the child inside of us also has to heal. Otherwise, we will have clashes as adults. The pains of our childhood intersects with our adult lives. The family racism you experienced happens to a lot of people. This is not meant to minimize what you went through. It has its complicated history, very few really understand where it came from or how come it is or was like that. With each day, believe in the power of healing. I didn't have the best or the worst childhood is something I have to tell myself. This is after some years of dealing with my own family pains. I had to learn to paddle out of it and get on the land. It is a difficult transition but what will make it an easier one is when you decide to transition from the emotional pains to healing. Much of what you said, hit home for me. Look at like a complicated puzzle and piece together the pieces from a new life forward. We cannot change the past. The past will probably always be a memory but it doesn't have to be a continuous painful one. It is your hurt & story. When you are ready to heal only you can decide when.
Be strong brother and grow wise.
This was such a powerful video to watch. You are so brave and strong. Keep pushing forward. In my eyes and thousands of others you are a true war hero. The guilt of you not being able to do anything is holding you back from seeing that you comforted him you made him feel safe and helped give him relief knowing his family would know he loved them. No one but you will ever understand how you feel and I’m sure that makes things so much harder to cope. You deserve peace from your mind and I pray you find it.

I know what he means when he said his eyes went matte my grand mother and I were spending time together sitting on the couch and laughing and all of a sudden she gasped and fell to the ground i then started doing cpr on her and with compression I felt her ribs breaking and I watched the life in her eyes slowly fade away

Great story . His real heroism came in not pulling the revolver trigger and then agin once he found his way to school. Comment to editor...way too much background music and vocals overlay. There's nothing wrong with you. You have PTS not PTSD. You experienced a lot of stress and events that triggered very deep and intense emotions. However, it is not a disorder. Like he said sh×t happens to everyone . It's all about if we can keep it together and process and accept it.
