SHOT Show 2024: Getting into the Engineering behind the NEW MR920P and XR920P pistols

- Trevor and Ben get into all of the engineering that went into the newly released MR920P and XR920P compensated pistols. MR920P and XR920P both use the tri-lug quick detach method you may be familiar with from our CR920P.
XR920P and MR920P both fit G17 holsters. The length of the built in compensator on these pistols is the same length as a threaded barrel on the non-comped versions of the MR920 or XR920, making this one of the smallest 9mm compensators in the market with quick detach functionality.
The compensator attachment method for MR920P and XR920P is now TOOL-LESS!

Very cool, but major bummer if you don't sell a barrel + comp combo for folks to modify their existing purchases with you guys.

This particular comp won't fit as flush against a standard MR920 slide. Due to the standard slide having chamfers. The XR920P and MR920P Slides don't have chamfers on the front.
Has anyone seen that video of one of their pistols blow up in his hand? Now, I’m discouraged on buying one . 😢
Want one for my still yet to be shot DP 920 got it last summer for over $100 less SRP now just need the STATE OF PRICK TO GO FREE AGAIN then I will get a BARREL and this new COMP if it less then $350
This looks nice, specially for concealed carry. Any chance of offering an upgrade for existing MR920 with something similar to this?
Probably not as they did with the cr920p they made the comp fit the end of the slide as if it was the end of the slide itself so the slides for the non comps guns are milled differently on the barrel end of the slide
The Radian Ramjet and Afterburner combo are the same style. Only difference, they use a set screw.

FINALLY!..i’ve been asking about a MR920P for quite some time, got impatient and purchased the thread-on comp; no goin back now.. it’s a phenomenal upgrade; wouldn’t trade it for anything; grateful for what you guys are doing

Bro yall need to sell this separately for all the mr920 owners that want to use a comp. Its so hard to buy a quality comp. Id love to have this on my elite
Would Shadow Systems ever consider making a CR920 with longer grip to make reloads easier? For example CR920X like it's cousin?

A tri-lug quick detach suppressor so you can switch out between the compensator and the suppressor would = perfection
We have tested that and have decided that for now we will stick with the threaded version.

Would love to put this on my XR920 elite with thread on comp that I just bought August of last year…hoping they make it an attachment as well.

I actually wish they'd move the slide back and add the comp, keeping the MR920 the same compact length.
Just cant get behind a compensated CCW. Someone runs up on your car window and you have to fire cross body all that compensator blast is going in your face... Other than that I think the design is great and seems to continue to improve. I may end up picking out up and just remove the comp as needed, its certainly been made easy enough.
Use that brain to give us what we WANT. Make a 43x size frame damn it.

Dangit! I need to buy an MR920P. I got the shadow systems thread on comp for my MR920. The MR920P comp is so much smaller.
I own a CR929 elite, CR920P, MR920 with a shadow thread on comp.
Just take my money. I have to have the MR920P.
The extra .5” from the threaded MR920 doesn’t give enough benefit. I might have to dump the MR920 with the shadow thread on comp to buy the MR920P.
The shadow comps make a WORLD of difference.
These are awesome. Can't want to check them out. I have a CR920P and love it. Trevor and Ben can you please create an extension for the CR mags that increases the full grip like the +3 round extension you have, but without increasing capacity for us people thar live in restricted states? The pinky extension is ok, but it would be nice to have the full grip extension. I'm sure they would sell.
I just bought an MR920 Foundation. Will this barrel and comp be available and compatible as an upgrade, down the road? If so, can you ballpark the timeline and price?

Love shadow, it’s what I replaced my pistols with but the “YOU CAN ONLY HAVE THIS IF YOU BUY ANOTHER WHOLE PISTOL”…. Sucks.
If ya’ll want that slim comp..PMM & the Radian Afterburner is your go to.
Then again we’ll see maybe this feedback will make them make it as a separate accessory as well 🤷🏻♂️.
You should sell a barrel and micro comp drop in combo for the DR320 elite. I would buy it 🔥

I'm not a gunsmith or an engineer, but it looks to me that the slide of the new P model is dimensionally different at the muzzle end from the existing MR/XR920 slides. That, and it looks like a different recoil spring/guide rod. This would suggest that a simple barrel and comp purchase would not be compatible w/ an existing MR/XR. Looks to me that it'd require the purchase of an entirely new top end to work on your existing MR/XR frame.

How does the new MR920P shoot compared to the MR920L? Any noticeable differences in recoil? I'm debating either getting the MR920L now or waiting for the MR920P.

What parts in total would need to be swapped if I wanted to run a threaded bbl for working with the forbidden pickle? Does the modified guide rod mean i need a recoil assembly and barrel?

Awesome Tech, but unfortunately Shadow Systems would not sell a "barrel + comp combo" to upgrade existing model. This is not enough for me to buy a new MR920P to replace the older MR920 with threaded barrel. It's more cost effective to just buy a Comp for it........

So when we run our comped MR920 slide on our DR920 frame, is it's flush fit? Similar to a P320 frame flush comp?
