Been waiting for this video for 3 months. Thanks 🙏🏽!!
More to come!
Super excited for you guys to get that mapping dialed in for the GET ECU. Can’t wait to add that on.
Well done Mike Great video partly great bike too
Perfect bike
I moved my blinker indicator up into that blank. So I could actually see it while I was riding. Looks like you have the same burr on your aluminum stay as I did. That got your finger too. Did you notice that it looks like they over drilled the holes for the screws to hold the exhaust onto the head. So now there’s an open hole for dirt and stuff to get into the backside. Have you figured out the front LED blinker set up since it doesn’t have the LED blinker relay? Also would be good to say that the airbox is redesigned so you can’t use previous generation air box and it’s a different filter design.
Favorite part of the video. And here is a spider in that little hole.. What’s up dude… haha *Then proceeds to spill out knowledge
Thanks as always Mike for educating us all so thoroughly!
He stayed up there the entire time, happy to be on camera I guess 😎
Awesome video
Thanks!
Just over 15k here in Alaska 😭. Crazy that a new 450SXF is 4k less.
I hear the 350-500 transmission engine cases are different than the last few years, I just wonder if the gearbox ratios are the same? Reason I ask is because I have a 2022 KTM 500 EXC-F 6DAYS.
I’ll just stick with my 15’.
Seriously ticks me off they don't do the map or quick shifter on NA bikes, wish we could enliven those post purchase 😢
The "dummy" is where the low oil light is on the 2-stroke bikes
Good info, thanks 👌🏽
Is this model price wise, worth it over the regular model?
Good looking bike! I'm sure at some point we should be able to get the mapping for this bike.
I brought I uk model has maps tc and qs
Got one in my garage at home. Patiently waiting for your new drops on this awesome bike! (Or at least I'm trying to be patient lol!)
So your bike does not have Maps, TC, or quick shifter??
@@motourstinc.6408 nope, pretty pissed about it tbh. I got the 6 days and it has the map switch just like the bike in the video but it's just fully illuminated and none of the buttons do anything. I don't even really care about the maps because I mean stock maps anyway and KTM said when I called them it's because of it being a plated bike and because of DOT stuff they can't have something on the bike that changes the running conditions of the bike but I don't know why that means TC and QS don't work. Especially considering 1 of the major 6 days upsell reasons (for me at least) was the map switch with TC and QS. Everywhere I looked prior to buying the bike it was advertised. I didn't realize none of it worked until I was on my ride home from the dealer. It sure seems a little "false or misleading" advertising.
@@matthewhaworth5935man sorry to hear that. I know that TacoMoto will sort it out, but it’s a crappy feeling for sure. All the California bikes are getting recalled from the dealers right now, so we are in a holding pattern. Did you say the map switch is illuminated?? So cool. Would be ideal to use that with GET!
@@motourstinc.6408 oh wow that's a bummer. Do you know what the reason is for the recall? Yeah it's a nice switch, would be awesome to reuse it with the GET but I also like the dial knob for TC with the GET so you actually have granular control rather than just on off so we'll see. It has a green and white light to correspond to the 2 map settings, and then an illuminated TC and QS icon with 2 small buttons on the underside. They are supposed to illuminate to let you know what is selected/on but on my bike they are all lit up and pressing buttons does nothing, they just stay lit up.
I was prepared to buy this bike tomorrow after viewing it at a dealer last week. This has me ready to wait
Cool video Mike! Nice bike! Thanks!
What are your thoughts about service intervals - how often should the oil and filters be changed?
We have an owners manual break down video in the works that will answer that one
Will the NA Husqvarna Pro bikes come with the quick shifter/map selector or is that a euro version only? Because I’m thinking about trying to get the 2024 Husqvarna te300 Pro to go alongside my 21’ Husky fe350s. I also want to scoop up a GET ecu and endcap for the fe350s.
If they’re released as a competition bike yes
Need to find a review of the Euro version now.
*Edit* We do get all the stuff that's left out on US bikes for some reason. Traction control, maps, quickshifter.
The EPA neuters our bikes. They are also the only machine to get sound tested also.
Our bike in Oz come with most of the emissions stuff like vapour recovery and O2 sensor. The dealer rips it all out prior to delivery as we don't have to run it here. The unrestricted map is applied too.
Holly crap a kick stand that might hold up for a few rides and a wiring harness actually looks somewhat organized! Super tempted to pull the trigger on one of these. Why no maps for North America? Font light plastics will get decimated. So it mounts by bolt?
US DOT homologation has not approved it
I gotta ask what do people mean by no map I’m looking into getting one of these and I just gotta know what everyone means by that
That steering lock must be a NA thing. We don't have that on our bikes.
What is that at 2:08??? You didn't link a video in the description. Whatever that apparatus is it seems like it could get damaged very easily. Can it be removed?
None of that plumbing is on our bikes here. It must be an American emissions thing. Surely it would get shredded on the first drop.
Is there any chance of reusing the stock map switch with the GET or other afternarket ECUs? And how about the QS function? Any chance an aftetmarket ECU can enable that?
We’re currently testing the Taco SX1 GET on this bike and map switch and quick shift functions will be a part of the package 🏁🤘🏽🏁
@@TACOMOTOCO Awesome, can't wait 👍🏻
Thank goodness!!!@@TACOMOTOCO
Sat on this bike at the dealership, and it sits higher than the Husqvarna FE501S. It's too tall for me at 5'9. Beautiful bike, but I am going with the Husqvarna because of the seat height alone. I know you can lower them, but I can't stomach dropping 15Gs and having to drop more cash to lower the suspension.
Well if you’re not in the weight range of factory springs then she’ll put another 300 for springs no matter what bike you get or what it costs
@@ianjohnson5365 I check that box, just a little short for the bike.
Husqvarna use plastic rear frame(composite). Not sure it's a good thing.
@@Roger_Gustafsson They changed it in 2024. It's aluminum and composite now.
yes that sucker is tall! im 6'2" and cannot flat foot the exc. The Husky by comparison is the same height as my 21 450SXF and i can flat foot that no issues. The other enduro I sat on was the 300xcw and it was tall. Last years model (2023 300xcw) was not as tall. Maybe its a matter of break in and setting sag on the PDS?
With the new design steering lock will a steering damper post still wrap around the steering head?
You remove the flange with the lock and install the usual Ohlins w/damper mount. It takes bout 50minutes to swap it out.
Wait so they put the map switch on the bike but it does nothing for NA bikes? I called my dealer i got it from and they asked me to bring it back in so they could look at it but the dealer i got it from is about 2 hours away from me so I've been trying to find some time to get it back to them. The map switch is just fully illuminated and none of the buttons do anything. My small oil screen was also missing.
The switch is being powered but the ecu isn’t processing the signal in the software, this only applies to North America
Yep...same thing on my brand new 2024...took it in for a warranty repair expecting it to get fixed, but dealership removed it all together.
So did my shop do something different to my bike? I have this exact bike and had a fmf pipe put on, my map switch works, quick shift and traction control both work as well? Based in Indiana.
And also purchased the tidy tail from you two weeks ago, works perfect. Now I gotta get that mirror relocate bracket!
The 23 tail tidy works? Did you need to modify or anything? I can't wait to get that ugly ass tail off mine.
I'd love to know what your dealer did to make your map switch and other functions work. Mine does nothing I called my dealer they asked me to bring it back in and I'm just trying to find the time to get it back to them. I'm gonna be pretty pissed off if I drive 2 hours and they just say nope sorry KTM is advertising this bike with those functions but nope sorry.
@@matthewhaworth5935 yup works perfectly! Literally got the bike home and that night was yanking that crap off. I bought the enduro plate too but haven’t installed it yet still have the paper tag and just zip tied it through the little hole on the backend.
Only thing I didn’t buy cause I thought it came in the kit was the enduro flasher. Other then that kits awesome, they have a couple TH-cam videos to show how to install it but with the 2024 it is slightly different so just take your time
@@xBobby Awesome thanks for the info. Are you talking about the led blinker module of the tail light flasher module?
@@matthewhaworth5935 the tail light flasher, supposed to make your tail light flash a certain pattern then hold solid
Cool vid. Will be interesting to see if the oil drain bolt under the engine has the small screen attached to it. Have been reading that it's missing on several 24 bikes even though it's in the manual.
Mine was missing
I was like what the hell that’s not right.
Mine was missing also.
I had to dump my oil drain pan and literally go fishing through it because I thought it must have fallen when I removed the bolt. Nope. Definitely was missing. Same bike as in this video. 500 six days.
Dude that is such a strange issue ktm has these small oversights all the time like plastic plastic oil pump gears smh. It truly is a love hate relationship I have with my 500 😂 they require a lot of time and money and need maintenance regularly 😔 but I love the way they ride and feel and the way they look 🔥 I just wish my wallet wasn’t so mad at me! 🤣
So does the EU bikes get map switch, quick shift, traction control etc?
Likely yes
@@TACOMOTOCOinteresting. So if I get the taco get ECU for my 24 eu bike will there be any compatibility issues? Bearing in mind my 20 EU 500 has your ECU in it and runs perfect. Just curious about the MS,QS and TC features mostly
I put down a deposit for one of these with my dealer in northern CA and I've been waiting. My dealer says the CARB has not cetified the EXC models for CA use. Bummer, I hope I don't have to wait too long, anybody else waiting?
This is cleared up now. I’m also in CA and picked one up yesterday.
Why does it need CARB approval if it's plated?
Hi, how often should the oil and filters be changed?
10mth
@@zawas_500 mth do you mean months or hours
@@Not_thekill of course motohours
What are your thoughts on the claim of 64hp? Seems like a huge jump from the 2023 that has 41ish horsepower
I suspect the 64hp relates to the euro version that's not bogged down with emissions and noise stuff. It likely has a tune that allows for this. I hope so anyway, as mine arrives later this month. But 64 might be a little aspirational regardless…
In the US this bike makes aprox 37 HP at the wheel. After our modifications we have it up to 56 or so, at the wheel
@@TACOMOTOCOhow does that compare to the 2023? I’ll be ordering a GET ecu and traction control from you for my 2023 500 exc next Friday
@@Oregon86Silverado_12v nearly identical power between the 20-23 bikes and this 24
So no map switching for NA models??? That was a highly anticipated feature…
We were just as eager for it as you were
And here in Australia the bikes are somewhat delayed due to a shortage of map switches that are on NA bikes...
Any insight into that decision?
I just got off the phone with KTMs US customer service and they confirmed that the map switch indeed does nothing even on the six days that it comes standard on because of the DOT stuff which really sucks. Don't know why they cant at least have the TC and QS work... kinda lame since that was a big part of why I spent extra on the six days. Also they confirmed the new motor is NOT supposed to have a small oil screen in the underside oil bung even though there is still a drain bolt and it mentions it in the manual. Hopefully this can save someone else the headache of thinking they have an issue if they read this.
This is very helpful and important info. Thanks so much 🤘🏽
Thanks for the info. Wild to not put the screen there it would obviously help catch metal shavings and debris and to not give us access to the quick shifter functionality is crazy that’s a huge let down
So stupid KTM fucked the USA on the map switch again. Even in the USA user manual it tells you how to use the map switch. KTM may want to edit their website and all the press releases on the USA release.
Hey guys, anyone have experience with riding these bikes on highway??, getting bored of my Harley. I used to ride sport bikes 600cc & 1k … also used to own drz 400 sm, thanks in advance guys
Wind will beat u up and will chew through tyres.
How do you think this 2024 gen will handle on highway? @tacomotoco
Great in our experience so far
No quick shifter?
As indicated in the video
@@TACOMOTOCO kind of a bummer, but probably better off without it 👍🏼
WTF , no WiFi, no map switch, no ktm app, no traction control, no abs, no quick shifter. No problem! 😉 Why would they promise this stuff and then go back and say ya.. now it's not when but no never.
That air filter looks dry. It may not be, but it looks like it's dried out.
It’s got 0 hours on it, factory fresh - better be in spec, right
The tidy tail is the ONLY option for these machines. I just cannot believe KTM keeps using that pathetic license plate/ turn signal set up.
thanks a pile!
Thank the US DOT for the ugly motorcycle tails; required by law.
Bro just connect the map switch and it will work 😂😂
No it does not. You buy an Athena SX1 Pro Grey box ecu and use that handlebar switch and all the options and more are there.
So just an overpriced trail bike with no street perks.
This is a 50 states street legal machine
