As an older Jeep owner (LJ), I usually curse the torx bolts. But in this case I like the use of them on the hinge studs. A much cleaner look other than ordinary nuts.
I love the video & love the new jeep. However when you had your hand between the door & the body to put the door on I physically cringed. Had my hand pinched in a car door one too many times 😂

I love the look of the half doors! So if you get the half doors on a Sport, do you automatically get power locks and windows? If so, does that also include keyless entry? (Not proximity, just the clicker) If so that makes the price of them feel like a bit of a bargain on the sport.

I’ve got half doors with hard uppers on my jk and other than the obstruction of the side view mirrors and the small military sliding window styling I’ll never want full doors on a Jeep again. They’re awesome!
Yup, we definitely try to drive all of them on a regular basis especially from spring to fall. In the winter, we keep the old iron in the garage as much as possible to keep them nice. As far as how to decide goes, it just depends on what we drove last or in the case of Rusty, our J2000, if we need something from the hardware store. :)
Not sure if you are aware but when you remove your full doors there is a nice carrying hand hold. From the outside of the door put your arm through the window a grab under the arm rest. Perfect hand hold to lift and carry the door from.

Half door really cool looking and fun I have it on my 01 tj and much cooler and functional and safety than the tubular on my two other wranglers. Would love to get a set for my 18 JLR but it might cost an arm and a leg lol.
I tried to buy them at time of purchase for my jeep and have them installed with all the other gear. Dealer would not sell them or install them. Guess that why you so rarely see them on newer models.
I have to say you have some of the nicest produced videos. I suspect this channel will get more views as time goes on and people start to recognize the quality of both the content and production value of your videos. I did have some questions about the half doors for you. I ordered a 2 door rubicon in hydro blue and was considering the half doors. The gentleman at the dealership has told me that he's not impressed with the half doors. Said the color didn't match (which could have just been a one off error in manufacturing) and that the grab handle was in a bad spot and needed more slack to grab it easily. It looks to me like the grab handle looks identical to the full door handles both inside and out. Have you noticed any of these issues, or other issues with the half doors since you've installed them? Also, I'm assuming that the doors still lock and unlock with the key fob. If I'm wrong on this, please let me know. Thanks!

About the only time you need to use the hinge bolts.Who puts them back on with their full doors.I can see using them with a light doors like half doors. I hate you youtube guys always costing me money even though i like my tube doors for my jk but those id never have to remove the full doors again.
As a 2 door owner I've never cared for the shape of the cargo area roll bar. I wish it was shaped like the 4 door model. Regardless, those factory doors are REALLY nice!

I'm one who prefers the half doors only and don't even want the full doors or hardtop. They should make them standard with upgrade to full doors as an option if you order a hardtop, like the good old days. My 89 YJ based model which i bought brand new for $8999+$250 rear bench+$800 dealer installed AC... And back then the half doors didn't even have door locks until following year in 1990. Now days they bundle tons of stuff i don't really want, which only raises the prices. Anyway, I'm happy to see this vid
The struggle is real my friend. Cindy and I went though the same frustration when ordering this Jeep but in the end, we decided that we really wanted half doors and when you roll it into the financing, it's negligible. I ordered a set of the premium uppers from my mopar store. the uppers showed up but there is no rubber seal on the premium uppers. Can you help me with what the part numbers are and where to get the upper rubber seals. I was deff disappointed the rubber seals were not included and installed on the premium uppers. any help would be great I love your videos

At least for now, our plan is to keep it as stockish as possible. We'll make mods but will try to make them budget mods, used parts or based out of necessity. The other Jeeps we have, you know we've got to keep playing with them! This is just a project to show what else can be done.
I love the fact that you always torque fasteners to factory specs! I’m the same way, what i want to know is what’s your go to for torque spec’s? Have you made up a cheat sheet? Or is one available? Owners manual? Shop Service manual? Thanks!
Bought a 2020 JL, I’m disappointed in the door options for the JL. Bestop’s soft doors aren’t as good as years past. And there are no decent alternatives from what I’ve found. Maybe need to find someone who can 3D print a light, compact and effective door that’s easy to remove on whim yet still protects from rain.
Can't get a straight answer from anyone as to when these will be available for purchase outside of a package option of a new Jeep. I have a 2019 Rubicon I'd love to buy these for when off-roading.
I love my two door. Drive it stagecoach all year. Have a "back window" right behind front seat and no back seat. Some "different" things are nice others I don't get. Those doors I don't get. Hey but that is what makes a jeep. Drive it like you like it. KEEP JEEPING!

You can only order half doors when ordering a new Jeep. That said, these doors will fit on a 2019 if you can find a used set.

I would think your best bet would be to talk to your parts department at your local dealership.

Bought a 2020 JL, I’m disappointed in the door options for the JL. Bestop’s soft doors aren’t as good as years past. And there are no decent alternatives from what I’ve found. Maybe need to find someone who can 3D print a light, compact and effective door that’s easy to remove on whim yet still protects from rain.
It is frustrating that so few companies are developing products that people really want these days.
Can't get a straight answer from anyone as to when these will be available for purchase outside of a package option of a new Jeep. I have a 2019 Rubicon I'd love to buy these for when off-roading.
Currently, you can ONLY buy these doors on a new Jeep and ONLY with a dual door group package.
I love my two door. Drive it stagecoach all year. Have a "back window" right behind front seat and no back seat. Some "different" things are nice others I don't get. Those doors I don't get. Hey but that is what makes a jeep. Drive it like you like it. KEEP JEEPING!
