I had no idea there were rakes/baskets for this! I was just told to get in the water, shove your hands into the mud, and pull up dinner or you don't eat lol. I could just feel the difference between rocks and clams, especially when they started to wriggle away. I would have loved to have tools like this!
Happy to see you guys in my neck of the woods. Next time you come up try spearfishing for stripers and black fish at Block Island , RI 🌴. You guys will love it
If you want to try a chowder. You need to locate sea clams. They are about the size of 4 quahog clams together and weight around 4 lbs. each. You use only the tongue of the clam. Being so big you do not need that many to make a chowder. Commercially they use the sea clams for clam strips in the restaurants.
These clams were like just right there. You know when persons cook over the video we on the other end can wonder does it really taste nice well no need to guess the table shows it all. Keep up the good work thanks for the upload. Blessings
in my village looking for clams by soaking in the water then groping into the sand or mud will make it easier for me to get clams, I can get two size 50 kg sacks in just 3 hours
you guys look like you are on the Waterford side Niantic is across the water and pine grove is what you see where I grew up and those waters are my old stomping grounds.:]
Damn so close to me . If your still in CT check out reel cast charters capt.Mike Roy . He can put you on striper with light tackle top water and live lining while bunker
Vik, I know I’ve commented this on like all of your cape cod videos, but do you know what the canyons are? There’s great fishing for yellowfin, bigeye, mahi, marlin, and wahoo offshore in the summer south of Martha’s Vineyard. You should look up some TH-cam videos...it’s a sick fishery
perge the clams for 6 hours gets all guts and sand out. Then, you need butter, half n half potatoes, dill and thats about it. Chicken stock is for gravy my dude.
there not clams --there quahogs -clams are soft shell with long necks found mostly along the shore when the tide goes out ---they spit as you walk along --why it,s called clam chowder is any ones guess.
I can't believe Ive spent my time watching someone from Florida teach me how to cook things from where I live I guess I just really like the channel
Thank uou!
