Never get tired of travelling by train between Plymouth and Penzance, the scenery is stunning.

Fascinating view from rural Cornwall into urban Devon. The obvious high point was crossing Saltash viaduct, slowly enough to pick out construction detail thanks to speed limit. Well shot and thankfully uploaded for us! Thank you!

This train trots along quite nicely.

Having only enjoyed this line previously as a passenger, I must say that I hope Network Rail have dealt with all the mudholes I've seen since Penzance. And have tidied the track at Plymouth.
However, thanks for reviving some great memories, especially the Albert Bridge.
PS.My ancestors migrated from just outside Truro, St Allen.

    Brilliant, thank you.
Funny old world, when leaving boarding school as a kid I would catch an east bound express to Newbury and mates would catch a west bound express to Salisbury and more often than not, we would meet again at Exeter, them travelling south whilst i was travelling north!!!

Can anyone advise where the signal is to permit the train onto the single line across the RA bridge? I’ve watched a few times but can’t pick it out

It is visible on the platform halfway down at Saltash. 27m 18s. The train stops right along side P3 signal.

Loving this, shame that sound wasn’t allowed, the sounds would have added that little bit to it...

Very good. You mention the 666 meter Tamar crossing. A meter is something that takes measurements, a metre is a distance of just over 39 inches.

Anyway - why are pretty well all other bridges and tunnels in yards? Was this bridge built or designed by Europeans?

Great trip into my home city. Bit puzzled as to why you've put an unnecessary apostrophe in the plural areas. It doesn't need one. ;-)

There are far too many platforms at Plymouth station

Plymouth (North Road) opened in 1877 I think and not 1849. That was the original station at Millbay. Entertaining but depressing in that it shows the run down and cut down state of the railway. Rubbish and graffiti everywhere.

Been waiting for this one!..as I lived near the line from Liskeard and also at St Germans , thus fascinating, a view of the countryside -- and not from the road. Thank you!!
