Honestly I don't know why they made it out like she wouldn't know anything about Star Wars. Even if she wasn't a geek, Star Wars was a huge part of pop culture. I'd never watched a single Star Wars property and I got all those references.

Sheldon's got a point. The Trade Federation plot was really important for Star Wars. People just don't like it because there is too much talk and not enough lightsabers.
"When Darth Vader killed Obi Wan, did Luke cry like a baby?" Yes. He literally did exactly that. Only reason he didn't go to his funeral was because they didn't have one
@@Fazzel For a show starring nerds, they sure do demean them a lot. Wouldn't it have been better to be proud of nerd culture instead of shitting on it every chance they got?
@@superstarultra28 It is one of the more annoying parts of TBBT how much they dumbed-down the nerdness so every watcher can say "wow, I'm such a nerd". Like knowing basic Star Wars knowledge doesn't make you a nerd at all, my mother would know who destroyed the Death Star...

@Christopher Bingham out of universe Sheldon is the most popular. In universe - he is usually tolerated at best, outright hated at worst (and rightfully so)
@Christopher Bingham He clearly means in-universe; Out-of-universe, of The Big Bang Theory characters, maybe, but the most popular Young Sheldon character seems to be Missy (though you seem determined to remain in bitter, delusional denial about that).
In Psych, Shawn who is complete opposite of a nerd imagines Juliet as Princess Leia in a dream once. Star Wars wasn't only for the nerds. Credits to Parsons, Cuoco, Helberg etc for carrying such a show with dreadful writing for 12 whole seasons. Dreadful is actually an understatement for how bad the show was after S7.
Well, according to statistics, starwars franchise profited 10.33 billion dollars. I would have thought a x or potential actress would be very interested in getting into that franchise instead of rolling her eyes at it. So badly written later seasons.
I don't really like Star Wars, so my opinion on this is not the one to go by but Phantom Menace is the best of the Star Wars movies. 4/5/6 feel/are old and Luke is a boring protagonist, Han Solo is a bad guy, and Leia doesn't do enough to carry any of the movies. In 3 Anakin makes the worst decisions for dumb reasons and he kills a bunch of fucking kids. That whole Jedi system was super fucked up, probably more than I know, but Anakin killing the kids is still unforgivable, not just for him, but for the movie. I hate when movies have to show the villain doing something awful to make you hate them, especially if they later try to "redeem" the character. If a Villain kills kids/dogs/cats the movie is already worse than it needed to be, if they then try to make you like the villain the movie is bad. Okay so what is left, 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9. Okay so 7/8/9 are their own trilogy, I know almost nothing about them, but I do know about Snope and his real identity. That's fucking dumb. Idk if that alone makes them worse than 1 or 2, but I don't want to watch them to find out, so I will assume bad villain for a bad movie trilogy. Now we have 2 left, both have a good villain, Darth Maul and General Grievous, the two Jedi/Sith smart enough to wield multiple Light Sabers. Very nice. However Maul 1v2s and goes 1-1, General Grievous does a 1v1 and loses. On top of that, he is not even the main villain, because the main villain for that one is some loser I know nothing about and don't care about, he is completely unmemorable. Count Duku or however you spell it is boring. Therefor The Phantom Menace wins, Quaigon is cool, Droids are cool, Darth Maul is cool.
You probably don't want to know, but here is a bit of trivia about the jedi system: The system implied that kids got taken from their parents at a very young age - which is why they originally didn't want to train Anakin. That is so, so that the kids don't have any memories about their parents, thus not getting homesick or otherwise involved with their original life. Considering that this was the starting point of Anakins downfall, it kinda proves that the system was necessary. Also, while I don't agree with your reasoning, I will say Phantom Menace is my favorite SW movie to just watch as a standalone.
Whose here after Bob Newhart's passing?
Just found out, so I wanted to see if anyone else started putting this on videos of him yet
Howard to silent Sheldon: "You upset or just rebooting?" is such an unrerrated line!! 😂😂👌🏽👌🏽

It's cute how much Penny changed over the years.
If only she’d stop thinking it was a bad thing tho.

Me: You got cool.
Yeah
The way she realises her knowledge of Star Wars 😂😂

Phantom Menace > Attack of the Clones any day for me. But both overshadowed by Revenge of the Sith
1:00 this killed me they hacked her mind over the time lol
I'm with Sheldon part one is crucial for Star Wars you can't do a Star Wars marathon without it.
And it's better than part 2 anyway.
"When Darth Vader killed Obi Wan, did Luke cry like a baby?"
Yes. He literally did exactly that. Only reason he didn't go to his funeral was because they didn't have one
I'm with Sheldon, the trade dispute is my favourite part
Not gonna lie the Attack of the scones pun were golden.
“Where’s my pudding?”
You know what was a suggestion, too? Dismissing Chancellor Valorum and getting Palpatine in charge.
I mean yes Luke did technically go to Darth Vader's funeral.
He was referring to obi wans
Sheldon's right the Senate hearings were boring, but they were important to the lore and plot.
Senate hearings are usually boring
2:00 "Watching C-SPAN with Monsters" xD pretty much sums up United States Congress hehehe
I don’t get why Penny’s making such a big deal out of knowing Star Wars it became a household name by the year this episode came out.
She is trying to not become a Nerd.

Because she doesn’t know this by overhearing it, she knows it because she’s likely watched the movies so much that it’s ingrained into her mind
I Love This Show 👏 👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Chai means tea 😅
I love the Star Wars themed foods. Can I have that once in a while.
Penny, you understand the stuff because you saw the geek movies to understand what these guys are saying

to be perfectly honest, my favorite part about The Phantom Menace was any scene with Darth Maul

Which episode is this please?
@Christopher Bingham Thanks, will check it out

As much as it sucks, The Phantom Menace is integral to the story.

How does Sheldon have friends? I don't even have friends
Obviously because of his charming and charismatic personality, of course.
Because he had smart and cool parents like Leonard and Penny 😂
iA sensible person would just watch Star Wars '76 and Empire and stop there...
man the roast of howard here.... the jew/nazi reference so on point
There is no jew/nazi reference. It refers to Sheldon's contempt for Howard.
